Electronic Music Thread - "Why yes, I listened to Skrillex in high school!"

Do you listen to Shpongle? Because if you’re into weird sound design they’ll probably be right up your alley:
There's some good bits and some good sound design, but overall it's not exactly my cup of tea, sadly.
Been listening to this guy since mid-2020, looks like he packed up shop around the Afghanistan withdrawal.
Not bad.
Also going to repost this song you posted in chat once because I love sine compression basses.

I just got Deep Forest's last major-label studio album, Music Detected (I'm very late on everything because I only buy used). For this outing they adapted a more hard-edged, driven style, less like their previous albums Boheme and Comparsa and more like Afro Celt Sound System. They also have people singing (often incredibly banal and preachy) English lyrics.

Despite all this their sound is still quite recognizable, and I enjoyed this album more than I suspected, because the production quality is so high. Still, I would much, much prefer the supple sweetness, the evocation of camaraderie, of Boheme.

Here's some less "pure" electronic music. I'll be surprised if everyone here isn't already familiar with these.

Excellent saws.

There are tons of great remixes of this (one of my favorite songs).

EARLY (1983 I think) electronic that still holds up great.

The Handsome Furs are a great blend of electronic, guitar, and vocals.

I hope nobodies forgotten about this one yet.

Gonna post more darker/spooky shit for October, but wanted to share this.
This and a few other songs were supposed to be on Grum's Deep State album back in 2018. However, Anjunabeats found out that Chris Sevier, the guy collaborating with Grum on these tracks, was a complete fucking schizo. Like, wanting to marry his laptop to protest gay marriage schizo. So they deleted all the tracks with Chris in it and Grum pushed back the Deep State release to basically remake the entire album. It's kinda bullshit if you ask me, though I like how the revised album turned out better than the original tracks.

Still, I really like this particular track, and it sucks I can't find a higher quality version of it.

A certain lolcow, after falling into a river and being submerged for some 10 seconds, has been sperging about near-death experience (NDE) for almost 2 months now. That gives me a pretext to bring up Hosono Haruomi's album NDE. The obi-strip states the music style as "WILD Ambient!"

The music is too active to be called "ambient". Admidst the tanpura drones and the beating of dohl drums and tablas, it has a sultry, humid tropical feel.

"Higher Flyer" is the standout track, with an electronic object revolving inside your head field and seemingly suck at each ear in turn

The package appears minimal, just a thick cardbord insert with vague words or pattern -- but you have too peel off the top layer of almost-opaque plastic to read the track listing and credits.

anyone here like power noise? i think it's electronic enough to post on here. check dis shit out.
idk if this counts but this black metal done solely with electronic instrumentation.
hope yall dig it. i can go on and on and spam this motherfucker with shit but idk if the shit i like is too weird so yeah, hope ya dig.

Like most albums by Hector Zazou, Songs of the Cold Seas is full of cross-cultural collaborators. Here is a song from the Ainu tribe of Japan "Yaisa Maneena".

The electronics on this song is more amorphous than the usual Zazou affair, due to the participation of his compatriot group Lightwave, who specialized in dark ambient. Here is more Lightwave.

Finally I just have to put up something from this Harold Budd / Hector Zazou collaboration, because the album's title is the answer of today's Wordle.
