Elon Musk buys 9,2% of Twitter

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
People act like this Twitter offer/investment is coming out of nowhere. This looks more to me like a bait and switch. We're making this about Twitter, but I see this as Elon's slow attempt to take revenge against the people involved in tanking his opportunity to take Tesla private. He had to have known the SEC would come back for seconds when he attempted the same thing with Twitter.

There's other investment things and holding companies like Silver Lake that wanted a Twitter buy out years ago and still have a piece of the pie that if I'm sure if you went up the food chain far enough are fronts for entities like BlackRock, State Street or Vanguard. I don't see how Elon Musk would be allowed to buy Twitter. Even when fair valuation is in the 30 dollar a share range and he offered a buyout in the 50s, it wasn't considered for one nanosecond to permit the buy out. Furthermore, every board member agreed to poison pill Elon Musk with the standard stock restriction/stock issuance dilution thing and used its own platform and other media apparatuses to get people to think Elon Musk buying an internet site is LITERALLY TECHNOHITLER.

Elon Musk's comment sections right now.

Whether he buys it or not, the is how stupid the libtards are. He has shown how bad the media is reporting on his actions. He has shown that there are things that Twitter is hiding and is a gate keeper for the socialistic viewpoint.

From a business point of view, he's pretty shrewed in his thinking. Regardless of what happens it's a win on his part.

I've followed Musk for a while now (since 2012), and before Tesla exploded on the public market the amount of negative shilling he and his company took for years was incredible, and seeing him smash through all of it really made me like the guy. The volume of negative media hit pieces, and lies were pretty eye opening for anyone following things closely. They even had a coordinated gay-op website that often used #TESLAQ (Q, they actually used Q) as a hashtag that did all kinds of weird shit to try and drop their share value. The media absolutely hated Tesla and Musk, and even the gov't, until very recently, wouldn't even mention the companies name, building American cars, in America.

It's really bizarre to see people trying to defend twitter, and even suggesting it would be "destroyed" with his ownership, that place is already a shithole, and it's destruction would be an improvement. I think he's been waiting a while to make this move, he will strike back at the media for all those years they relentlessly shat in his cereal. You just don't quickly forget all those people that worked tirelessly to annihilate you, and your business. He doesn't even have to do anything overtly against them either, he just needs to remove the massive amount of narrative control twitter has, and the rest will take care of itself.

It makes sense now, he has 6 huge factories operating all over the world now, he has like the only 100% foreign owned factory operating in China, and he just opened up a Gigafactory in Texas, which is the largest factory by volume anywhere, they have completely changed how battery cells (4680s) and vehicles are made. Tesla's quarterly growth is insane. I think he's just flexing back now that things are more widely established. I can't wait, the salt will be endless. It's really hard for me to hate someone who has been fighting, and winning, against the mainstream media/shills for years.

He baited the board into violating their duty to the shareholders by not considering this. I bet we will start seeing twitter get sued. How it shakes out is less certain.

As a major shareholder, Elon Musk has a vested interest in twitter ending it's moderation practices. There is a serious risk to the company if their censorship leads to them losing section 230 protections. There is a serious possibility that the Republicans will take control of congress and they have openly threatened to do so if elected.

Agreed.

As the news cycle has moved on and Elon has been reduced to hinting at hostile takeover. It remains to be seen what will happen. The poison pill strategy may work, but it is more likely to bring legal trouble for the board.

Edit:
It's interesting to see how well these media hit pieces have worked on the users of Kiwi Farms who you might expect to at least know a little better, but other than appending a "but I like how he triggers people I don't like" they just say the exact same shit the media's been pushing.

He has sucked up billions and the only thing he has to show are overpriced electric vehicles that don't actually solve any of the problems they were supposed to solve.

Dude is literally that monorail salesman from the simpsons
He's a scam artist in the car space but somewhat makes up for it with SpaceX. I do agree that hyperloop is a complete joke as are his ideas for proprietary Tesla car tunnels and other bs. Elon probably doesn't even half pay attention to most of what Tesla as a company is getting away with now though.

As far as internet shit heaps go I would rank in terms of edginess Twitter > Reddit >>>> 4chan. You might ask yourselves how the fuck is that possible? How the fuck could Twitter be worse than the place where the N bomb is dropped every second word? It's simple. On Twitter there are "professional" accounts where retards use their real name and take everything very seriously. So you get the worst of the worst where they post their dumb career shit that shows up on somebody else's feed between Furry diaper porn, literal CIA propaganda, and OnlyFans whores blasting their assholes out with power tools. Twitter is a joke. The internet is a joke. If you aren't able to understand this you are mentally retarded. All this "free speech" talk is bullshit. Elon is doing this for the lulz because Twitter is a humourless shit heap filled with retards who take it seriously. Some activist employees, maybe the state department, maybe hilldawg herself will nuke his bid to takeover and the stock will drop a clean 30% and maybe some of the retards that work there will bail and the company will continue its slide into failure and it will all be very funny.
You wouldn't believe what kinds of porn you can find by using non-latin characters. Hint: quite shady

I see this posted constantly can you explain this, seeing as how they shipped almost a million vehicles worldwide in 2021? What is he scamming? Do you follow the company at all? Is this from a Business Insider article? Who is scammed? They already paid back their 450 million dollar loan from the gov't in 2013 (early), and the current electric vehicle incentives from state to state aren't really great, and usually apply to vehicles under 50k. Tesla doesn't get anymore federal tax credits, and haven't since 2019 wrapped up, because they made so many cars. Those tax credits apply for other companies making EVs still.

I just wish people saying "scam artist" would elaborate, so I could see what risks this poses for the companies future, but for some reason I never seem to get an explanation. What are they "getting away with" now that he's "not looking?"

In terms of the tunnels from boring company, he had to compete to get that commercial contract in Las Vegas. I know Musk gave Boring Co. almost 100 million, and they raised 10 million selling the "not a flamethrower," but they are a separate company from Tesla, just like SpaceX. Boring Co. is just trying to sell you a tunnel, you either want a tunnel or you don't. Do you want to buy a tunnel? Apparently there is going to be a "tunnel cost price estimator" coming soon. Finally my dreams of a secret tunnel complex can finally be realized. I have not kept up with the Boring Company much, but that's hilarious this could be offered.
