Imagine you are in the board meeting tensely discussing this matter, in an economic environment of great uncertainty with interest rates rising, severe inflation, the Nasdaq sputtering hard, figuring that the stock will likely not reach Elon's purchase price for a long time, and some Karen chimes in "We are very concerned with what this takeover will mean for queer youth BIPOC sex workers of color from socioeconomically disadvantaged communities".

That board room is talking about only one thing right now, how can they, in tandem with vanguard, blackrock, the saudis and their Hollywood eunuchs, can send Elon Musk back to Africa through a series of blacklisting from other venues.

"warped sense of free speech", Christ these people lack any kind of self-awareness. I actually respect Musk for his stance on free speech, because if you try to classify something as bad/hate speech then you're not a free speech advocate anymore, you're just a censor like any other.

And this move is pretty smart, because he can now influence one of the biggest social media sites to actually respect freedom of speech, completely bypassing the hooplas of making a new platform only for it to be completely discredited by the establishment for being a literal Nazi site even though these loons only make up a fraction of the userbase and are only there because they got banned off of Twitter, not to mention Visa and Mastercard abusing their power to completely kill any prospects for the site, maintaining the Silicon Valley monopoly.

All the progressives who were spouting off for years about how private businesses have the absolute right to decide who uses their platforms are suddenly hand wringing about what might happen if the wrong type manages to get control of one of their propaganda outlets. Absolutely hilarious.

My job requires me to spend some time on Twitter. Some days it‘s just wall-to-wall Musk nonsense. “omg he’s so smart” “did you hear about this OUTRAGEOUS tweet he tweeted? it was so outrageous and he used a swear word!!” “he said we will have flying cars in two years!!” ”what if he buy Twitter and bring Trump back?? how crazy” Kill me.

Conmen don't actually deliver. Elon Musk sets extremely lofty, sometimes impossible goals to motivate and it works, but often he misses deadlines. He is not perfect or some superhero like people make him out to be though.

Let's not ignore SpaceX: reusable rocket boosters and private commercial space flight. Tesla is far less impressive an accomplishment, I agree.
