Fallout series

Fair enough,I was getting a bit tired of the whole Enclave thing in Fallout 3.Their was a point somewhere here giving the idea of perhaps mutants that are using The Master's ideals.Something to do with Mutants wanting to bring back The Unity.

Oh, I'm not totally disagreeing with you. I just think they should follow up on the older mutants rather than just using a new strain of FEV to introduce super mutants as fodder. They should bring back the concept of The Unity in some form because I could see the ideology behind it seem appealing to wastelanders. I mean, these are people that struggle to stay alive only to see everything routinely taken from them by those who are stronger (raiders, gangs, NCR, whatever). Considering that the Master and the specifics of what he did never became common knowledge to the wasteland means you'd have super mutants out there, walking around, talking about a man called "The Master" who just wanted everyone to coexist peacefully. Anyone who had firsthand experience with the Master is either dead or a super mutant so a religion/community could easily crop up that followed a distorted yet benevolent image of the Master. The ideas behind the man making more of a change than the man/monster himself, etc, etc, yada yada yada.

I agree with your idea,It would be interesting to see a mutant leader saying he is "The Master".A mutant threat or something a bit new would be a warm welcome to me in the new games.Or the cut content form Fallout Extreme where their is the Chinese remnants are going to invade Canada/USA,Or could use the plot form Van Buren and have some mad scientist wanting to shot a laser from a satellite on Earth.

So gamers, what are your predictions as to where the DLC will take place?

My gamer wechat group is pretty convinced that at least one of them will take place in Mars, as there are many allusions in the logs to a Mars mission in the ArcJet facility. Maybe they were successfully able to start a colony right before the bombs dropped. They could have used a GECK to make the planet livable, but it went to shit after they lost contact with the wrecked earth.

Other possibilities:

The ruins of NYC
Return to DC
Cape Cod - Similar to Point Lookout
Canada - No mention of how they fared in the war, or even if they were bombed
Vermont or some other setting that is remote and full of tribals warring with each other--similar to Honest Hearts
Go midwest and fight Caesar's Legion (doubtful, who knows if they even consider New Vegas cannon)

I think it will have more of a nautical theme so yeah, Cape Cod makes sense. While the tidbits about a ghoul whale and the harpoon gun are remnants of a cut quest I'd still like to see them do something with it.

NYC isn't a realistic possibility. Maybe for Fallout 5, but it would take an immense effort to properly realize all five boroughs of the city. Then again, I am a citizen of the greater New York metropolitan area saying this, so I'm a bit biased.
Cape Cod or Vermont I could see happening - especially Nantucket if they want to go full-throttle with the whaling angle. Or Salem, after the Museum of Witchcraft. Maybe Plymouth for some Thanksgiving shenanigans. And I could definitely see Bethesda going for the nostalgia-trip and doing a return to DC.

I think the DLC will cover the more expanse fringes of the glowing sea, well past the crater and stretches to the west. There's a whole stretch of treacherous mountains (as per post-atomic topography (or PAT) during the war) covered in what looks like burning hot smog. I'd imagine we're going to relive Lonesome Road through Boston's worst post-war ruins.

As far as future Fallout games? The rumored Obsidian Fallout title will possibly take place in New Orleans. I don't know about you guys, but if this is true, I'll be super excited. Hopefully Obsidian takes character mortality as seriously as they had with New Vegas and allows you to kill pretty much everything (except for what you cannot).

They could make NYC viable by saying it got hit so hard with nukes that the majority of it is too irradiated to enter, and you'd have to take a vertibird to Coney Island or a part of Manhattan. Another nearby-ish city to Boston could be Philadelphia, which could jive with Bethesda's hard-on for the American Revolution stuff. A funny twist would be an even more sinister "Diamond City" full of Phillies fans.

I believe Cape Cod is the most likely. But what I really want is a huge expansion to the glowing sea.

New Orleans is the only prospective Fallout locale that comes anywhere close to NYC for me in terms of excitement.

Radgators. Raiders with Cajun accents wearing Mardi Gras beads. Giant mutated crawdads. It would be fucking amazing.

The humid marshes and swamps (assuming the post-atomic topography hadn't drained/evaporated most of them out) would be terrifying. Dark, hellishly humid, gurgling... Perfect for post-nuclear Louisiana...

I'd want a confederate faction, one which idolizes a bastardized version of the Stars and Bars, which misconstrues the morals of the deep south.

I hope Obsidian lets us kill everything in the next Fallout, that and strategically connect one location to another. It was spiffy how you can scale the mountainside along Goodsprings to get to Red Rock Canyon...

(Probably already posted, but...)

Back to the fanboy salt. (This is Kiwi Farms, after all.) While I don't care much for Jim Sterling's enormously fat, egomaniacal SJW self, he does provide some LAFFO with his "Metabombed" articles. And wouldn't you know it, the Fallout 4 one is the biggest one so far, with a record number of "I didn't particularly care for it ZERO OUT OF TEN!@1" reviews.
Meanwhile[comma] kiste333 laments the game’s more combat-focused combat system. They also think it’s boring. At least[comma] that’s the subtle hint I’m picking up. said:
This isn’t an RPG anymore, it’s a straight up shooter now. Except for the settlement building stuff, every single quest so far involved going somewhere and murdering everthing. There are no alternative paths, there is no use of skills or speech to do thing differently. You go to the location, you kill everything that moves, grab the thing you need (if even) and that’s it.

Everything is boring. The quests are boring, the NPCs are boring, the story is boring, the dialogues are boring, the locations are boring and often annoying (having to “clear” every raider in a maze like factory is a pain). And you know what else is boring: Raffling through thousands of containers to looting everything not nailed to the ground because you need every piece of junk for crafting materials. If feels so incredibly tedious.

I’m absolutely speechless how bad this is. And no, Mods won’t be able to fix the bland story, the bad dialogue or the forgettable characters. Good grief, I had actually hoped that Bethesda might include some of the stuff that worked really well in Obisidan’s New Vegas – but no, they off in the opposite direction.

Not, this is not a 0 points game, but I’m giving this score because I find it shameful that the professional game Reviews are giving this abomination 90% scores (0/10)

Dumbed down piece of disappointmet. Awful witing, absolutely perimitive dialogue system. dumbed down leveling, axed skills, dumbed down perks, dumbed down EVERYTHING. Bethesda caters to the lowest common denominator among the gamers – action Call of Duty crowd, to whom reading more than a single paragraph is an affront. Complex sentences makes their head hurt, so Fallout 4 is ideal for using simple phrases.(0/10)

Huge disappointment after New Vegas, then again we’re talking about Bethesda here:
– Story is bland and stale as a week old coffee
– Graphic style looks like a mixture between Sims and claymation
– No more Traits or Skills, just the same simplified idiotic “character building” as Skyrim.
– Plays more like CoD than First Person RPG. Why not add cover system & rebounding Health meter while you’re at it Bethesda? (2/10)

Pure Vomit. I was so excited about this game. Spent thousands fixing up my PC and getting a Titan X graphics card to play the game and a 60 inch 4k LED. I played New Vegas for the last half year in anticipation.

Do you care about story?
Do you care about dialogue?
Do you care about writing?
How about the excitment of getting skill points every two levels as you did in Fallout New Vegas and carefully placing them where you thought made you play the game the most fun or tactical way possible?
Did you consider some of the changes to something worthy of the title Fallout 4 would be something like a more complex attribute or SPECIAL system, maybe a bit like dark souls which has so many damn skills as well as hidden skills (like poise) that affect the gameplay and combat? (well lets just say **** did the opposite and DUMBED it down and more fitting for toddlers.
Do you ever feel like RPGs tend to cater to the slightly more cerebral-minded or pensive player and hence demand a bit more depth rather than simplifying?

If you said yes to any of that, you better stay the effing hell away from this game.
Bethesda writers inspire one human emotion…VOMIT, while that may not currently be in the dictionary as an emotion, after what Bethesda has done, I am certain in will be in all dictionaries soon as an emotion you feel after playing Fallout 4.
If you want a shooter, play Halo, but the slightly improved combat can not make up for the overwhelming boredom this game permeates. Its so Effing BORING. BORING BORING BORING. BORING. BORING BORING BORINGBORING. BORING BORING BORINGBORING. BORING BORING BORINGBORING. BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING
OMG i think I’m going to give Witcher or WoW a try.
No wonder reviews were blocked until release.
Bethesda is pure evil. Instead of focusing on all those lawsuits and **** around people who did have creative rights to this game, and respecting them and having the sense to hire such valuable resources from guys who probably did deserve something, the used the law and technicalities to milk them for all they were worth, just like they are milking fans.

In Fallout 5 the SPECIAL system will be simplified by having only one number, going from 1 to 10, that tells how cool is your character. Perks are completely removed.

In Fallout 6 you only have one dialogue option. You can press X to initiate dialogue whenever you want. Game still get 10/10 reviews and it is chosen as RPG of the year.

Fallout 7 have complete Facebook integration. (2/10)

Well after playing this for quite a few hours and installing a bunch of mods to make it better (graphically too) I can tell you, it does not get better. And for one I agree with most of the user reviews up there and it's not about being a fanboy or a jerk or whatever, that's just my opinion. Now sure it doesn't deserve a zero, but certainly not 10s and 9s, hell even 7 is too generous. Here's some of the last games I played before Fallout 4: Arkham Knight, Witcher 3, MGSV: The Phantom Pain, and me who thought the best was yet to come.... I was so wrong. Fallout 4 is a huge disappointment in all departments, graphics, story, dialogues, controls, presentation, animations, pacing, atmosphere. Everything. And last but not least the gameplay. Awful. Boring as hell. I can't believe some people criticizing Metal Gear Solid V for an unfinished story and defending the sad excuse of a game that is Fallout 4 in the same breath. I've always been in knowledge of how Bethesda used to run away with releasing buggy software, but this is from another level. This is not even buggy, this is just lazy. Very lazy after the great effort we got with Obsidian in Fallout: New Vegas. Very disappointed.

Sci Fi purists can be worse than Teen Wolves when it comes to bitching, hot damn.

I think Fallout 4 is fine, the Minutemen are kinda dull, but other than that it was always about the non-essential lore items that made Fallout an interesting universe.

Also what do fans expect, both studios who develop Fallout, work them differently. At least the controls are light on the changes. New Vegas had better RPG elements than Fallout 3 IMO, but then again we're talking about Obsidian.

I still feel like the only person who didn't really enjoy any part of FNV. The story felt even less engaging than the third and fourth to me, and it just felt generally more rail-roady. Though Fallout 4 has some bland elements (such as the aforementioned minutemen who I've done fucking nothing for oops), everything about it feels good.

Everyone who's complaining about skills just doesn't like their games being streamlined and improved, it seems. Needs to be obtuse or its not a real game.
