Leonard Boynarsky is a talented man but holy shit Interplay's marketing team are fucking idiots. The "unskippable content" and "in-game ads" (I know Bawls did this for the Brotherhood of Steel Playstation game, but still) problems are still relevant to this day with EA's proposition in recent memory. When will the suits learn?

I have been addicted to playing fallout 2 with the newest RPU patch and the EcCo mod and I cant say that im even tired yet, I have multiple different playthroughs of different playstyles and its truly making me realize how simple and content the older games were, jfyi RPU and EcCo are still being updated, the latest release will come with an extended inventory so if you have a bigger monitor you will benifit from having more space in trading menus and your inventory. The github page for the RPU has documentation on which mods are which iirc.
Which exact version of the RPU patch did you play with?

On another note, I'm sure this has been said, but it deserves repeating. The companions in the first game are retarded. At least with Fallout 2, I can generally tell certain companions to keep their distance or better yet equip them with rifles and pretty much have them snipe from afar. I can't do that with these numbnuts. They keep charging right on a horde of Super Mutants in the Cathedral. It's so stupid, and before anyone wants to mention it. I know I can tell the companions to pretty much wait some place safe while I deal with the mutants myself, but it's stupid the player has to do this.

At least Castlevania fans got to eat pretty good with Bloodstained. I'd love it if a high quality Fallout knockoff came out that nailed the best parts of the franchise it was emulating.
People claim Wasteland 3 is a great classic Fallout successor but I have my doubts.

It's very okish. I'd put it at a solid 7/10.

Certainly better than The Outer Worlds but not something I'd ever replay.
One of my biggest complaints about Wasteland 3 is you'll have absolute bangers like Blood of the Lamb that play only for a single fight and never again, and then you'll have their versions of America the Beautiful and Battle Hymn of the Republic that are painful to listen to and you'll hear them every battle in their designated locations.

Wasteland 3 is one of those games which make me sad because conceptually the ideas are amazing but then they are kind of underwhelming when they actually show up in game.

That being said I'd love to see Larian take a shot at the IP.

Wasteland 3 is a good game but it neither feels like Fallout or plays like Fallout. The combat it way more tactical like X-Com compared to Fallout and the combat is basically always forced meaning there's no non-combat focused builds that you can make like you can in Fallout 1 and 2. The story feels a lot different too with it having to do with weird factions of people that would feel very out of place in a Fallout game like those weird guys who were based around 1980's American culture.

It would just be a Wasteland game with a terrible plot and you get to have sex with weird mutant monsters. I think I would rather see just about any other company make the next game.

ATOM is less fallout more isometric Metro,
It has a few nods to Fallout in it and I see it as set in the same universe, just from the perspective of Russia after the bombs fell.
Some Halo modder has been working on porting F3/FNV assets into Halo 3 for a Fallout mod:

Looks really cool. Imagine Halo gameplay but as a BoS member going around the wasteland on missions agains ghouls, raiders, super mutants, and Enclave.
If Bethesda had any talent, they would have expanded the Fallout: Tactics universe/spin-off where you build bases, launch invasions on enemies, with the choice of wiping them out or letting them join your faction.
If only Bethesda had talent.

Oh, you want a Fallout-style cRPG to play? Ok guys, hear me out. The Age of Decadence. I'm gonna get so much shit for this aren't I? Kamahn doodz, it's a post-apocalyptic game but instead of nukes and Americana you have godlike beings and ancient Rome. You can also beat the whole game while just being a yapper.
The Age of Decadence is more of a puzzle game than an RPG. You need to not just build your character correctly you need to approach the game's content in a specific order to succeed. You will need to either trial and error or look up a guide. Colony Ship is more free formed, less bottle necked and easier to pick up and play.

Wasteland 3 is set only a few decades after the nukes hit, and those were in what, the 2000's? Its definitely more of a Mad Max post apoc thing with the survivors still just struggling to get by whereas Fallout is post-post-apocalypse where civilization has already started to recover and rebuild.

It's like they have to have that one token DLC that's got better content than the base game. Oblivion had the Shivering Isles, Fallout 3 had Point Lookout, Skyrim had Dragonborn and Fallout 4 had Far Harbor.
Honestly, I liked all the DLCs for Fallout 3 (except Broken Steel due to how much it broke the base game with OP enemies like Albino Radscorpions and Super Mutant Overlords).

The Pitt will forever remain my personal favorite DLC for FO3.

Wasteland 3 was a really fun game I did co-op with my buddy until we both got a weird glitch midway through the game that kept us both from playing together and we both haven't touched the game since.

After playing bg3 I don't want them to touch wasteland. They probably make wasteland very gay. I doubt they could even make a faction like Cesaer legion. As I once heard someone say larian developers need to jerk off before making game.

Always thought the idea of a Fallout themed RTS similar to Company of Heroes would be cool.

So far I've done Operation Anchorage and Mothership Zeta. Both were just...ok. Both felt like a linear gallery shooter, but Zeta was less frustrating due the aliens not being bullet sponges that do massive damage like the Chinese snipers. Zeta was still a stupid premise despite me liking it a bit more gameplay wise. Just started Point Lookout and I'm liking the environment so far. I've yet to do The Pitt since I want to save the best for last. Everyone has told me that Point Lookout and especially The Pitt are great.

Thanks for reminding me that I've had Fallout 3 for over a decade and still never got around to doing The Pitt. The only other DLC in that game I played besides Point Lookout was Operation Anchorage for the sweet winterized T51 armor you get for beating it. Oh, and part of Mothership Zeta.

If you have the cannibal perk you can eat the Jesus baby and doom both the raiders and slaves to extinction in The Pitt DLC.

Fast forward 15 years and in Starfield all npcs are essential and the meanest dialogue option you get is

"Excuse me kind sir I mildly disagree with your actions perhaps you could reconsider them?"

Bethesdabros what the fuck happened?
