From what I've seen it seems like initial S.P.E.C.I.A.L setup is now a lot less important as stats now function as sort of gateway-perks to other perks and thus you can apparently spend additional perks to boost them, which I feel kind of undermines the whole point of them.

I really do wish that they could add something like the "choose your race" thing from TES. Like maybe the android thing could've been one of the options you could've picked for surviving the war, and you could choose from being an android, a ghoul, or like some weird FEV mutant. I mean I know it's not happening since I doubt the guys in the vault would welcome a ghoul, but I can dream can't I?

It would require changes to the voiced protagonist and to the way other people react to you, to much variables. Considering they couldn't even put the effort into making post civil war Skyrim different then all the additional changes for race beyond the bland "Hail Ghoul/mutant" would be beyond them .

If those were attempted, ghoul and android could get a pass but that means trying to make a playstyle as one fit if you wanted to go beyond the superficial appearances. FEV mutant means you'd have not only have to revamp dialogue, it means you'd literally have to make the character a pariah in the Wasteland if they looked like the super mutants, considering that people would see an FEV mutant as something that should be killed.
Race thing considered, ghoul would mean they'd actually have to make your character face racism and such that would end up being half-assed (people call you things like zombie, radiation actually heals instead of hinder but that may just be it) and not well done.

I was thinking that it might work if each option kinda just gave you a unique ability like ghouls heal from radiation but chems aren't as effective on you, or the android thing means you're weak against pulse grenades but have better resistance to crippling/poisoning. Bet yeah it's almost definately not gonna happen.

But nobody would treat a ghoul or a synth the same way they'd treat a human. Synths would basically be slaves and ghouls are a lot more on vilified on the east coast compared to the west.

Bethesda doesn't even do this well with TES.
Like a high elf character in Skyrim can still join the Stormcloaks. There's only a handful of dialogue changes apiece. It's largely cosmetic.

I wish I had a horrifying rating to give you. Well, one can only wonder if Bethesda knows of this. If they knew of bronies throwing ponies into Fallout, one can only wonder how Bethesda feels about furries making a Sonic style Deathclaw, if that comes from a furry company known for making products based off the reproductive organs of an animal.

And GRRR! So excited for this new Fallout game. I'm trying to not get hyped, but I accidentally had a look at the Vault wiki and started reading about companions. I really enjoyed how New Vegas handled companions and companion quests, both in the main game and in the DLC (I'm looking at you Dead Money). Hopefuly they'll do something similar in Fallout 4.

Finally! Y'know when i was playing Fallout 3 and kept getting blown to bloody paste by super mutants whenever I tried to go into the DC ruins, I couldn't help but think "gee this sure is swell, the only way this could be any better is if I could physically feel the sensation of one of these beautiful 9 foot tall monstrosities fucking me up the ass!"
