Fallout series

Wasn't Master experimenting with FEV itself before finally perfecting the formula? Been long since I've played one yet I bet there was a holotape with his memories 'bout sperging on how dipping other creatures creates inferior tards to be absorbed. And how he, the supreme gentelman was able to connect to the computer systems of Mariposa to work further on getting the FEV right.
He get's knocked into the vat holding the original FEV while Harold got splashed with and escaping. After that he starts being a hyper mutated thing, found out he can absorb/eat things, powerfeed on basically anything nearby until able to connect with the base while experimenting with the FEV. He eventually perfects it enough to make something like Lieutenant who had all the enhancements of a supermutant and the intelligence he had as a human.

Even after all of its patches, New Vegas continues to crash far more often in a playthrough than 3 or 4 for me on Xbox.

Maybe it could've been more stable if Obsidian didn't dedicate resources to nerfing sniper rifles or replacing most Stimpaks in medical crates with empty syringes (brilliant when broc flower and xander root only grow in a few areas, you're better off buying Stimpaks anyway), but who am I to question the wisdom of people who couldn't manage projects if their lives depended on it.
Don't you understand though? It's all Bethesda's fault. Every problem that exists in the game is exclusively because of Bethesda. Obsidian only had 14 months, they had no time to bug fix! Chris Avellone would've had more time if Todd gave him more money for a faster car when going to work!

The lore and aesthetics of 1, 2, and T,
The lore and aesthetic of 1 and 2 (haven't subjected myself to T yet, though I've seen how they turned Deathclaws into fucking goats) aren't consistent with themselves.

Let's look at that statement. Fallout 1 has every city looking vastly different, but none of them making sense (except for Junktown, I suppose.), only for 2 to decide that not one, but two major cities had survived basically unharmed, you just didn't hear about them.

1 shows how buttfucked the world is technologically, only for 2 to throw working cars, and evidently, everyone's doing good enough that porn movies sell like wild-fire.

1 has the only instance of actual supernatural forces being an inexplicable hallway of melted faces, while 2 has a ghost, a magic tribal who has visions and astral projects, Brian the talking Mole Rat (along with Keeng Ra'at), and the fucking TARDIS.

1 establishes ghouls need food and water, or they'll die, 2 has coffin willie.

2 also has Mike Tyson just wandering around. Not someone that references him, literally Tyson.

None of this is even counting how fucking stupid the entire game of 2 is, with special mention going to both the Enclave and the Brotherhood giving a rando off the street suits of power armor and access to their bases, basically without the players consent. You have to try *not* to get in. Or the previously argued point of the Vault Dweller somehow fucking retardation into an entire tribe, AND finding a random mayan temple no one else was using.

Fallout 1 was a forgettable shitpile, even compared to it's contemporaries, that only survived by ripping off Wasteland (something the devs themselves confirm), and 2 was somehow even worse in every conceivable way. Honestly, lore has been far more consistent and respected by beth, considering over two and a half games (Read, the same amount as 1,2 and T), they've managed to keep almost everything across not only their games, but the rancid piles before, straight and aligned, with minimal retcons. Also, 'fart-huffing redditors and bad nexus modders' fucking adore 1,2 and NV, despite none of them having played the first two, and will constantly shriek of how Todd Howard personally came and raped their mothers.

Everyone who honestly thinks BI or Obsidian should come back needs to play Outer Worlds, then neck themselves when they realize that's the best Obsidian can do.

I agree that 2 was shit in a lot of ways, but it was still better than Bethesda's take. I don't think 3's awful, but I think 4 onward's fucked the series beyond repair.

I believe the tribe built the temple for its trials rather than finding it. Which is even stranger to me since that means they somehow acquired a buttload of stone, carved it into many advanced shapes, and then promptly did not use it for anything practical. One of the trials is using a rare piece of plastic explosive on a hand carved door. A century later they're close to declining so heavily they need the GECK.

It's all very schlocky and silly.

I've been down on certain aspects of Honest Hearts, but I have to give it major credit for how it handled tribals, and this is a perfect example. Zion is dotted with caves that would make perfect shelters or fortifications, but most of them go unused. In fact, they're considered taboo, dangerous places. And it turns out most of those caves are absolutely packed to the gills with lethal booby traps, left by our old buddy The Survivalist. A really nice demonstration of a degenerate culture reacting to the relics of what the old world left behind.

How did new California fuck it up, I wasn’t there for that.
Just dumb story decisions to tie the game to Fallout 1 while also acting as a backstory for Courier 6 beyond what we got in Lonesome Road. It happens fairly late in the mod so for some it soured the experience, personally I think its dumb but didn't ruin the entire thing for me.

Did they ever patch some extra content in past the opening? I remember the worldspace beyond the vault being completely barren of any meaningful content. The story is, indeed, mega retarded and a huge misfire.

Minor correction, but 1 has you acquire a psychic nullifier to pass through that hallway, said hallway being its own psychic entity, and you get it from one of the Master's several psychic test subjects, either Gideon, Moore, Wiggum, or Lucy.

1 also had Richard Dean Anderson & David Warner amongst the voice actors.

2 also had a crashes TOS shuttlecraft & some encounter with the Guaradian of Forever ( that netted you a gun of some kind )

Two problems with this.
First, Starfield. Bethesda isn't evil, as much as BI fanboys want to say they are. They're greedy, as all companies are. With Starfield seemingly having a major leaning back to 3 styled dialog trees and RP perks, if it sells in a major way, Bethesda is going to attribute that to the better roleplay aspects (in addition to autists crying about it since release), and will throw their weight back into that.

That's one good thing about the retarded 'one game at a time' approach Beth has, it allows them to react to market trends better than anyone else, for better or worse.

Second, Obsidian made Outer Worlds. I don't want those fucking failures anywhere near anything relevant ever again.
Obsidian has made a string of failures. But New Vegas fans are like a cult.
