Who is best companion in new vegas
Most broken is definetly Boone, he is super easy to get, has the most OP companion perk in the game and will often end fights before they even begin to the point that the killscreen slo-mo will feel like a jumpscare.

I have a soft spot for Rex (and Roxy) because I loved K9 and Robodog in FO2. He is my favorite.

What do you think of Veronica as a companion in new vegas
With the best gear and perks her unarmed skill does a lot of damage on paper. Probably the highest DPS of any companion. But her A.I. routine for melee combat is so terrible that she barely throws any effective punches. So her DPS is really closer to zero than anything else.

ED-E is equally as broken and has a perk that is just as good (infinite Perception). Upgraded ED-E combined with Boone is usually enough to make it so that the Courier doesn't even have to lift a finger in most combat situations. And recruiting ED-E and upgrading the robot is the most simple companion quest.

Annoying as fuck. I've heard Felicia Day had a hand in choosing some of her voice lines, so as a result if I ever have the misfortune to meet that woman IRL I'm going to be sorely tempted to punch her in the face a bunch to see how enthusiastic she really is about that sort of thing.

She does have PA training though, but you're better off bringing Arcade as long as you can keep him around if you need that sort of thing, especially since with Lonesome Road ED-E gets not just a workbench but also a reloading bench that renders Veronica's "perk" completely obsolete especially given her suicide attempts that involve trying to punch deathclaws in the face.

Playing Old World Blues at the moment, it's more difficult than I remembered, those fucking Nighstalker creeps me the fuck out.

But man I love the atmosphere of Big Mountain, and the comedy is top-notch. Rick and Morty in their prime would love to have the dialogue and comedic timing that this DLC has.

Enemies are far too resistant if you do it in order of release. I spend most of the at DLC hacking scorpion bots apart with the protonic axe.

(I lied about the last F4SE update being the last one for a bit)
F4SE is Out, I think? the main version on nexus has been replaced by a version for the next gen update, so F4SE is out now. Mods using F4SE will still need to be updated to the new version but F4SE is at least out in a beta form for use. The version on the F4SE website is still the version for pre-patch Fallout 4.

But, For anyone who did want to play modded fallout 4 without wanting to wait the next month for F4SE plugins to update, there are mods on the nexus that allow you use the new version of BA2 with pre-patch Fallout 4.
Fallout 4 Downgrader the description of this mod contains instructions and links to the other mods needed to get it all working properly

I've never used companions much in any fallout game so I'm not sure I'd have an objective opinion.
A man after my own heart, the only FNV companion I use regularly is Arcade and that's just to get the Remnants to fight at Hoover Dam.

I didn't even did a melee run for this one, and still that digital axe is one of the best weapons to use here. I hate the lobotomites having a perfect aiming, they're most annoying than scary.

Also, exploring the Father Elijah camps before Dead Money gives me a lot of hype for playing it, also with the tapes containing the first voices of Ulysses.
