Fallout series

Be a real fan like you all claim to be and only play 1 & 2. They're the most fun, well written games in the series anyway.
2 is not well-written, though I completely agree about 1.
Everything from 3 onwards should be a hard stop if you dudes hate bethesda so much. Even NV is just a nostalgia fag trap sponsored by Bethesda that most people unironically bought into :story: (the dlc was really good though and saves the game just barely)
It’s very unfortunate that NV was a bug-addled mess when it came out, but imo it serves a fantastic sequel to Fallout 2. Perhaps Bethesda’s original intentions were to have a Fallout game that would appease the og Fallout fans after F3 got trashed on by that demographic, but instead it just got a whole lot more people to realize how garbage Bethesda was at making Fallout games, hence why Howard has a chip on his shoulder. That’s just my theory.

The old fallout game had psychics and Bethesda brought them back. Do you prefer fallout to have wacky stuff like magic or do you like it played straight and mostly realistic.

Every Fallout game has something incredibly bizarre or weird. First game had psychics and the Master. Second game had endless pop culture references, the porn quests, some time travel, and aliens. Third game has a terrible nonsensical world with roaming 100ft tall mutants, child societies, and no drinkable water. Plus goofy stuff like Harold infused to a tree or the Mothership Zeta DLC which are played entirely for laughs. New Vegas has Old World Blues, a group dedicated to Elvis, and most of the Nightkin interactions are more comedic than serious.

But generally the series works better when it is grounded and more serious. Every game has some silly characteristic or area. 1 and New Vegas (even with the DLC) are by far the most realistic games within the Fallout universe. And seem to have the tone that most of the hardcore Fallout fans want.
nothing wrong with having weird stuff happening. just dont over do it and keep it at a minimum.
Exactly. 1 and New Vegas have a good balance. 2 is about all you can tolerate. And 3, 4, 76, and the Amazon show are saturated in immaturity. To the point where they barely feel like Fallout and more like some spinoff or new franchise. The infantile dialog is the absolute worst. The way that characters speak on the show is impossible to stomach. Most likely Fallout 5 will embrace the infantile dialog and quests and shed further the RPG elements.

Mannn you just reminded me how dated Fallout 2 is. The world itself is huge in scale compared to 1 but jfc the writing is all over the map. It feels like they were throwing goop at the wall and not bothering to see what sticks.

Fallout 2 also has a weird sex obsession, like it has actual formulas in the code that ranks your experience based on how much sex you have, there’s more characters you can have sex with and force into prostitution than any other Fallout title, and there’s five perks in this game alone that do nothing but boost your sexual performance.

i notice fallout 4 isnt on this list, i assume because it sucks complete ass and is just a blander fallout 3 with some polished gunplay. also i think fallout 1 incorporated its more outlandish elements in a better way, really the more i revisit the more i start to inch closer to only liking the first game, its the only one that actually did the POST retrofuture nuclear wasteland concept justice by having actual contrast between post and pre war cultures rather than having the old world be more this mystic thing with elusive oases dotting the world or just kinda out in the open. it was interesting instead of having a singular framing of "mobsters or noir detectives or things you know from 50s in the wastes" seeing like older mud hut style buildings being built like it was the dawn of man again in one area or the squabbling different groups in the expanse of the boneyard and wandering tribalistic raiders or desperate little junkyard scrapers building a town from the heaps all with different cultures from different resources.

I dont think even 2 really managed to do that again, it feels like the root of alot of this just making the wasteland a post apocalyptic retrofuturist wacky america rather than this new thing born from the corpse of that shiny idealistic past.

i feel like 3 was supposed to be a reboot of fallout. the world makes a bit more sense if its more in the timeframe or just before of 1 and it also fixes the issue of having the enclave just be on a different coast by instead just having them always have been there in a new reboot. the story plays out like a neutered fallout 1 because the supermutants cant have a Master figure or itd be too blatant and also like 2 with the enclave stuff. the world seems like its been a bit after the bomb rather than centuries. it feels to me like they took what would be a reboot and just turned it into a sequel

4 has some out-there stuff like the Cabot House quest and Dunwich Borers. I'm honestly surprised that the Museum of Witchcraft in Salem only had a bit with a deathclaw rather than something more esoteric. I think it references a guy getting abducted from Salem by the Zeta aliens from 3's DLC, but that's about it. I had expected something more similar to Point Lookout's stuff.

IIRC Emil Pagliarulo, king of the hacks said that he wanted to have witches that casted magic with radiation, but decided not to at the last moment.

That sounds like a cool idea with the big reveal being it's either a smaller version of the gamma gun or a wrist device that can emit rads but that would require skill to make it work.

I don't know how true it is but I've heard that each area of the game was designed by different people and then all mashed together at the end. I kind of believe it seeing how you have places like New Reno which have almost all of the weird sex stuff in it and how the rest of the game hardly has any. Or how San Francisco has the Hubologists who feel completely out of place compared to everything else you see in the game.

The modder behind the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch has thrown a bitch fit and locked comments.

Now Why did he do this? Following the Fallout 4 Next Gen Patch people have started reporting that UFO4P was causing massive stutters, Arthmoor (Lead Dev) starts responding to comments saying that its Reddit misinformation and telling people they aren't following the correct steps of reproducing the bug. People reply to him saying that they are, in fact, getting the same results with nothing but UFO4P installed, Arthmoor starts deleting any comments referencing the stutters. People continue posting about how UFO4P is, more than likely, causing stutter issues in vanilla games with nothing but UFO4P installed. Arthmoor keeps deleting comments until eventually locking the comments entirely, with a new Pinned message among the sea of other pinned messages. (see top post)

Well, this insufferable little bitch is always whinning.
At least the Unofficial Oblivion Patch isn't made by him.

>No mention of Sonora
THE FUCKING TRANSLATION TEAM FELL APART OR I WOULD PLAY IT.

So fucking mad. All we have is weird machine translations. I'll never learn snow nigger speak in time to enjoy Sonora before we are all playing Fallout IRL.

I think there is room for some more sci-fi elements without it being retarded. Psykers and shit are okay if used sparingly. I don't even mind the weird Eldritch horror stuff Bethesda dipped their toes into with bits of F3/4, though now they have taken it way too far.
with radiation, but decided not to at the last moment.
No, they only decided against it when they ripped out the Skyrim magic system from the code.

They added magic back in in the Nuka World DLC, where you fight a pre-war magician with literal radiation magic that lets him teleport and shit.

People who doesn't like Old Testament/not wanting revenge or just piss off Joshua?
That ending (IMO) is just as valid as Joshua's one.
I'd wish that Joshua was part of a better DLC.
Honest Hearts has good lore and a lot of personality; unfortunately, it also has really boring quests and has that "If kill your enemies, they win" TLOU2 morality. I really dislike how you get a bad ending for killing the white legs leader.
IIRC Emil Pagliarulo, king of the hacks said that he wanted to have witches that casted magic with radiation, but decided not to at the last moment.
The real reason for he giving up is stupider. At the moment of development that he had this retarded idea; "skyrim magic" was already taken out of the engine. Thankfully, Emil is as indolent as he is incapable of good ideas; so he gave up.
