It's who you become. *smokes weed*

And bro is preaching this shit when he's sneaking into the US. A place where you basically have to be born into and even if you look slightly hispanic you can sure as shit count on being paid less. Sounds like a poorly thought out plan

The discord messages have been confirmed as fake by the man himself in the mods #announcements channel.
This guy sounds like a huge faggot, I bet he manufactured the entire conspiracy himself, from the "Mexican developer is being deported", to the "Shame on you, racists, for believing in this story! I am a victim and wordswordswordswords"

He should be crucified for his narcisism

I have this theory/mod idea and I wanted to ask you guys if you think it would work. Do you think FO4's weapon modding system would work better if it was like FNV's where you have to seek them out through merchants and the world? I've had the idea for a while but before I did any real work I wanted to see if there were any glaring issues with it beforehand.

Leak the files, this shit will never come out at this point. Let the fans potentially finish it in the future, just like with Vault 13 Project.
even if the mod itself is unsalvageable you could absolutely strip the custom assets and port them.
I really don't get why mod makers don't do this. Instead of letting your mod die have it up for adoption. At least it might have a chance to be finished (even though it won't be exactly the way the mod author envisioned it)
The worst offenders are the Half Life modders who have impressive mods wither and die on the vine.

Literally his grandchild lol, but due to having been living in the wasteland their entire life the Chosen One would be considered a mutant in the same way the Enclave looked at the wastelanders in Fallout 3.

Edit: Fixed a typo
I personally label grandchildren under the same tag as descendant (it is a nitpick but oh well) to make it clear that the two games are linked heavily via main characters. Lore accurately, I totally agree with your point By coming at this from a realistic perspective I feel like bending this slightly for humor purposes doesn't ruin the initial plot or subtext surrounding tribalism or Eugenics in FO2. There's also an inherent difference and irony that is made clear in the game through Frank Horrigan which, when contrasted with the chosen one seems small in comparison. I was trying to focus on that from a humourous perspective. In short, I am capable of understanding the nuances to the game itself but I'm purposely bending this for solely comedic purposes. Not looking to debate in favour of or against Enclave ideology surrounding the wasteland gene pool.

Explaining this in depth really sucks the life out of my initial post.

Even the weapons in Skyrim are awful looking.
Better-Shaped Weapons is a must have mod, if you want your swords to look like swords, not paddles.

Sure…If you like anorexic looking swords. The swords look as you’d expect for a fantasy setting (no greatsword should be as thin as a rapier or a katana). Granted, I wouldn't expect the same swords in KCD but even then not every sword in KCD is shaped like a rapier. In your defense the images on your post might just look really bad.

A lot of modders are ironically enough extremely protective of the things they create to the point where they will typically force people who use their "original" creations without permission to take them down, which usually succeeds since many modern modding sites are staffed by the same narcissistic hypocrites. Sure they could be a good samaritan and just dump the files of a project they've abandoned for somebody with more passion or talent to finish the job, but then THEY wouldn't be the ones getting the sole credit in the end.

They haven't completed the most important step of being a true and honest artist/creator and that's killing their ego. I understand safeguarding stuff you've made from people who may or may not ruin the whole thing with their different "interpretations" but that usually only applies to things made from the ground up, not mods that are 50% borrowed assets from others more courteous by even allowing such things in the first place.

ID Software and Carmack could have struck down Valve in their infant years for taking their Quake engine to make the Gold Source engine, but they didn't even though there was a chance they could eventually surpass them which they did but the world is now richer in content for it. The original modding spirit is sadly almost extinct now so these projects will just rot on the shelves unfinished forever.

I do like realistic weapons when they're appropriate. The redesigns for Skyrim's clash with its art style and feel too mundane for a fantasy setting.

It's really funny stealth killing every generic NCR trooper in their main bases for their dogtags with Idolized reputation.

"Glad to have you aboa- UGH!"

Look i don't even care if the thing itself releases, if they release this and the other fallout 2 style robots, that alone will make this game 10x better. Make fallout 4 look like fallout again!
So far it all looks good, They need to work on having the models look consistent with each other however. When I saw the locations trailer and saw them use things like the G11 in the same space as the Geckos I could just tell that they were from differing authors who both had different ideas in mind.

Winchester City Killer is a functional design and in-line with how early Fallout portrayed fictional firearms. "Combat Shotgun" from Fallout 3 is a result of someone not knowing how firearms work, taking a look at a PPSh, and proclaiming "Yup, that's a shotgun!" At least the G3 and AK Chinese Assault Rifle make sense, even if the latter seems to be bastardized as well, but to your average normalfag at least it looks like an AK.
This is more a symptom of Bethesda's retarded gun logic, or lack there of due to them not knowing how it works. When they were in charge of designing every single gun in Starfield, EVERY firearm is now a Combat Shotgun tier abomination. Even real world based "Old Earth" firearms are abominations. I suggest looking at the above Starfield video, it goes in-depth on how these guns should not exist, and how they COULD be fixed to be functional fictional firearms. There really is no excuse.
I think the R91 in Fallout 3 wasn't a bad choice to be depicted as the standard American service rifle by 2077.

I don't know if Bethesda was aware of it during development of F3 but IRL during the 50s to 60s when the USA was still figuring out what should be the new 5.56 service rifle they were experimenting with many options beyond the M16.

See the H&R T223, which is basically just an American made version of the HK33. Obviously Bethesda still fucked up by making it based on a G3 but they weren't actually really wrong on this one for once.

For me I like to think that the R91 was the main service rifle of the US Army by the late 2070s since it had better performance in snowy environments like in Canada or Alaaka and also arid environments too such as the Gobi Desert in China.

While the AR-15 looking rifles introduced in FNV were probably only used by USAF Airbase Guards (IRL they got the M16 first) and Special Forces pre-war. Maybe it's also the official rifle for the Marines?

It would make sense because the only pre-war examples of the AR-15 styled guns were all specialized in some way. AKA the Assault Carbine and Marksman Carbine. And the service rifle is a post-war creation based on blueprints and also makes sense as to why it can only fire in semi-auto because NCR grunts probably can't be trusted with full auto.

Fallout 4 is a much bigger pain in the ass to mod for and it has worse, more stripped down gameplay mechanics. Why bother making your big RPG project in a game that doesn't support more than 4 dialogue choices, different kinds of ammo, a proper damage resistance system or anything else New Vegas has by default?
That and they keep updating the game randomly which breaks all of the good mods actually worth a damn.
It's the same reason whenever I play Elder Scrolls I play Oblivion because Bethesda just refuses to leave Skyrim alone and there's nothing more frustrating than finishing your mod list and finally starting to play the game only to have your game bricked the next day because they released a new patch to advertise some random bullshit you don't give a fuck about.

I wish they would do what the Minecraft launcher does and just let you pick a specific version of the game and stick to it. It would certainly circumvent the huge uproar whenever they update the game and the 500 frameworks made by the community break and have to be updated to the new version at a snails pace.

This is correct esp with Bethesda based games. Like when Nexus implemented a system that would automatically permanently archive mods they freaked out and started mass deleting them. Creating lost media in the process entirely because of this. Many are still lost and permanently undownloadable to this day.

This isn't correct. Valve paid for a license for the Quake 1 engine. Reportedly according to developers at the time it was around 500 grand to license. When you licensed a game engine back then it usually meant that you could do w/e you wanted with it but you needed to pay them more to license the next games engine. Like Valve also licensed Quake 2 after it released so they could get its skybox and transparent textures code. Later Valve themselves licensed the Source engine to Respawn Entertainment to make Titanfall, and they later heavily modified it when they made Apex Legends.

Fun fact the name "Goldsrc" didn't exist until Half-Life 2 released and started aggressively promoting itself as running on the "Source" engine. Prior to that Half-Life was just identified as running on the Quake engine. The name "Goldsrc" is a retroactive identifier that comes from how when they started developing HL2 they copied HL1's code into it's own folder called "Gold" (referencing the disk mastering process where when you print a CD it's called "Going gold") just in-case they needed to make another update for it. And after that the "Gold source" code folder started to get referred to around the office as HL1's engine.

A much better example would be Postal 2. Postal 2 runs on the same engine as Unreal Tournament 2003 however it uses Unreal Tournament 99's version of Unrealscript. The general consensus as to why is that Running with Scissors built the game off of a leaked beta of UT2k3 that leaked at some point in 2001/2002. And they just got a proper license to it later from Epic.

I wouldn't know, I haven't updated my game since 2016 when they released Nuka World so I avoided all that drama. 100% of all new mods work for me BTW, and I downloaded a brand new build of the game just for London.

Also, regarding R91, people forget that this rifle was basically a locally made copy of the G3 meant for our NATIONAL GUARD. This somehow became the standard US Army rifle, which replaced a model we have never seen before, and that's with ARs in active service and Soviets lending us their AK-112 rifles for some reason. That would be like US army adopting SIG 550 series rifles over what we have today and replacing our entire stock of M4/M16 platform weapons overnight because some of our police forces might be using them in their precincts. Very interesting lore for weapons we have here, altho I don't see how this would ever explain all the stupid tactiool weapons people always mod into their games, especially in a world where something like the advanced sights would not be possible due to circuit technology never progressing past a certain point(remember, Pip-Boys are basically just portable 80s computers with a UI) and various synthetic polymer materials being non-viable due to the...you know, whole RESOURCE WAR thing.

Interesting and honestly makes more sense now that I think about it. I might have mixed up John Carmack releasing the Doom source code for non-profit use in 1999 with the established Quake/Half-Life connection. A more apt example could also be the time that Wizard-Works released an anthology of approximately 900 fan-made mods dubbed D!ZONE for Doom II and rather than issue a takedown they let them be, instead using it as motivation to hire other modders for more official packs like The Master Levels & Final Doom. A lot of people got to experience their first glimpse into the world of user-generated content because of D!Zone which got them to look further into the scene, thus sort of giving birth to the now longer-running Doom modding community.

The online culture of gaming at the time was a lot more chill-lack in how it viewed user-generated content since the snitches and bureaucrats wouldn't start running amock until the late 2000s. Sharing just for the joy of creation was still the number one reason people did anything rather than clout chasing due to the decentralized nature of the old internet.
