Chris is in a hole now that will just get deeper and deeper with time. The PS4 launch will distract him temporarily but it won't have that same "life upgrade" feeling that he wants. A while back when Chris watched the series "Laguna Beach" he cried at the end because it reminded him of his loneliness. I bet most entertainment media that he used to watch with hope for a happy future now makes him sad for all of his shortcomings. Homer has Marge, Peter has Lois, but Christian has nobody. Even watching his beloved Family Guy probably stings these days. At least MLP and Lego Friends don't remind him of his social outcast status.

Chris appears to be accepting the reality of his situation, just slowly and while simultaneously rejecting it by indulging the reunion fantasy. The response comment to Matt shows that he still holds on to the delusion that his sweetheart is just around the corner and he can simply wait for her. When he drops that delusion and accepts that no one will ever take him as he is, Chris will be devastated. He knows that he is unwilling to change, he just doesn't know if literally nobody will take him for a mate. You and I know that that's the case, but Chris won't admit that he's just an awful person who offers nothing positive to anyone.
