They do - and Barb in particular has been pretty
trigger happy in the past.
Eh there's no proof those guns made it to 14 BLC. Regardless, I think Chris would cower in fear if he was introduced to a handgun. I doubt he'd even know how to load it.
However, that being said. It's remarkably easy to purchase guns in Virgina. Like stupid super easy. Buying from a store is more difficult, but private sale, no problem. As long as he has a valid driver's license he can get one.
Here is a detailed write up on the process to do a private firearm sale in VA from a site highly trusted by kiwis. The person can meet Chris and deny the sale if they feel sketchy about it sure, but he can literally spam the MANY public online sales and eventually get one person who doesn't give a shit.
Even if the person wants to cover their ass they can read this set of questions to Chris, and honestly Chris could probably truthfully pass or just lie. He could totally get one if he really wanted. It's optimistic to assume he has the knowledge of this ability and probably also that he has any intention of owning one. Although, he has pretty easy access to obtaining one should he desire.
The only limiting factor is price. Chris isn't gonna be able to afford an AR-15 Bushmaster or a Saiga-12. Probably wouldn't find an FFL holder who would sell to him either. But a fucking Jimenez or some other .22LR prostitute pistol, no problem. You can get a Jimenez for $100 or less. Autism isn't even a limiting factor.
I think he probably would encounter some resistance trying to obtain a concealed carry permit, but regardless, Virginia is an open carry state, so as long he has it on a holster somewhere he could carry it around almost anywhere that doesn't say NO FIREARMS on the door. Plus like concealed carry is an easy law to ignore if you intend on using a weapon in a crime anyway.
