I don't think she ever used her leash to rein him in, only to make him do her bidding. In fact I think she was the one always strongarmed her way into letting him have what he wants, from that time almost killing a pony to almost killing Snyder.

At one point some guy who worked at stores that Charb used to frequent came here and shared a few things (not sure if it was the same guy who told us about Chris chimping out at Wal Mart at New Year). I remember him noting that Barb exerted a great deal of control over Chris in public and kept him from chimping out, as if he was still a small child.

Whenever Chris displays logical fallacies like stating that Gamestop is against the LGBT community, I have to remind myself that he is, in fact, a thirty-something. Many adolescents don't even operate with such a lack of cognitive understanding.

Given Chris talks less and less about Barb these days, I sometimes imagine she's slowly being absorbed into the hoard, making her life journey complete.

She seems to be involved in the administrative side of Chris' life, based on her attendances at court, but I think in general she either has no idea of what's going on or she's just stopped giving a shit. He's not ready to live as an adult, but she's not exerting control any more. Worst of both worlds.

Maybe that's what he was taught back in school? I can totally see him being taught to apologize and somehow contort it to mean that his victim is obliged to forgive if he does apologize, because I bet the same teachers would be trying to convince his victim to accept the apology during the same short time frame, and that happens to be the same short time span that Chris is capable of connecting actions with reactions.

So perhaps nowadays whoever refuses his apology is automatically going against the teachings of his elementary/high school teachers and therefor a DANG DIRTY TROLL.

Chris is trending on thin ice, even though the protest is online, all he needs is to cause another altercation and it's into jail for him. I don't think he understands what a suspended sentence is, he probably things it's all done and dealt with and the fine was all he had to pay, however I do wonder if it's someone pushing him into this or just himself, he was fine buying Amiibos online and suddenly this.

Chris really does come off as someone who might've grown physically into an adult (if an increasingly androgynous one, surprisingly) but mentally is still a child. Not that it's news to anyone. Naturally that does mean he's like a 5 year old who learned a new trick when he wants something. He knows fairly well what he did wrong - though his limited social functioning means he thinks any social 'trick' he learns is a magical incantation, equivalent to a 'Get What I Want' coupon or something.

Combine that with autism and he still thinks people will do what he says because he phrased the statement in the right way. I'm adding my vote to him likely banning the white knight for her pointing out the obvious and twisting the story to: "It ain't my fault! LGBT discrimination!"
