Chris' TV-fried brain has a severe autistic lack of facial recognition. It also seems he's so egotistical that he only sees what he wants to see. Bob probably helped Chris a lot in college with general education courses. I've seen parents "help" their kids with assignments by just doing them for them. I'm not sure how much he could have helped him with CADD though. Chris's degree is supposed to take two years but he took five, and his biggest known assignments are sub-par. Bob bought a computer in 1982 but I don't think he kept up with computers in the Internet era, so Bob may have been much more familiar with drafting on paper than on a computer.

Barbara has been known to manipulate and has even wanted to spoon with Chris in bed, as well as threatening to lock him out of the house forever if he left again to go across country, so it's (a little possible) that she was receptive to Chris however I think she's starting to get senile so it's more possible that she just thought it was one of her husbands or something.
