[February 2021 - ????] DSP Tries It: Divinity: Original Sin II

I keep putting this game off while it sits installed on my ssd for years.

So I guess I have to play it now that Phil's bumblefucking through it makes me want to play it competently.

Not the biggest crpg fan but even I can't fuck up as bad as Phil is.

No, because your attitude is ain't the same as Phillip boi's to begin with. Take it easy and remember the tips the game offers. Start with classic too, none of us here will judge.

Heck, if you were to do let's sperg DOS2. I totally watch it fam.

ive always been interested in these type of games, but felt to intimidated to play them, i guess when it goes on sale i'll play it, doubt Phil will be done with his playthru before that happens.

If he did turn the difficulty down between streams, what are the giveaways I should look for that will out that the quickest? Obviously he's not going to show the difficulty setting on stream cranked down a notch so what in the gameplay will alert viewers to him trying to game the AI to let him win more?

iirc, difference in damage taken and given
that's basically the big difference in difficulties

If he drops from Classic to Explorer, the following effects apply:

The player gets +50% Vitality, +50% Damage, +30% Armor, +30 Magic Armor, 5% boost to Chances to Hit, 5% boost to Dodge. NPCs get -20% Vitality, -30% Damage, -30% Armor, -30% Magic Armor, 15% penalty to Chances to Hit.

If he drops from Classic to Story:

The player gets +100% Vitality, +100% Damage, +50% Armor, +50 Magic Armor, 5% boost to Chances to Hit, 5% boost to Dodge. NPCs get -40% Vitality, -50% Damage, -50% Armor, -50% Magic Armor, 15% penalty to Chances to Hit. Start with an ability to resurrect allies with 100% Vitality.

What about number of revive scrolls?
You have to find or craft those. Doubt the game would just give away some for free on difficulty change. He seems to be doing fine for now, just deathly slow. 60-90 min battles that should be 10-15 min probably.

the highlight of divinity is the man pig clip

There's more pigs in the swamp so he can talk to his kinsman there.

The easiest way would be to check the armor numbers for enemies, I would imagine. Just start one of the fights on classic and see if the enemies start with the same amount

Wait wait wait... is it even possible to change difficulty mid-game?

Imagine if Phil shops for groceries in the same way he plays this game.
Every single item he picks off the shelf “urgh guys what do you think should I get skimmed milk or semi skimmed milk?
What about a baguette is that better than a loaf? Let me know what you guys think”

Wrong. DSP remembers the taste of sandwiches that he ate 7-8 years ago at a bistro with John when they went to SF2 tournaments, Food is the last thing he would need assistance with.
This thread is going to have a lot of down time cause he plays DOS2 so rarely isn't it?
