Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

Never really heard of a Mobile MMO...
It's its own standalone thing, a way for phone players to experience "the story" of XIV.

OldSchool RuneScape, however, has a phone version of the client and works pretty well (I wouldn't do anything combat related or anything, but it works nice for skilling while you're out and have idle time throughout the day), but this is not that.

Okay so got to what i call the Jew Town where they try to sell you shit and if you dont say a clear no, theyll keep pestering you. What did Yoshi P mean by this?

Also idk if its because i have the in gane voice in Jap, but Wuk Lamat aint as annoying as i thought she would be and the voice seem to fit more in jap than in english. Still kinda annoying that i cant go 10 steps off without her on my ass.

Since the Pelupelu are from FFX, they're probably like that in X as well. There might be more lore there than whatever was adapted into XIV. I never played X past like the first hour (someone lent me their copy back in the day but it was scratched and wouldn't let me go past a certain point).

And yeah, since I switched Wuk to moonspeak, she's been less insufferable and it's mitigated how annoyed I am with her. One thing I can appreciate from the MSQ is that despite her hanging off your coattail the entire time, she's at least mostly learned to stop openly picking fights by running her mouth in circles. Tiny bit of character development. But it's gonna take way more than that for me to start treating her neutrally.

My spicy mcnugget take is that if I had to pick between Wuk and Sphene, I would choose Wuk. She's annoying but at least her character makes sense.

Kind of wierd they completely removed interrupting as a mechanic besides wierd exceptions like this or Hermes. Maybe they could give interrupts to healers so we have something to do between eating crayons and mashing 1?
Hire me, Yoshi. :bogged:
What’s funny is that trusts in dungeons are more competent with stuns and interrupts than actual players. I did Ktsis with trusts during Endwalker once and Emet (who did the tanking) actually interrupted Hermes’s big move, something I never see most actual players do. Also I take it the 7.1 changes to esuna did nothing to convince healers to actually use it because I still never see them use the spell and I’ve dealt with seeing constant preventable deaths and wipes Because of it.

Speaking of trusts they can be a real crap shoot though. Urianger and Alphinaud seem to prefer playing floor tank instead of healer many times and I’ve had at least two instance of wiping to a boss because one or both of them gets killed sitting in an aoe. I remember Estinien loldrg’ing on the floor in Dead Ends and Alphinaud thought it would be cool to join him while leaving me and Y’shtola barely hanging on. We only beat that boss because I was on WAR and slammed cooldowns. At least I got my Starbird minion for my troubles.

>Im DRK
>Doing leveling roulette
>healer is a sprout and asks me to go slow
>i obliged
>Dps dragoon complains that we are going slow
>starts to go ahead and pull agro
>i intentionally let him pull agro
>Dragoon dies
>Leaves
I swear dragoons are perpetual faggots who love lances shoved in their puckered assholes.

Or you can use Unleash to instantly grab enmity with a single hit, solving this issue within the span of one GCD at no cost to yourself. If the healer is actually so terrible that they can't heal you while doing a normal pull due to being a newby, I'm sure mr. DRG will acquiesce to make the dungeon smoother once he realizes it. Maybe he was testing the waters?
Most of the time - in my experience - new players assume they are far worse than they actually are, and are in fact capable of wall to wall'ing like a normal player if given the opportunity to try. When there's a shitty / new tank I will pull stuff into him as a way to test if he's terrible or just nervous and adjust healing accordingly, if he can't handle the extra enemies somehow, and teaching him about CD's does nothing I'll just stop and AFK while my fairy heals the dungeon. I tend to follow the; "I'll try one normal pull. If he messes it up and doesn't ask for a retry/help, we're baby pulling this dungeon pack by pack for the next 40 minutes like he wanted" strategy and it works more often than not. Of course if I'm playing healer and the incompetent player is the tank we can usually just pull ahead anyways by spamming heals on myself and bursting the trash without him (God forbid he's one of those "you pull it you tank it" subhumans, I've had to humble more than a few of those by tanking as healer to save my teammates) but this is usually a last resort when someone refuses to cooperate.
Some of them are actually terrible at the game and refuse to learn but I've found that most players are pretty good and pick things up quickly if gently pushed into the deep end of the pool. It's ultimately a team game, so being able to adapt to many different opinions and skill levels is important... That is to say, I think you shouldn't have let mr. DRG die. He and the healer just had a difference of opinion and they're both party members so both get a say in how the dungeon should be run. This seems like a communication issue.
Sorry for wall of text, I'm very invested in party dynamics for some reason. I just want everyone to get along *sigh*

Thing is that the sprout healer was new and the sprout told me he was having struggle getting the hang of it so he asked to play slow. The dragoon just got impatient because he wanted to finish fast and he was being a faggot about it, it wasnt a testing the waters thing since i clearly at one point in the dungeon did a big pull just to test the healer and he barely could keep up. Like i get your argument, but no this was just a case of an asshole expecting sprouts to be god tier players with perfect rotations.

I have no problem slowing down when I tank if the healer asks. Usually most of the time, they just need to get their bearings first and after the first pull or 2 they ask me to speed it up. This mostly only happens when I do leveling roulettes.

If they don't say anything, I default into wall to wall. If they can't keep up then I slow down unless they tell me to pull again. If they let me die a second time after telling me to pull more, I slow down regardless of what anyone says. Wiping multiple times and having to run back because the healer can't keep up is more of a time waster than just single pulling. Sure, it takes longer, but less longer than wiping.

If someone is too impatient and retarded to understand how illogical it is to waste even more of everyone's time by forcing the healer to try to heal through something they can't do yet, then they might as well just take the 30min penalty or ask for a vote kick.

Its usually in leveling roulettes when i get sprouts or people that are struggling to understand the class/role. I dont mind since they are learning and we've all been there, so they tend to get a pass and i try to help them when i can. Although i wont lie i tend to just go balls to the wall with DRK which has gotten me yelled at because i was too reckless.....although little did they know i jave zero regard for myself when i have living death staring at me, waiting for it to be pressed.

I've also made it a habit to use Hallowed Ground off cooldown when I'm PLD during large pulls since I don't need it for boss fights and the pull dies fast enough to where I'm not threatened at all, even if the healer completely stops healing to help dps. I have more than enough tools as a PLD to keep myself alive.

Sure, you can swap into some paradox lines for high-movement if you haven't been banking swifts and triples that does dogshit damage compared to the core rotation if you want to move around for extended periods or you for some reason don't like slidecasting. I'm lying, of course, because he's using swifts and triples to hit the B3s in that rotation. Given that you're generally primed to use swifts / triples for damage over mobility already, even just the choice to bank them for mobility segments you know about is a technical loss. Using them for B3, the move that nonstandard was designed to completely trim from the rotation, is even worse.

Meanwhile, PCT can just breeze through their normal rotation with abundant mobility without having to make any particular tradeoffs. While doing more damage. And providing more RDPS. And not having buttons they literally don't press under any circumstances.
I'm still mad that PCT is deadbrain easy and has way better mobility than BLM and has better damage, should be 1/3-2/3 not 3/3.

Recently started doing the trusts and duty supports because leveling past 70 in a DPS job ATM is currently painful and starts to take time...
I did that exact same dungeon and the first thing I noticed was the missing DRK plunge because that's what emet does to engage every fight...

Regarding the tank talk in dungeons.
If it was anyone who was at least decent playing WAR it would of probably been fine unless it was a REALLY low lvl queue that you ended up lvl sync'ing to. I'd argue that a healer is not necessary for most dungeons unless it requires team mechanics, and you'd prefer them to instead try to focus in DPS.
Not sure why I've recently ran into some really passive healers from lvling roulettes? Also, Holy got a really good buff, not seeing that and Esuna as much as I'd like...?

Plunge got yeeted in 7.0 along with Trajectory for Gunbreaker
Pretty sure Plunge got replaced with Shadowstride and Trajectory is the new GNB skill replacing the old gapcloser. Not that it makes much of a difference, you still get enmity from it, just don't need to weave it into rotations anymore.
