I remember the website had my computer running like a vacuum. Some theorized Sam was mining bitcoin off our rigs. Then, despite the static camera angles, there were constant technical issues. All worth it. S1 is the most I’ve ever been hooked to a reality TV show.

It's unbelievable how bad Fatty makes the show whenever he's there. Particularly after this season, I don't know how anyone can like him.

All of his "bits" were screeching loudly non stop - so much so that either the audio was ruined or the people around him completely stopped talking/doing anything - or doing a baby voice equivalent to nails on a chalkboard. He completely sucked all energy out of the people around him, and in a way that was not even remotely entertaining. He tortures the audience more than he does the fish.

At least in a regular season you could just swap to another room and not have to see or listen to him, but this season there was no escape. I literally stopped watching and closed the stream whenever he appeared or was audible and only started watching again later when he was gone.

Fatty was great when he was doing his bit as the Duke's henchman earlier in the season but once he started doing that Gilbert Gottfried voice my fucking god did he become insufferable. I have a high tolerance for his annoying shit but I could not stand it at all. Someone (Sam was right there) needed to tard wrangle his ass and just didn't.

Plus Sam brought in the insane amount of wood for that bunkbed building challenge that they had to deal with for the rest of the season.Just look at the stupidity here. TJ and Tayleigh spend 3-4 hours cleaning B1 up and making it somewhat functional only for production to issue a challenge and immediately fuck it up by midnight. Rendering the room unusable once again. The last 15 days of the show had a huge problem with debris making it impossible for them to do any sort of challenge or skits because there was mounds of it everywhere.

1. Zoomers used to smart phones trying to deal with a flip phone
2. Random ass number that whoever they're calling probably won't answer. Leading them to wasting simp bux or calling multiple times.
3. Can only call whoever's number they remember.
4. Actually talking on a phone.
5. Happening at random times. Jet comes up at like 4am and hands them the phone.

Plus being a cheap prepaid phone if the number gets leaked they can just get another.

The room/wall smashing in season 2 to me always reeked of desperation. Like they knew the season had gone to shit and they were desperately trying anything they could to stir up drama or make things interesting.

I had that shit going almost 24/7. Even had a tablet on a stand near my bed running re-streamers because the website didn't work for shit on android. Also had it going on my phone while at work.
That is until Fatty showed up and I very shortly lost interest after.

fatty was far more tolerable this season. i will never forget s1 fatty who was super sensitive and almost NEVER in a good mood. happy fatty is a better fatty, and so is every other contestant.
except for jon, he's only funny when he's breaking down and having a tantrum.
s1 was a new frontier and it had many many boring moments, but we all loved it. s2 was unwatchable. 2.5 was a silly fun little time and i'm really glad they pulled it off.

i'm hoping they lay off the torture aspect in s3 because it completely ruins the entire thing. challenges are one thing, forced puking and head shaving is another.

This season they were well fed, well rested, and had lots of things to do to keep them active and occupied. I really hope the wiggersquad learned a lot from this season and s3 isn't a repeat of s2.

exactly, they'll all start to become withdrawn and depressed and provide zero content.
its not even like you'd leave out any of the edginess or dark/subversive humor that is the essence of fishtank by not making them miserable all the time.
crazy punishments, challenges, and even gross out humor is fine but it has to be like you said, used at the right times and not relied on as a "we're dropping viewers bcus theres nothing going on" which is going to be 30% of the show no matter what

The cell went live around 5:30. Jet, Jimmy, Creature, Trish, Oddbod, Tai, Duanyay, Tayleigh, Vance, and Wes were in there. Everyone left the room after a few minutes and Jet spoke to the camera. "You're going to be seeing more of the cell in the off-season". He said they will do the cell between seasons but it wont always be occupied. He said he'll try and find people to inhabit it, with a potential leaderboard of who stays the longest. Also the new episodes are coming soon and Jet will be making an announcement tomorrow. Crew is now all gone and going out to the city for the night. The cell has been empty with TTS and sound effects playing since like 5:50. Wes is the last person to be on cam who leaves after saying "FUCK ifunny".

I think another strength of 2,5 was that it was only 2 weeks. This allowed them to focus more on the bits and narrative. S1 and S2 had a lot of boring downtime and pointless filler.
