When did he say this, was it early into the show? If so, this might've been before the reveal of everyone being plants, and so he might've been pretending not to have watched it to not get exposed as a plant.

The line between Fish, Freeloader, and Production can get muddy at times. Ollie is a Freeloader but he's been effectively buck broken into being a lowly fish. Nifty was a Freeloader pushed to Producer tier by being given immunity from fish harassment. Frank is floating somewhere between Freeloader and Producer; he's allowed to leave the tank at night and sleep where he wants, he's judged beefs, and overseen competitions. The only thing keeping him from being a Producer is that fish are allowed to fuck with him the hardest. The fish assumed Fatty would be the same since he immediately went to bossing people around and awarding points but the bubble has just been popped. He's a Freeloader and he's free game
