Was there any doubt about who would win this final?

Not doubt but at least a tiny bit of hope that Dortmund would pull through.

There are four possible scenarios bc the DFB cup winner also plays international:

1) Leverkusen wins the DFB Cup, Dortmund wins CL
Leverkusen, Stuttgart, Bayern, Leipzig, Dortmund and Frankfurt play CL
Hoffenheim plays Euro League
Heidenheim plays Conference League play-offs

2) Leverkusen wins the DFB Cup, Dortmund doesn't win CL.
Leverkusen, Stuttgart, Bayern, Leipzig, Dortmund play CL
Frankfurt and Hoffenheim play EL
Heidenheim plays Conference League play-offs

3) Kaiserslautern wins DFB Cup, Dortmund wins CL
Leverkusen, Stuttgart, Bayern, Leipzig, Dortmund and Frankfurt play CL
Hoffenheim and Kaiserslautern play Euro League
Heidenheim plays Conference League play-offs

4) Kaiserslautern wins DFB Cup, Dortmund doesn't win CL
Leverkusen, Stuttgart, Bayern, Leipzig, Dortmund play CL
Frankfurt and Kaiserlautern play Euro League
Hoffenheim plays Conference League play-off
Heidenheim gets nothing

So it's scenrio number 2. Europa League is good enough for my Frankfurt boys.

After the first half ended 0-0, that was basically it. Dortmund had to score and force Madrid to play differently but never did. For all the chimping out Vini Jr does, he absolutely abused the Dortmund right back. And the way Dortmund were playing/had to play, they got tired after about 65 minutes. It was only a matter of time before they broke down. At the very least, Dortmund proved they deserved to be there.

All of this pales in comparison to City's 117(?) ffp charges. Does anyone pay attention to the English league and know what is happening with this?
Still in the discovery phase (Not sure what this is called). From what I have heard, its going to take a long time to bring all the evidence against City due to all 117ish charges against them. And since there is no statute of limitation on these charges for England compared to UEFA, they are gonna take their sweet time in order to get all the charges against them

Vini is also a tard.

Vini chimped out

For all the chimping out Vini Jr does

Ayy, cool it with the racism!

JK, I would have been more supportive of Vini Jr. if he didn't eat up the hype as this stalwart against racism and just did his thing to shut up the naysayers and racist faggots, because let's face it, the guy is damn good when not chimping out.

Now all I hear in the local sports media is Vini Jr. this, Vini Jr. that, Ballon D'Or for him, racists BTFO and whatnot.

Also, just you wait when Endrick is instated in Real Madrid. The kid developed his skills in Palmeiras even quicker than Vini Jr. in Flamengo.

AFAIK a good chunk of their charges are much worse than what Everton and Nottingham Forest have been charged and got points deductions for, so they know they've got to set a precedent here for if other teams do it.

For context, these are their alleged charges:
  • 7x Breaching Premier League's PSR rules 2015-16 to 2017-18. (the same charge that Everton and Nottingham Forest received)
  • 54x Failure to provide accurate financial information 2009-10 to 2017-18.
  • 14x Failure to provide accurate details for player and manager payments from 2009-10 to 2017-18.
  • 5x Failure to comply with Uefa's rules including Financial Fair Play (FFP) 2013-14 to 2017-18.
  • 35x Failure to co-operate with Premier League investigations December 2018 - Feb 2023.
Most teams in the PL want to see them get a harsh penalty like relegation or at least a huge points deduction, but it's been 16 months since they got charged and we've had no update. Rumours are that Pep is planning on leaving at the end of next season so I wouldn't be surprised if they impose their decision after he's left.

I heard some Arab government had given our ambassador hints of reprisals if any punishment is handed out.
Relegating them just means a championship team won't get the promotion they deserve. Close the club.

If they go up for that certain season. But when they get demoted, thats a premier league club that won't get demoted for a year. I would just like to see them relegated to league 1 and have a 60 point deduction placed on them. Almost guarantee a relegation to League 2 and having to play under the EFL financial fair play rules. Would be way funnier to see them have to struggle through that.

Fraudizio Romano is saying Mbappé has officially signed with Real Madrid.
one of the worst kept secrets

The comunicado has dropped

Contrarian take about Mbappe to Madrid:
It won’t be as successful as everyone thinks. Vinicius, Rodrygo and Mbappe are all right footed forwards who prefer to play as an inverted winger on the left. It’s worked with just Mbappe and Rodrygo so far, but it will be hard for Ancelotti to have a balanced lineup with all 3.

Also, for the first half of the final Dortmund were able to pass right through that midfield. If they were more clinical, they would’ve killed the game off in the first half, and I think we all knew they were going to lose when it was scoreless at halftime.

Maybe this is just cope but I don’t think they will be as good as it looks on paper.

I don't think it will be successful right away. It will take some time to adjust to having those 3 playing together. You also have to add Endrick into the mix at some point. But I don't think it will be a full disaster because of one factor. They are all super young. The oldest player is Militao at 26. Valverde and Mbappe are 25, Diaz and Tchouameni are 24, Rodrygo and Vini are 23, Camavinga is 21, Bellingham is 20, Guler is 19, and Endrick is 17. That is a dangerous core of players that they have set up without needing to go out and purchase players right away. Then you add to the fact that they are not really spending out their ass to get these players. They are going to be good for a long time.

That reminds me of countless Real Madrid games over the past few years

Any premier league enjoyers feel like giving a brief scouting report of Douglas Luiz? He is strongly linked to Juve in a swap deal for Weston McKennie. It doesn’t make much sense to me as McKennie is a technically poor footballer and from what I’ve seen of Luiz, he’s quite good. Villa obviously wants some cash in the deal but apparently not much (10-25M).

Manchester City chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak says he is "frustrated" at the club’s on-pitch achievements being accompanied by repeated reminders of the 115 Premier League charges lodged against them.
Noo stop pointing out we cheated like fuck every time we talk about all our accomplishments from the times we cheated like fuck.

City are challenging the rules that say their owners can't sign bullshit overvalued sponsorships with them to help pad out their PSR values:

What have City said?

The Times, external says it has seen a 165-page legal document in which Premier League champions City claim they are victims of "discrimination", that the amended rules were approved by rivals to "stifle" their success on the pitch, and call it "a tyranny of the majority".
Lol. LMAO even.

Lol guess they're not optimistic over the case if they're flailing like this

Surely suing the league that you're playing in is a recipe for disaster right? There's no way the prem are gonna be that soft on them considering what they're alleging.

I know it was just a friendly, but it was great to see Mexico get crushed by Uruguay 4-0 yesterday.
Canada lost to Netherlands 4-0 as well. Hopefully the 2026 hosts are not all jinxed to lose friendlies 4-0 because there's one more host playing on Saturday....

Not a huge watcher of Aston Villa so can't give you a great scouting report on him. All I know is that he isn't guaranteed to go to Juve. Liverpool and Arsenal are sniffing around as well. His contract is up in 2026, which is why Villa are probably looking to cash in with him. They probably can't extend him so sell him now and get that plus transfer money to beef up the squad, like they did with Grealish

Ask Everton and Forest how that went for them
