BuT iT wAs foRsHadoWeD SIncE sEaSoN oNe! Seriously though, if we go by the logic that her indifference to viserys death as an early sign, then Sansa and Tyrion (and many more) are even worse considering Tyrion murders his father and threatens his nephew with death and mutilation or that Sansa herself showed little to no reaction to Rickon as well as her killing Ramsey.
One of my main criticisms of the Night King being killed before the Iron Throne plot was resolved was that it meant that it would not matter who'd end up on the throne, since at best, it would be someone ruling for a few years and doing a good job, before utter chance sets up a heir or new ruler, whereas the worst possible outcome was someone ruling for a few years and doing a bad job, before utter chance sets up a heir or new ruler.
That is to say: Even in the worst case scenario of someone going full "Mad King" levels of crazy and burning down thousands of people while ruling with an iron fist, this person would eventually die and be replaced.
This would mean, that nothing really was at stake any longer.
Then came the rest of the episodes and oh boy, did they deliver more than I bargained for.
D&D shat on the character development and arcs of a whole lot of characters, killing them off or twisting them into ridiculous and stupid ways, but what we end up in the Iron Throne plot is just absurd.
You know, now I'm morbidly curious to see what D&D will do to star wars. They basically jumped on a sinking ship and their bad record with Game of thrones follows them. They'll probably hated there too, just not to the extent of Ruin Johnson and Kathleen Kennedy
It's kind of ironic, really.
D&D were seen as the best thing since sliced bread when GoT was at its height. Now that they are done with GoT and change over to Star Wars, they managed to piss off pretty much everyone on every side of the political spectrum just in time.
They were taken under contract when they were hot shit, now they are just shit.
It's kind of like with Carrie Fisher. They decided to make IX about Leia and Carrie Fisher (sadly) died after TLJ was finished.
Star Wars, once again, bet on the wrong horse.
And I agree, I want to see them make a Star Wars movie or even trilogy, these hacks will surely deliver some top notch entertainment. Just not the way how Disney wants them to.
