Investigator here. Ame is definitely not the type that overshares info. On the contrary, she is especially tight-lipped when it comes to behind-the-scene matters, even if it is about her own projects. Heck, most of the time she wouldn't even want to reveal her collab partners until the others have confirmed it themselves.

That's a shame. It's not Iroha's fault.

I can see where people are coming from because IRyS lives in Japan and should, by all accounts, come first. On top of that, she isn't tied to any genmates like Calli was so one would simply have to hope that she's getting the Nene treatment prior to 3D.

If not, I find it very hard to justify skipping her again. Even though she is clearly appreciated by her peers, she does come off as the unwanted retarded half-sister by the company to someone from the outside looking in.

They should just let Redjuice do the base designs for her and generic-anime-art-ify them into something actually usable in 3D and Live2D.

Having IRyS perform as a cardboard cutout is pretty funny to see but yeah, they fucked her over with that design. Hope she gets taht shit sorted out as I would love to see her and Azki collab more.

this, already said it with the rushia incident, but I get the feeling lot of people here never worked in a big corp or even office. there's a threshold, no one is gonna fire you for taking a ballpoint pen home, even if it's technically "stealing company property". doesn't even have to be intentional or malicious, and it doesn't matter if you plan (and do) bring it back the next day - it's still theft. of course you also can expect that the company will go all out if they want to get rid of you (but that's usually the case in any labor dispute), to be on the "safe" side legally and depending how big the public front is for PR. a single pissed off manager is enough to publicly label you a thief, and he wouldn't be wrong.

or to give an example fitting for this thread: take irys. obviously cover can't or won't do anything about her model for now, and can't or won't say anything about it. now let's say she gets so frustrated to pay out of her own pocket for a new one to stream under the irys persona, which in turn would still generate money for cover. everybody would agree that's a win/win, right? and we all know it's better to ask for forgiveness later.
except who owns that persona? this is important if she ever jumps ship. who controls what it looks like, because if she does it on her own it won't necessarily follow the guidelines and other aspects cover wants in an avatar. and dozen of other stuff most people (me included) couldn't even think of.
of course all of that will be in some form in the contract the size of a light novel, but even then there's still enough vagueness baked in either intentional or not because no one can foresee everything, and the company wants to hold some leverage too. so even if everything was done with good intentions and a net benefit for everyone involved, it can still be considered enough of an issue for the company to just nuke everything - which of course wouldn't make sense for most people, but then most people don't understand business or under what terms a company operates.

I just find it funny that a forum which laughs about stupid people on the internet still kinda falls completely for whatever a company says. there are two sides to every story, and when it comes to something like this we know even less than we usually do, unless someone posts the fucking contract, internal company policies and reviews, which would still be only the shit that actually gets put on paper, not what else happened and lead to that point.
before people rage with stickers, this doesn't mean that one side is always innocent and one always guilty. cover doesn't look like a black company, but it's still a company in the end and employer/employee often have different perspectives on things and how to do them, more so with creatives (for the non-boomers out there, look up TAFKAP). like most issues, there's a lot of contributing factors and the truth is somewhere in the middle.

have been wondering for a while how much a studio cost to rent in japan, given even eroge can do full blown mocap some AAA only dream of (and iirc cover has it's own studio).
I'd assume while being expensive everything's much more concentrated in japan to get a quick and easy enough return of that investment if you rent it out.

home3d shouldn't be an issue, gen0 only ever had 3d, and then some like korone or nene might still prefer l2d for all the shenanigans that would take much longer in 3d. but even then shipping that stuff out should be faster and easier than getting everyone to japan, but don't know how much nipland is still a bitch over the chink coof.

most of her stuff is in english, or at least enough to "get" what she's about. as you said you can't watch everything anyway, so there will always be stuff you miss one way or another, be it schedule or language.
I think in the end it comes down to how you want to interpret the term (lot of people treat it like waifu which doesn't really fit imo) and how you go about it. for example I still like to watch prune when I get the chance (granted it helps that she doesn't stream that often), even when she's way too small to have translators in chat, just to boost her numbers a bit in support (and while I don't understand moon it's still enjoyable enough to watch on the side), mainly due to her post way back to ask people to cancel their membership since she can't do it from the hospital and can't stream either - of course it could just be fishing for pitybux or other stunts, but this is something everybody needs to decide on their own.

Look at the whole variety, from Debi to Korone to Watame to Coco, Gura, Reimu, the fairy with giant tits and Pikamee's three-in-one, what the fuck possessed Cover's EN branch to see Irys and pick whatever first draft entered the mail?! Or rather looking twice, Irys must have had other designs before her current one, no one thought to review one of the simpler ones?

If there's ever an example of Cover bias in favor of JP talents, it's this 3D announcement. I could understand skipping Council - five overseas girls is a lot of work and priorities should be made - but ID 2 and IRyS? IRyS especially given she's been inside the JP 3d studios multiple times now and has enough songs for concert events. Hiding behind the "Redjuice is busy" meme isn't going to fly for much longer. Reddit Holofans are retarded, but their patience isn't unlimited. If there isn't an announcement by her anniversary, then even that circlejerk is going to riot.

IRyS yes. ID2 and Council no. Japan only opens this month and their predecessors had to make compromises just to get what they got.

A Tokyo-based V-Singer that cannot take the stage being overlooked is really difficult to take in stride. It's literally the purpose her position was opened. V-Singers are meant for the music production and big performances.
