Extreme is really good. Sometimes it's trying too hard to fit that 90s edge, but if you ignore it there is a lot of good stuff in it. The only thing I find annoying is that they say Egon is too old to be a Ghostbuster, when they clearly state he's only 39. Harold Ramis was at that age when filming the movie. Other than that, there's a lot of good episodes and it's fun to watch the new characters.

Yeah, once you give it a chance it's shockingly good. Way better than it has any right to be. It was also very dark at times, quite a bit of murder in that cartoon. Plus there was an episode where the ghosts/demons were clearly inspired by the Cenobites from the Hellraiser series.

Extreme Ghostbusters is proof that a 3rd movie that was a "passing of the torch" kind of film could have worked. Ray and Winston leading a new group while Murray makes a cameo? Sign me up.

Yeah. To have that sort of set up for a movie would have been great. Unfortunately, sequels won't sell as well a reboots. And because I assume the new movie will sell like fucking gangbusters, I expect new cartoons and sequels up the ass.

Gaffer thinks the new Ghostbusters is like Rise/Dawn of the Planet of the Apes quality wise:

The new TMNT movies are garbage compared to Ghostbusters. What a terrible comparison. A better comparison in terms of reboot quality is the new Planet Of The Apes movies.

Have fun in missing out on the only good non-comic book blockbuster film of 2016 so far. Correction, the other one is Nice Guys. Also, the 3D is amazing.

(this guy posted a picture of himself bringing his 8 year old cousins to a PG-13 film)

Remember kids, a movie should not stand by their own merits but how much buzz... I mean... cultural relevance it creates:

The backlash is literally as much part of this movie as the movie is at this point.

This has been a borderline cultural watershed moment in terms of sexism and geek culture.

Pretending it hasn't been a major thing since day zero is more insulting than taking time to address it even curtly.

So agenda is good, but there is no agenda you paranoid neckbeard,

I'm just so glad this movie has given me so much entertainment without me having to buy a ticket.

So let's say you're one of the many attempting to do damage control on the Ghostbusters movie as the reviews come back mediocre-at-best and hostile-at-worst. What do you do? Do you attempt to address Paul Fieg's open hostility towards critics, which essentially were guaranteed to draw ridicule? Do you acknowledge some of the points of the opposition with positive candor and try to point to the movie's strengths? Do you attempt to bridge the gap between the old fans and the new fans to try to force reflection?

Pfft, no, you blame Gamergate for it.

it's just a bunch of fat mra nerds with too much time on their hands
Isn't GamerGate dead? What could be accomplished from using aside from getting salt from the anti-ghostbuster group and those sided for GamerGate?

Gamergate's been irrelevant for almost a year now, but it's become another Social Justice bogeyman alongside MRAs, the alt-right, and white supremacist capitalist patriarchy.

BREAK YOUR SILENCE DISLIKE A OLD FILM

http://archive.is/F3Cha

If you dislike the 1984 Ghostbusters—or even if you just think it’s merely OK—for the sake of mankind, it’s time to break your silence

For the sake of mankind you must get involved in a internet slapfight!

Then again, GAF:

Likes being a huge hypocrite:

Ghostbusters 2016 | Your childhood sucked anyway

OH

MY

GOD

This. THIS has to be the one.

I actually like Ghostbusters 2 better, like the time critic. Just don't think is a good opinion or one that matters in the cultural internet gender war

Still waiting for the worlds smartest critic to give his two cents.

Cole will piss off everyone because he won't call it a powerful tribute to strong wymyn, nor will he cry about it ruining his nostalgia. He'll call it a shit movie not because it is, but because he considers it beneath his pretentious self.

"It was made in America, so it's clearly inferior to my expensive imported video of a quadriplegic burmese girl trying to sell her goat for a plastic spoon."

"This travesty of a film clearly reinforces the capitalistic mindset whereas spectral phenomena are seen as problems that must be delegated to so called professionals who only desire to make money. As opposed to the community values and quasi socialistic principles inherent in The Lego Move I find the this trend disturbing."
