NGL I feel really bad for the girlfriend.
Only bird girl I've known was my ex, so I can't say I have enough experience to agree or disagree. FWIW my ex wasn't crazy, just depressed and not good with communication. Plus I liked her bird. (Green cheeked conure). Cute little fella, when he wasn't drawing blood with his beak.I don't. Bitch has a Macaw, I've never know a bird girl who wasn't completely psycho
Since when? If you're a citizen, can't you do whatever you want? It's only permanent residents that have to spend X amount of time in the country to keep their status. Is Thunt a secret American, lying to cover up some sort of divorce goings-on, or just an idiot?Of course, as a Canadian citizen, I've reached the point where I legally have to return to Canada.
Basically they keep bouncing back and forth between the US and Canada, visiting the US on the "tourist visa," which doesn't require an actual visa due to travel agreements between the two countries. They can stay in the US visa-free for up to six months at a time. So what they keep doing is makxng out their tourist time in the US, going back to Canada and hanging out for a cooldown period, and then running back to the US to do the same thing all over again. It's legally a bit of gray area (if the US isn't a fan of how often and long they're staying, they can revoke those privileges at any point, especially if they suspect that they're doing so to evade getting an actual visa) and it's a disgustingly irresponsible way for a middle aged person to live. This is why they keep ending up housing insecure, because they keep giving up whatever arrangements they have in Canada to keep running back in Alabama and living with the "polycule" there. What on earth is the dude talking about on his blog?

It becomes pretty goddamn crystal clear when you look at their alt Twitter account (where they openly brag about living in a polycule in Alabama) as well as the pattern of their excuses for e-begging. It was just back in January/February that they banged on about how they had to return to Canada and how they were going to be homeless and how literally no one they knew in Canada could let them stay with them. (Which, like, if you're in your 40s, how do you fail so hard at having friends that you can't crash on literally *anyone's* couch?*)I feel terminally square for not realizing he was making visa runs like a Thai sexpat. Except he's also the ladyboy in this scenario.

How is your day going? Because it seems like Ellipsis has fucked around and found out. Maybe next time don't blow the literal tens of thousands donated to you every few months on an unsustainable lifestyle just so you can keep running down to Alabama and fucking your much younger girlfriend. Accept that LDRs involve long periods without physical time together, get your shit together, and do the work necessary to turn the relationship into a short distance one properly. When I was following him more actively, Hunt was notoriously awful at anything that vaguely resembled responsible adult activity, so I'm not surprised he fumbled something as simple as calling to reserve a hotel. It is a little weird how he's seemingly dealing with a bunch of people who speak English as a second language. I mean, it's not impossible depending on where he is in the US, but it's not hard to spot the similarities between his apparent difficulty speaking with the mechanic and now the front desk clerk. Given his history of lying, especially as a way to deflect blame or responsibility, it seems like these interactions are, at best, very exaggerated, if not fabricated entirely.I'll let others speculate why the guy at the front desk would initially not think he'd spoken to Ellipsis, but waiting until the last goddamn minute to book hotels and motels at 1 in the morning (note the time, on the tweets, I'm EST) is such a dumb shit move. Not only do you pay more, but you're going to end up with shitty selection like this.
Even in a scenario like the one they've encountered where they were delayed for a couple of days by a car repair (which for once they didn't resort to e-begging for; instead they grudgingly maxed out their credit card) you estimate how far you're reasonably going to travel for the day, then call and book the room (or better yet, reserve the room online so you have written confirmation) as far as you can in advance.
So they're in Canada right now, which makes more non English speakers plausible. However, I agree that their interactions could be exaggerated to make themselves sound more sympathetic. When I was following him more actively, Hunt was notoriously awful at anything that vaguely resembled responsible adult activity, so I'm not surprised he fumbled something as simple as calling to reserve a hotel. My bad, didn't realize they were back in Canada. The two issues still seem shockingly similar, and just seems to fit the pattern of "you won't believe what happened/why I'll need even more money" that I remember from Hunt. Is there a lot known about his new girlfriend? I started getting back into Hunt lore around the time of the divorce, but only recently heard anything about her when he made his initial trip to the US to see her.So they're in Canada right now, which makes more non English speakers plausible. Also, given how often I've seen Ellipsis downplay the animosity between themselves and the ex-wife (who still loves them very much but for some reason wouldn't even let them crash for a day or two at the house they used to share, and is apparently threatening to take ownership of the Goblins IP) I feel like this tweet can be translated to "we're fighting and my girlfriend is realizing what a fucking mistake this whole venture has been."

All I know about her is that she's from Alabama, that she's part of a polycule with Ellipsis, she apparently wears a collar for Ellipsis, and she appears to be at least 15-20 years Ellipsis 's junior. My bad, didn't realize they were back in Canada. The information I've cleaned is from Ellipsis's posts on her alt Twitter, which she links to from her main account. There's a couple of women and a dude in the polycule. As far as I can tell ex wife wasn't involved in this one.IIRC, I saw people over on the bad webcomics wiki thread saying she was around early to mid 20's, but I couldn't find any sources and didn't do too much digging through the thread. Is there any info on who else is in their apparent polycule? The thread I was reading made it sound like his ex-wife was part of it, presumably before the "ex" was part of her title. Or is there someone/someones else involved in this new(ish) coupling?
Today's update: Ellipsis discovers that RVs suck. Girlfriend is definitely going to love living like this, considering she was living in an actual house beforehand.
Also, yeah, unless the landlord paid to have a specific power hookup set up for the RV, Ellipsis is not going to have enough power for their equipment. So, maybe more delays to new Goblins pages?
