The complete version is far better. It comes with all the DLC installed and fully compatible (1.7 and 1.8 require mods to work right, and the radio won't play DLC stations in the base game out of the box), and has all the benefits of 1.8 and then some.
CE also has changed radio stations (in fact, i think they may have originated from CE). It's also still fucked over, R* fixed 0 bugs when releasing it. The reason why I say that 1.0.8.0 is best is becuase many mods are 1.0.8.0 only, such as ZolikaMenu.

You also don't lose EFLC if you downgrade. In fact, there is no way to buy GTA IV digitally now without also buying EFLC.

the worst aspect: that's a tough one but i'd say the technicals especially the framerate, i think either version isnt really a technical powerhouse and my preferred version is the PS2 which really chugs on the second island. PSP is mostly stable but then with that youre getting a kinda worse looking game with worse controls and it still has those weird audio issues the cutscenes of these PSP era GTAs have
VCS was built on the same engine as LCS, yet it performed worse than LCS. Why is that?

I remember seeing cars upside down under a bridge downtown.

That's because CE is new, and most mods haven't been updated to work with it yet. This will be rectified over time, and the big bug fix mods have already been updated to work for it.
It's been 4 years since CE released.

Unless some massive mod becomes CE only, we're gonna have mods either be both 1.0.8.0 and CE compatible, or only 1.0.8.0 compatible. Online play is locked to 1.0.8.0 and lower too, with both GTA Connected and GFWL requiring 1.0.8.0.

It's been 4 years since CE released.
The game itself is well over 15 years old. Most mods are years old and have long been stable for whatever version they were made for. Many mod authors, assuming they even still update their mods, will be slow to go to the trouble of updating again for an all new version of the game, but the number of available mods is slowly increasing.

with both GTA Connected and GFWL requiring 1.0.8.0.
GFWL doesn't even function anymore for most people, and multiplayer is massive hassle to get working on 1.8 and older. Multiplayer functionality for CE is currently being worked on and forthcoming by third party clients, including by GTA Connected.

Does anyone have experience with using trainers in GTAO to spawn cash? I intend to use it only for cash. I'd like to enjoy GTAO again but my legitimate level 300 character with millions of dollars is stuck on PS4 with no way to import progress to PC any more.

I'm not wasting all that fucking time again, nor am I giving Rockstar the thousands of dollars of real money it would require via MTX. I just want to get back to having all the fun toys again.

To follow up, I purchased a key for the Stand trainer (basic package) for $25, bit of a rip off but whatever. Getting my antivirus to co-operate was tough.

I'm learning it's features, one thing that's quite funny is it actually notifies you of other players using the trainer and gives you some notifications on what they do or activate. There are way more cheaters than I would have thought. I previously liked to imagine I was above those guys but then I ran out of fucks to give. Still need to be aware of many anti cheat measures in place however.

EDIT: I nearly shit myself thinking I was caught already. I was trying out the slot machine rigging option only to be met with a pop up saying "This feature isn't available for you" when trying to sit at the machines after activating it. Turns out this was because my VPN was set to a country where Rockstar had to disable the gambling features.

I’m willing to argue that if GTA VI can somehow find a way to integrate new age podcasts with its in-game fictional talk show radio and music radio stations, then it can absolutely be an already massive and immersive experience.

Granted, this will have nothing to do with frame rates and gameplay (as well as mission structure regarding both in question), but just think about listening to how today‘s devs will do a parody on The Joe Rogan Experience.

Why the fuck aren’t you buying shark cards, or grinding your 6,729th playthrough of Cayo Perico?

Hate to piss on your cornflakes chap, but if money was all you were after, there is a tried and reliable mod out there which you could have got for free. It uses the same method as you describe, i.e. slot machines jackpots.

Kiddions?

I just went with the one I saw recommended most. Unwise in hindsight but I figured if this extra $25 gets me a few more hours enjoyment out of a game I only spent $60 on over a decade ago, fuck it. Bonus points for the extra middle finger by avoiding Rockstar MTX and essentially getting infinite money for almost no cost comparatively.

I should clarify it's not as simple as spawning cash as I previously thought, apparantly anti-cheat measures made that easily detectable a while ago. A decent meta now seems to be rigging casino games (this requires sprinkling in an undefined amount of losses between wins as anti-cheat measures exist here also), spawning vehicles to sell (Arena Wars' Deathbike seems the best option at 850k a pop, this requires some finagling to make the spawned vehicle register as a personal vehicle also, and there are again anti-cheat measures watching how many cars you sells in a certain period of time), and using a feature that can automatically do all the set up for Cayo for you in an instant allowing you to start heist finale straight away.

I hear of extra features in the repository that allow you to exploit businesses in game also but I haven't looked at them yet ("Musiness Banager")

GTA Online DLC announced

Coming This Summer: A New Brand of Vigilante Justice

Plus, New Off-the-Books Dispatch Work for Vincent, Updates to the Creator, and More

June 5, 2024
In the words of Maude Eccles, this world is full of scum and detritus, and it’s only right that we all bear our share.

This summer, it’s time for some (high-value) target practice to clean up the roving reprobates of Southern San Andreas with your very own bail enforcement and bounty hunting business in the next major update for GTA Online. Meanwhile, back in town, Vincent needs help enforcing his authority without official oversight — get behind the wheel of your souped-up Cruiser and conduct a range of off-the-books enforcement activities across Los Santos. Plus, utilize new tools and props to create custom, high-octane Drift and Drag Races in the Creator, and much more later this month.

This summer’s action-packed GTA Online update also delivers a collection of new rides to covet and collect, boosts to payouts across a number of existing modes and missions, including Taxi Work, Open Wheel Races, Operation Paper Trail, and more.
Two vehicles side-by-side and surrounded by a crowd are spinning their wheels at the start of a street Drag Race.

Creator Upgrades

Building on the suite of tools already masterfully employed by the community are the latest new additions and features to the Creator, including the expansion of custom Drift Race tracks and Drag Race circuits, and new units in all tracks — from drivers doing donuts and bouncing lowriders, to crowd animations, and more.

Plus, testing Races is becoming easier, as creators can now launch tests from any chosen checkpoint, and also have the option to race multiple rounds in Drag Races before a winner is declared, alongside a range of new improvements designed to help the community create and share their amazing Races, Deathmatches, and more.

We’re always on the lookout for great Jobs to feature in the Community Series, so be sure to tag #CommunitySeries when saving your Job — or sharing on social media — so we can check it out. If you’re creating Jobs for the first time in GTA Online, our official guides can help get you started.

Experience Updates

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the GTA Online player experience, this summer’s update will feature a number of experience improvements based on your requests and feedback shared via the GTA Online feedback website.

These changes include an increased Sell Mission timer to make it easier for solo players taking on Biker and Gunrunning sales, snacks automatically replenishing when launching most missions, buffing defensive and armor capabilities for the Sparrow and Bombushka, and more.

As we continue to monitor and balance payouts to ensure all mission types are fun and rewarding, we will be increasing base payouts for players taking part in Open Wheel Races, Taxi Work, and many Contact Missions.

And More...

GTA+ Members on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S will get to claim the new Överflöd Pipistrello (Super) for free as part of their Member benefits on the day this summer’s update launches — a week before it becomes available to all players. And through August, GTA+ Members are still receiving an extra bonus of GTA$1,000,000 every month alongside their usual GTA$500,000, in addition to all the other amazing Member benefits.

Stay tuned to the Newswire for more details on what’s headed to GTA Online this Summer, including our annual Independence Day celebration, extra bonuses on The Chop Shop, The Contract, and more. Make sure to follow us on X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and our new official WhatsApp channel for even more updates.

So they took a leaf from RDR and are implementing deeper bounty hunting mechanics

Has way more stuff going on both onscreen and in the background. It's too ambitious for the PSP and the ports were lazy.

They couldn't even parody Howard Stern properly with Martin Serious. They have no chance at tackling Joe in a funny but fair manner.
