Why do you want to give them another 70 dollars for a handful of car modifications and the removal of drag queens?
It's been so long I can't even remember if it was supposed to be a free update or not. They said it was coming to PC years ago, then never did anything about it. They were going to offer it as a separate download for a much cheaper price like Red Dead Online, but again... nothing came of it.

Plus I think they removed the drag queen anyways. Pretty sure they removed the toy in the Arcade, too.

And looks like there's still no Expanded and Enhanced Edition for PC. Neat. Great. Fantastic even.

Fuck you, Rockstar.
Did PC ever get the updated startup UI that the PS5/XS versions have? That said, I'm sure the PC version is "expanded and enhanced" by default if you catch my drift.

Pay extra to have a subscription service pushed down your throat for an unstable online environment.

anyone tried the stars and stripes mod for san andreas, looks fun but it feels empty without pedestrians or activities, thinking of trying it out since iv still runs like shit despite installing dvdk and doing other fixes

The GTA community doing detective work to figure out the voice actress for Lucia. Again, this is speculation until it's confirmed with the release.
Didn't they find her like...months ago? I think I even posted about it in here.

I'd trust them tbqh. I know I saw people on GTAForums talking about Steven Ogg like a year before GTA V even came out.

Perhaps, I wasn't paying attention. That said, it always helps to have official confirmation.

Reni Wassulmaier, the transgender film director that dresses in red, was originally a woman that had a sex change into a man. So, all the time Reni was dressed in red, she was a man. She's quite convincing as a woman while being a man. Think on that.
I thought the whole point of Reni's design was based on androgynous stylings of the alternative scene at the time.

Androgynous, that's it. You're correct. The 80s were crazy back then,

VCS has to be a forgotten GTA, next to Advance.
That fucking game. I captured every gang building except one on the 2nd island because it was mission related. It belonged to the red gang, the "Sharks" or whatever. The rate at which they would attack you and your businesses depended on how much of their buildings you had taken over previously (until you took them all, then the gang would disappear). I had taken ALL of their buildings save for the aforementioned mission one that wouldn't become available until later.

This resulted in cars full of these guys spawning to attack me almost constantly and getting the "Your business is under attack!" event every few minutes, it was almost fucking unplayable.

Great game though.

If you guys are looking to get into GTA 2, I'd recommend using along these gameplay improvement mods.
Widescreen Fix lets you enable higher resolutions and adapts the HUD elements as well.
Frontend Fix is a life changing mod that ports the PS1 menu to the PC version, you can now modify the settings while in-game and most importantly lets you aim and shoot with the mouse when on foot. There is no strafing though, sadly.
While I don't personally use the radar mod, because I think not having one is part of the game's charm, with that you have a functioning minimap like GTA III with blips and everything.

I have never played GTA 2 before, I only messed around with it on the PS1 version years ago. Recently I decided to play it properly and now I'm at the Industrial District, the last level.

Honestly I think it's the most underrated GTA in existence (along with the first one and London). The respect system is really great and the way the game lets you choose freely which gang to side on makes it truly the only real open-world GTA game out there. I wish the controls were a little more responsive, but by using the mouse aiming mod really improves the gameplay a lot.

The missions, or odd jobs as they were called back then, are really fun, creative and boy it they have some edge - something that you'll never see ever again in the recent titles. I really like the arcade gameplay (the announcer sells the whole game, IMO) and coming from the story driven GTA games in retrospective it's something really fresh and unique.

The bikers are the fuckin worst, they roll up on you with AKs and blow up your car or kill you in 2 seconds on foot. Even more annoying, they will only drop pistols.

And the missions that require ATVs or hovercrafts can suck a dick.

Still a fun game though. Great soundtrack and the Little Nellie minicopter rules.

There's a bug in one mission where you HAVE to use a hovercraft to where it won't accelerate. Since you have to collect packages before they disappear, that's a glaring issue.

GTA 2's navigation systems looks archaic in execution. Rely on an arrow to navigate you through a mission where every street layout looks the same. How do you do that?

I know you need $50,000 to SAVE your game in GTA 2. Is that easy to accumulate over time? It reminds me of Crazy Taxi where you need to rack up money to progress.

I used to think the same about that, but once you start playing you'll learn the map layout pretty quickly. The street layout, while they look similar it's very simple to memorize. In the first to levels, for example, there are several main roads that go around the whole level, so if you ever get stuck follow those roads and they'll bring you back to a point of the map that you know better.

I still have some trouble finding the car garages, but usually they're near the payphones. In the first level there is one near the Yakuza green payphones and in the second level they're near the Rednecks yellow payphones and SRS Scientists red payphones.

Yes, the arrows are not really straightforward but you'll get used to it. Usually it's just matter of going around the block to see where it does actually point.

Once you start doing missions you'll increase the multiplier. When you have completed several missions you're already a lot of money and saving is no longer an issue. Of course it's best to not save the game after completing each mission, but after completing two or three in a row is fine.

Completing a green payphone mission in the first level pays you $20k and raises your money multiplier to x2, so by the time you complete the second green payphone mission you're already at $60k with a multiplier of x3. WIth a multiplier of x3 a yellow payphone mission gives you $120k and the multiplier goes x4, and so on.

Thinking about it, it's also the only GTA game where money actually matters. You need it to save, to use the car garages and to complete the level itself.

Does the multiplier reset when you fail a mission? I know it does when you die or get busted.

I remember one mission where you cart unsuspecting gang members into a meat grinder to sell as hot dogs. GTA 2 has to be the definition of dark comedy where the world around you is messed up.

IIRC the multiplier is halved when you get busted. If you pick up a get out of jail free card you won't lose your multiplier level.

There are plenty of missions like that. On the second level there is an SRS Scientists mission where you pick up both Rednecks and Zaibatsu people to use them as guinea pigs in their laboratory.
