GTA IV's online achievements and its 100% achievement requires a lot of dedication from the player to unlock.

Issue 2: Devs include multiplayer achievements and don't separate them from the standard achievements. I played GTA IV in 2016 with the intent of getting every achievement, but I quickly realized I was genuinely locked out from 100% because one of the achievments was to win a huge number of online races. I couldn't find a single race, let alone enough to complete that asinine requirement.
You're talking about two particular achievements. Top of the Midnight Club, which requires winning 20 races without taking damage and damage enabled and Auf Wiedersehen Petrovic.

That last achievement is a biggie. You'd need to win every variation of ranked PvP modes, complete the three PvE missions, and win every variation of every race available. Nobody is playing GTA IV like that, so you'd need to find a boosting partner to grind through those races and keep track of your progress yourself. I gave up on that achievement because, like Wanted, it requires too much time, effort and perseverance that the game or playerbase does not respect.

I'm thinking Rockstar was thinking that players would be committed to the long haul of its multiplayer. But, there's no foresight to think that people would STILL engage in multiplayer five, ten, fifteen years from its launch.

I always felt like TLaD is missing the first half of it's story. It seems to start it what should be the second act (The gangs former leader returning and how the downfall begins) but nope, all the preceding events are told to you after the fact... even though you are allegedly present for said events you don't see.

TLaD should have opened with Billy's accident and him getting sent down, hell I wouldn't be surprised if that was originally the plan but they were forced to cut it out.
For me, the strongest parts of TLaD's story were Johnny and Ashley's segments, think the mission where you get her from the crackhouse, kidnapping Roman, the jewel fiasco, and the underlying point of Johnny building up enough grit to finally cut her out of his life by the end. Think you can send her one final, conclusive e-mail after you get 100%, but don't quote me on that.

TBoGT has a more memorable story imo, it also felt like a breath of fresh air after the bittersweet closer that was Niko's tale and the full on downer Johnny's story had.

You could after the story, you don't need 100% for that.

I believe that was intentional given how dark and serious IV and TLaD were. TBoGT still had serious moments, but the levity from the side characters paced it well. It does blend with the glitz and glamour of nightlife. Lights, music, parties and orgies hide, or even supplement, the drugs, crime, insecurity and woes rich people could deal with.

and the underlying point of Johnny building up enough grit to finally cut her out of his life by the end.
I remember there being a friends interaction near or at the end where Terry and Clay ask how long could they ride on. They say forever, but given what happened in V, it's definitely heartbreaking in context.

TBoGT is just modern GTA SA.
Better than GTA V if you compare.
TLaD works better when you ride in a bike.

I admit I went into the game with relatively low expectations since it's just an expansion and not really a full-fledged game in the series, but I didn't mind the plot being short or the rough, quick jump into it. In fact, I feel like it works pretty well for the fast and self-destructive lifestyle associated with motorbikes - they all lived hard and fast but it took only a short moment to wreck themselves. The whole game really felt like a string of sudden (often self-inflicted) catastrophes and I liked it.

It really could've used a bigger antagonist, however. Billy looked like he was being set up for something way bigger and Brian and Ray Boccino were weak substitutes during his considerable absence.

Same here, I loved that relationship. It was pretty realistic and believable, I think. Johnny breaking up with her for good was one of the very few good things to happen in his sad, shitty life, and it was nice to see that out of all the losses of people and things dear to him he went through, there was this one loss that was actually good for him. Fuck GTA V for shitting all over that.

Reminds me of a post talking on how they found weird that the scalping gang in the woods in 2 is mostly white (they got some blacks in the Skinners), one guy said "By 1907 the natives were all in resevations, they wouldn't be in the wild to form gangs", sure, but Tall Trees is full of natives (and some whites) in 1, 4 years latter. You kill some hundred of them in 5 missions.
There is also the Shaman in Butcher Creek. Can you imagine the backlash if the Shaman was indeed a native and he genuinely thought there was a curse at hand instead of being treated as a super wise guy who knows better than stupid European science? Not to say natives are stupid, but I noticed that "folk knowledge" is just socially accepted pseudoscience.

So I've been trying to make a thread on SWEGTA, and it's been interesting because there's so much information and drama that he's been in that it's gonna take a while to get through it all. I'm just wondering if making it now is a good idea since most of the drama with him such as the Transphobia in GTA V happened more than 5 years ago.

Go for it. Fuck this faggot. I have all the info or connections to sources you'll need as a former fan of his.

Yeah I would love that if you could give it.
You don't have access to his discord server? The Bully server too. That's a lead. I think he deleted his original server I resided in, but years later made a new one. That's a lead lost and shit I never archived. The last lead I have is some friends who remember. Some of his commenters also trash on him especially around the 2020 era. He is a swedish pothead libshit faggot who used to make great content and now only makes slop. I'm not sure if it's worth making a cow out of but he's definitely a grifting beta code hoarder akin to STiP0 with the Dead Rising community.

I do know someone in his server, although he joined relatively recently.
Try this guy called AC, and Grant (Graunt, Grantini, some dude who loves the work of the bully composer). They were part of some discord group. Grant calmed down, but older members might talk if you ask. I haven't had any connection in years and we only talked about swegta in his drought years. I only talk to one semi regularly but there's really not much to say about SWEGTA and he doesn't have many dirty secrets. All there is to observe is his downfall in quality, him nearly going homeless, being a fag, ruining his avatar, and all that shit. In fact I was going to make a thread about him but I never got enough information to make it worthwhile. The BULLY community, him included however would make for a better thread. There's plenty of cowish modders and members.

Off the top of my head there was a modder who ended up scamming or never finishing a beta related project for Bully that SWEGTA shilled for, the disastrous SWEGTA speed run live streams, and other tidbits you can still find in the comment sections if he left the vids up.
All fandoms are like a retarded cult so none of this should be surprising. SWEGTA ends up shilling for a lot of bullshit and dead ends, then backs out quietly when they go up in flames. He's literally STiP0 (whale fan) for bully but at least most bully builds are on Internet archive.

Well I finally got around to finishing the thread. Any info that needs to be added let me know.

Good job.

On other GTA news, Cfx, or FiveM if it helps, now has an official marketplace for mods. It's basically Bestheda's Creation Club.

GTA+ wasn't enough to double dip, now we have a mod marketplace.

I think it's insane that for the older Rockstar titles on PC, you need to install mods for them to even work properly. Like take GTA:SA for example, there's a camera bug where it spins around and you can't do shit. Downgrade your game and install SilentPatch and it's fixed.
I don't know what I expected from Rockstar though. At least a lot of the new GTA Online updates aren't too bad.

A dying GTA fan was (seemingly) able to play GTA 6 per contacts from a Ubisoft developer.
He has the unique opportunity to do literally the funniest thing ever and destroy millions, maybe even billions of dollars of effort by going online and saying something stupid like "it's woke dont buy it" right before he dies and then Rockstar has to litigate a dead guy for NDA breach.
