The more successful video essayists are usually getting the views they do because they have decent editing and are able to format their scripts in a way that's easier for their target audience to consume.

Not to mention that in order to play the algorithm, you need your essay to be in the 20-30 minute range. At that point, you're still putting a similar amount of work into editing and making sure the audio and script sound right as most video essayists do. You CAN offload the editing to some pajeet on fiver, but at that point you're sinking a good chunk of change into a venture that you won't earn any money from for at least a few months.
