Also, if we're being honest, it's hard not to consider things like the money spent on the "homeless crisis" as anything more than massive grifting. CA alone spent 9.6 billion on "fighting homelessness" between 2018-2021, yet last time I was there, there were plenty of homeless. We could go on with homeless spending for places like NYC and Chicago, but I think it's better to point out how NYC alone has already spent over 2 billion dollars on migrants since 2023, with an estimated 12 billion to be spent over the next 3 years. You can disagree with me on whether that counts as "grifting" but these campaigns aim towards a specific type of person and are receiving government funding from specific type of state.
