This game has been bleeding players since it's inception, only to gain a few when certain characters are announced.

Baiken in December
Testament in March
And now Bridget

This game since it's release was surrounded with nothing but controversy regarding questionable choices that were made. Whoever in this team still believes that pandering to the woke is going to save this game when it's been the slow death of it this entire time needs to be axed out of it because outside of virtue-signalers that immediately support anything tranny-related for good boi points, they are completely fucked.

I'd rather wait for Daisuke to be coerced into a straight answer, but it wouldn't be the first time that trannies and dumb Westernfags in general completely fail to understand that their ideology is not shared overseas and thus put their headcanon into places where it doesn't belong.

Look at Cagliostro from Granblue - the usual suspects say it's so progressive for trannies and LGBT-friendly, etc., and yet it's really just an ancient alchemist who has transformed themselves into a young girl and LARPs their newfound persona. There's no sexual connotation to it, and the character doesn't say how much better it is that they're a girl now or whatever. They chose something different to the ailing body they once were, and a little cutesy girl is easily overlooked or underestimated by their opposition.

So yeah, I'm happy taking it all with a healthy bag of salt, especially when Bridget being a tranny means they're everything that trannies hate being associated with (grooming, forced conversions, mentally ill/victims of parental abuse).

The true ending or perfect ending brings in a good argument to the debacle too because of the line "I want to live as my true self...!" because if you say this is Bridget coming to terms that he's a girl then you can argue "How do you know? Do you know what Bridget's true self is?".
This would be a good point except as I’ve already said, strive doesn’t really have different arcade endings that are “good” “bad” or “true”. They are all relevant info in one way or another

If you really think Daisuke intended the I’m a girl ending to be a “bad” one and completely removed from the context of the other ending where Bridget is constantly talking about wanting to be one’s true self and scared, then I’ve got some great ocean side Kentucky property I’d live to sell you

You seem to want the "I'm a girl" ending to be canon real bad.

Not really, it’s a pretty 180 character choice, but it’s also for a character I’ve never cared much for.

I just don’t live in denial, the idea that the flawless ending and the ending where you lose a round are about completely different topics is insanely silly, and only works if you start assigning labels to every arcade ending(something I’ll repeat hasn't been done with strive until this controversy)

And it doesn’t change all the questions I asked in a previous post, Bridget has been an out and successful femboy bounty Hunter even to the village as of strive, so all these personal demons Bridget is running from are not related to be a boy publicly….so it’s either about the shit talked about in another ending just in a more nuanced way….or it’s about a completely separate issue that is going to be left completely up in the air until a potential sequel….I wonder which is more likely

So from what I've gathered now that the dust has settled and the information is out there, the ending is just some cheap cop-out bullshit about how Bridget is "accepting himself for who he really is," which is so vague that it could mean anything the listener wants to believe, from "I'm a man, but I have a feminine side to me as well," to "I sexually identify as a grilled cheese sandwich." The only real localization fuckery is the character profile, which inexplicably uses feminine pronouns because of fucking course.

The interesting thing to me is that the Steam Discussion has some pro-trans individuals who realize just how much of a dumpster fire the implications of making Bridget trans really is. For most people, this is a lose-lose situation: long-time fans will be disappointed by the bastardization of established lore, and people who want good trans reps have to contend with the unfortunate implications of Bridget's upbringing. The only people who are beaming about this news are what I'm going to label "identity fetishists," whose interest in Bridget as a character begins and ends with the phrase "Bwigit says twans wights UwU!"

Yeah, if you think about it for longer than 5 seconds it's creepy as shit. It's John Money if John Money wasn't a complete quack who ruined a boy's life.

Since this thread has essentially become this, I should note that Bridget's dustloops wiki page for Accent Core +R has already had all of the pronouns switched
Saved an archive link of it just in case.

I don't really give a shit, but I do think it's pretty funny.
They did do the same thing to Testament too back when that happened.

I remember reading a YouTube comment that the Guilty Gear Wiki would withhold lore because they don't like it.

Guilty Gear wiki is not dustloops wiki. There's only really a small part about the lore. It's mostly for how to play the characters. Has frame data, and combos, etc.
Although, wouldn't surprise me if both are curated by the same people. There's like a couple hundred people that play these older games, maximum, and even less that actually give a shit about the lore.

I know the twitter trannies might be demoralizing but;
If they're attempting to twist the truth for theyre narritive about anything, it'll eventually catch up to them

This doesn't go for the tranoids fucking up a the whole discussion of the GG:strive bullshit but in general.
Don't lie about whats in you're face esspecially on the internet

Honestly, I was this close to doing a StoneToss “And how will this help bring forth new Guilty Gear Strive players to our game?” “Game?” reference, but then I forgot that I could play the old Guilty Gear games and call it a day.

This kind of stuff just makes no sense, even if the good ending is interpreted as the spirit of trannies being ultimately destroyed by the power of good vs. evil.

I just want to play some good fighting games.

Don’t even try using player numbers here strive is literally the best selling in franchise history. For instance, we never had Aeriels playable when she was clearly going to be with xrd not selling a whole lot.

The weird thing is, it could still be Trans related, but also less destructive to the lore and character. Reason being is have you noticed that symbol on Bridget's hoodie? It's a mix of the Venus and Mars symbol, representing Androgyny. I have never seen a more perfect opportunity to go for the Genderfluid stuff, cause it's in their design and also wouldn't be some creepy thing where their parents grooming them technically won out in the end or whatever, but they can still be proud of who they are and just decide "eh, i feel like a dude today". It could have went from a lose-lose to a win-win.

As funny as it is, I think the bad/true ending stuff is just cope. The damage is already done, and you're going to have to listen to reddit and twitter tourists who only jumped on the series at -STRIVE- for the next several months jump up and down about how "Bridget is our character now" while ignoring how fucking dumb this arc actually is for his character because they have no other context.
Anyone thinking this is a 4D chess maneuver and that they're trying to make the elusion of "trans ending = bad ending" is deluding themselves. Most companies who like their stock price don't tend to pull off stunts like that. Best you'll get is the woke mob trying to push them into something, then they say "no" and carry on.

It's the localizers trying to score a few points. Issue is, they're localizers and don't give a shit about source material. Which isn't all that much of a silly idea when you realise most of the people who are praising this also don't give a shit about source material. The stupid giving the stupid a pat on the ass.

I won't say "get woke go broke" is at play here. God knows quarter-pounder killed that phrase a long time ago and it makes it sound like any wokeness makes something sell worse. But if you start ignoring core fundimentals during this persuit of seeking approval of social media leeches and journalists, then you'll pretty quickly learn those people don't stick around.

And nobody wants to be the Overwatch of fighting games...

Does anyone have a video about the differences between the flawless one and the one where he goes "I'm a girl"? I can't find it on youtube and I didn't see it on this thread

The GG wiki was really quick on the draw to change all of Bridget's pronouns a couple days ago, and then immediately LOCK the page for editing, without any chance for anyone to dispute it. This also prevents people from putting more info about Bridget's storyline on the page, beyond the "bad" ending. It's so obvious the page is being purposefully left incomplete so the confusion lasts longer while Bridget being trans is being forced as the narrative.

Trying to find the tweet of someone showing the Japanese reaction to their twitter trap being turned into a tranny (spoiler not happy, if he's not in a nun outfit I cannot fap etc) and having twitter troons/troon allies go "well Japan should remember that the USA nuked them if they don't like it. Fuck it's funny.

See it a lot with wikis. The One Piece wiki character Yamato's page reads like a fucking autist wrote it (probably because they are) and decided to shove the tranny shit in, in spite of data books saying female, because of one comedic panel of this character going chest bare in a male bath, meant to produce lols.

Wiki editors should be laughed at an not trusted on anything (unsurprising).
