Harley Quinn - DC Universe Series - Verdict s̶t̶i̶l̶l̶ ̶o̶u̶t̶ I̶N̶. out again.

I wonder how many seasons of this they are planning? They've killed a bunch of characters and Dr Phycho was my fav member of the main cast. I honestly cant see where they can take the series after this season.

Yeah I do feel like it has been setup to be a two season run especially with how close both seasons were released almost feeling more like a mid season break unless they pull time-travel shit/it was all a dream at the end or something.

They have more than enough material to work with for at least one more season. We still need to see Harley undo all her mistakes as well as Ivy’s wedding. I believe we will also see the return of Sy seeing as he was mostly machine and he gave Harley his eye. The eye likely contains some level of consciousness.

There is also the fact that Phycho is presumably still alive and all the Parademons are still roaming around. I think they also confirmed that Bane is not dead, so he can return. Add in that Batman is still yet to recover, and they have a good base to continue.

Maybe, but I think they will wrap all those plot points before the season ends. The last episode is called "the runaway bridesmaid" or something like that. My guess is they kill Psycho in the next two episodes, have Ivy's wedding in the last episode. Lets say they marry kite man and Ivy, no problem, then its a nice wrap up to the series, the same could be said if Ivy and Harley end up together.
Of course, you would still do Batman vs Harley next season, but I doubt its enough to carry an entire season.

My main issue with the show is that it wants to have its cake and eat it too -

Harley is a sympathetic quirky girl!, but she has been directly responsible for horrifying atrocities.

We're gritty and mature!, but Mr Freeze is going to go off on an actual, literal face to the camera rant about white privilege and cishet Caucasian men.

Glass ceiling in the Legion and everyone is sexist, but we're nonetheless open to all and pretend to be offended when WW gets called a cunt.

Moment by moment I enjoy the show and the gags (that shot of the kid losing faith in Batman had me rolling like a spastic log), but this clunky, kind of whiny writing between the lines is kind of distracting. It's well acted, just not as well written as it thinks.
I'm sorry for replying to your over week old post, but the numerous mentions of "cis het this", "straight privilege that", "White man" this, etc were just so oddly inserted. Some of the "woke" and or "modern/self aware" bits in the script really hindered the overall flow of an otherwise pretty well written show. But I did find many bits to be funny. That part of King Shark saying that he "would never kill old people, leaving that to the American health care system" left me in tears. The gore and blood as I already mentioned is quite jarring for me, but since they're supervillains I should've expected this.

I'm almost caught up, but two things that bugs me about the show is that:
1). Harley Quinn's power level. She's suppose to be a normal human (I believe), but she seems to have the physical strength and durability of a superhuman. No matter what, it seems like she can almost always punch, swing her bat and kick her way through anything. I get in comics many "human" characters regularly do superhuman feats, but still.

2). She doesn't seem to have a consistent moral compass. I understand she's suppose to be crazy, but they've made it clear that she's in charage of her fate and wants to do things her way. One episode she's helping Poison Ivy dump chemical waste and kill CEOs or biting off the nose of The Penguin, the next she's freaked out that Killer Croc painted a picture of him killing a man named "Reed" or reprimanding Mr. Freeze for keeping the love of his life in frozen in a ice.

I like the voice acting behind this. Tony Hale, Kaley and Lake especially all fit their parts. I hope there's at least a season 3 and depending on where that ends, season 4.

it's rocky depending on the continuity, but getting dosed with ivy's toxin has generally given her enhanced strength and durability, as well as poison immunity.

I love how they based the joker off they way dick sprang drew him in the 50s. Gordon looks like he did when Frank Miller wrote him (and he's a nervous wreck too) in year one Harley looks like she was ripped from the animated series. I have mixed feelings about the near constant swearing and gore.. I'm not usually too picky about that kinda thing but there's got to be a reason for it not just there because they can since its an original program for a streaming service. I have seen it done worse though.

I still haven't seen this series yet and have no desire to. In my opinion, the character of Harley died in 2011. I've heard that lots of people like this show and that's fine but I personally can't stand the version of Harley I've had to deal with for almost a decade now. I miss the jester costume and I miss the tragic vaudeville persona. I hate the empowering all-comedy approach they've done with the character and I just....nope.

And the Batgirl in DC Super Hero Girls is the best Batgirl. Shes like the best character in that show
Speaking of which that gives me an excuse to post this
Wow, that was terrible.

Edit: It looks like My Little Pony hate-fucked Teen Titans Go.

Well Lauren Faust works on DC Super Hero Girls........
Tara Strong's Harley makes me long for death. Why they keep casting her screechy ass, I don't know.
Well for the record shes Batgirl, Harley, Barbara Ann Minerva (aka Cheetah) and Ursa (General Zod's female accomplice from Superman 2)

Oh and shes Raven

...And? I know about her long voice-acting history. Doesn't mean I like her. I can always tell when it's her and she has little to no range. Also she's a TDS sperg with an annoying ego.

Try watching her as Rocky from the Rocky And Bullwinkle reboot, your lack of range comment will get thrown right out the window
