He seems to have BPD along with the mid/low functioning autism, with an extreme lack of Self Awareness, Emotional Maturity, Willpower, and Social Awareness.
I've just now finally done a deep dive into the Chris Chan history since the incest news broke out, after having thought the obsession with him was ridiculous previously.
It's very clear that the internet had a huge influence on him, and completely changed and fucked up his life, but here's the thing is that the most telling signs of trouble for him was his life history.
His parents were hoarders (I mostly respect his father so far and feel pretty bad for him, with all the really sweet things he did for him as a kid). His mother was insane and is the type of mother to revel in her child's fucked up personality. He was put through very traumatic situations as a child, and was enabled, which is extremely dangerous to do to children. Basically all of this social interactions and the things he said and the way he talked, he said because it looked like that in cartoons and movies. I could tell watching him, because I used to be kind of like that (Thankfully nowhere near to the degree he was). His parents helped him as a child with speech and such but it's clear they likely had no intent of trying to empathize with him or finding a solution, or really driving lessons into him. He was very entitled from the beginning, what with his basically Precursor-inceldom with his obsession with losing his virginity, and thinking men were conspiring against him to keep him from getting one.
Then he hit the internet. He's a landmark case, essentially, since very little people knew what the internet could truly be capable of, and how little it was moderated back in the day. People just let their kids use it with a "Don't talk to pedos" at the base fucking line, without any foresight from parents. So he's basically what everyone learns from (However the acceptance of LGBT shit has completely reverted progress in keeping people sane online). He puts himself out there, shows he's vulnerable and not to mention very unlikeable and ignorant. But still gross enough to obsess over sex.
I actually think one of the biggest contributors to his trolls was the fact that he was a homophobe. People used that as an excuse to ruin his life. This was back in the golden era, so people really felt punk rock for fucking with homophobes, which is why all his trolls seem to be teenagers.
TLDR He's beyond saving, Because he refuses to improve himself and does not have the self-analytical brainpower to do so. I think he's self aware to know that he's not normal, but he refuses to learn from real life experiences in terms of how to be socially aware and bases his perception of reality on videogames, likely becasue they validated his existence the most as someone who was severely bullied as a child, and who had basically no male friends. It was honorable of people to extend helping hands to him, but at this age there's likely nothing more he will learn unless he has a complete Epiphany.
Keep your kids, especially disabled ones, off the internet. You cannot control what they do and say 24/7. I'd give more takes but I still don't know the entire history yet, and I don't want to make replies drag on and on unless I have documents and links to share.
