Like you said, "Classic Chris" was more active than now because trolls were actively egging him on, which pretty much stopped when Bob died. If there was no active trolling, "Classic Chris" may have been just as "mellow" as he is today.

He's either lazy or dying no great loss either way, still I think we have at least one more incident to pry out of him for our amusement.

Oh, he's been told this numerous times, but this is where his ancient perpetual delusion that a cartoon world where all fictional characters exist is an actual place sharing the reality of existence with actual reality. Combined with how he's always stuck to the most simple of definitions for everything he loves so he doesn't have to think to hard on stuff, he simply can not comprehend that two Sonics can exist simultaneously, or that as a fictional character variant, the Sonic boom incarnation simply doesn't need to exist or any other multitude of rational answers consolidating the two hedgehogs that only need to fit into his contexts.

It is actually quite ironic that one of Chris' most important creations; Rosechu - the main female subject for expressing his incredibly stereotyped and offensive views on women - is blatantly identical to Amy Rose except with a Raichu tail glued to her ass, but between the tail and simply having a slightly different name, can be rationally explained in the mind of OPL whereas because Sonic Boom does not change Sonic's name, the obviously different version is indistinguishable as a separate entity from the original Sonic.

Which makes me wonder how the fuck Chris got through Sonic Generations with two Sonics, two Tails, and two fabulously mustached egg-shaped men. Assuming he's played any version of that game, of course, I haven't checked on his video game records in a long time if I'm honest.

The thing with Liquid Chris taking off like that was timing, as his early impersonation videos acting as the 'true' CWC didn't seem to catch OPL's attention in the sea of weens and trolls distracting him in all directions. However, it was around that time when Chris, like an idiot, got his main youtube account banned for 'doxing' trolls, so he made the 'IBAChandler' account and subsequently found trolls saying his real name was Ian Brandon Anderson. Then Liquid posted a video of him and Sammantha selling Sonichu merch at a con less than two weeks after the IBA name came into use - this is what riled Chris up; somebody actively impersonating him and making money off his Sonichu franchise. Liquid thus picked up the trend of calling the real Chris by the IBA name and decrying him as an impostor, and so OPL just went ballistic because as we all know, the second most precious thing to Chris is having his identity with the initials CWC, and here was the perfect storm where Chris actually thought his very identity was in question.

Such is the case with pretty much every major rage from Chris as long as the internet has followed him, as his ego of identity and of what matters most to him has been his Achilles heel. With Liquid Chris, it was the one-two punch of a guy immitating Chris's videos and the coincidental rise of the IBA name (which Chris probably never realized came from the very three letters in that username meant to confirm his identity as Chandler), so Chris raged against an impostor who had 'stolen' that which was most dear to the young lolcow. His eternal grudge against Mary Lee Walsh was all due to him thinking she was going to treat him with kid gloves like he always had by previous educational faculty, so when she flippantly ignored all his imaginary tricks, tore up the attraction sign, and generally disciplined him in an appropriate way, he took that as an extreme personal attack on his existence and has never forgiven her for doing her job. And then the Adam Stackhouse controversy where Chris was apoplectic that his grand plan to lose his virginity via megan throwing herself at him at E3 had been foiled by a guy who actually put considerable effort into that music video and effectively cockblocked him simply by existing.

Everything about Chris' deteriorating bill of health and lack of...well, everything...is of course a major influence to his more sedated behavior, but the real reason is trolls can't really get under his skin anymore as he really has nothing left to be exploited. His short lived online businesses selling sonichu merch as he'd always dreamed of all collapsed because he grew bored of having to put in effort even when self-employed, his love quest is still DOA as his plan to attract lesbians who couldn't possibly have boyfriends backfired, trolls can't make fun of his shattered CWCverse as even paying his fat ass to finish the next comic wasn't enough motivation for him to finish what he had believed was destined to be a nationally loved franchise, all he's been reduced to is e-begging for money and for Cole to remove the responsibility of caring for Barb. He'll still rage a little at things on facebook or in a YT video on rare occasions, but that's only because that's the extent of stimulation he has with interacting with the outside world anymore beyond food runs. He's still the angry piece of shit he's always been, but 3o+ years of being an asshole who abuses his autism diagnosis for every last litteral penny, the card finally isn't working to make others solve his life problems beyond the tugboat and having to manage himself like an adult more than ever leaves him perpetually stressed.
 
I think he must be on medication, otherwise it just seems like he's focused mostly on financial stuff and taking care of Barb. When he used to make all those "DYKES DYKES CHINA" videos flipping out, he was pretty much a 25 year old child. His world revolved around his toys, comics, and sweetheart searches, he had no real responsibility in life.

I think Bob dying and the increase in responsibilities that he's had to take on, maybe put some things in perspective for Chris. He's actually been forced to grow up a little bit. He still obsessed with toys and CHINA, but Bob is gone and Barb isn't in any condition to take care of him anymore, so he's had no choice but to step up and be a grownup in some areas.

So between the huge changes to his life after Bob dying + being possibly medicated = Chris isn't gonna have a big meltdown series of videos if you claim you're the one who really created Sonichu anymore.

I kind of wonder if he's on the verge of reinventing himself with a new identity again lately, although cutting himself a china is a pretty big commitment. I don't think becoming a tomgirl/lesbian transgender female solved all his problems like he thought it would. I'm starting to wonder if that persona has run its course.

His faith that his life could be better if he reacted to some events and people got seriously watered down during the years, I believe.
Maybe he feels more powerless and hopeless than ever. He had more of youthfulness in his early videos.
His naiveté enabled the Internet to ruin his live. His increasingly decrepit mom doesn't help, either.
 
CWC's extreme lack of excercise and a very poor diet is making them age must faster. Plenty of 34 year-olds in America eat fast-food several times a week but they also have jobs and hobbies that get them out of the house and active. CWC has never been active in their life. I don't know if I can have sympathy for CWC but I want to. People with autism often have a strict personal schedule that they follow and can be very sensitive to change - which I think could be the explanation for CWC's poor diet. CWC has been eating McD's every day for so long that they just can't snap out of it, no matter how unhealthy it is.
There's help out there, and CWC could afford therapy and a nutritionist, heck maybe even a gym membership, with the tugboat, the problem is that CWC chooses to blow their money on lego instead.
 
He just hasn't really had a reason to get pissed off. Angry Chris is, without a doubt, my favorite Chris. Problem is he just goes away after he gets mad. It's kind of the final scene in any cwc activity period. Will we ever see a "DUUUUUUUUUUUUH YOU" again? Doubtful, but Chris is pretty fucking stupid. I mean he did mace a guy over blue arms.

Reality's been beating Chris up pretty bad recently. That and he's 34. He might be a kid on the inside, but he's an exceptionally bitter one who's rapidly approaching middle age and knows it. I wouldn't say he's "matured" but he's a lot more aware of his situation than he used to be, I think. He knows his life is fucked and he knows all those freakout videos just got him more attention than he wants at this point.

He's getting older, his health is deteriorating for a variety of reasons, and he's extremely depressed. A better word for Chris' current state is listless.
 
The death of Bob's pension check for the household really did a number on Chris.

Also, you can ask Marvin about Chris' current mental state, and he'll say that Chris is actually happy most days. Why would he be unhappy? He lives in a fairy tale every day of his life.

I think Chris reacts less violently now because everything's already been done to him, so there's very little for him to react to. He's already freaked out over getting doxed, having a video of him fucking a sex doll leaked, his ED article, parodies, impostors, weens showing up to his house, getting banned off of just about every website he used, getting hacked. He's not going to flip out at a whole lot anymore because he's already seen it years ago.
 
I was just talking about this with another kiwi, I feel like some of the trolling really gave Chris some purpose in life. He had torrid love affairs with multiple women including Hollywood starlets, arch-enemies with vast resources, a beloved comic and fans the world over. Though it was all a ruse, for a short time it must have felt like an autistic Hemingway novel to him. You haven't tasted the sweet nectar of life until you've had a woman hang herself because she wasn't allowed to see you and hid from an assassin under the stuffed animals on your couch..
 
We have a false vision of past Chris. People think those rage videos were all him. Did Chris get pissed? Yeah, but many times we see him chimping out on camera it's because he was told it'd be more intimidating by his troll handlers. That isn't to say they're fake. Many times Chris's own bizarre reasoning or wording is what made them memorable. Or his version of what intimidating is.

Edit: He also had a set of goals he thought he'd inevitably meet. Office job or house husband, wife, kids, house. He thought he'd have all of them by now. To him they were a promised future. What does he have now? His dad passed, his mom has gotten crazier and closer to passing herself, and money problems keep coming up due to poor planning. It isn't like the old days when it was just a long summer vacation for him while Bob and Barb handled all the grown up stuff.

Maybe we should just accept the fact that Chris was not all that interesting to begin with and his quickly deteriorating lifestyle has made that more apparent.

I think this is it more than anything. Chris may be thick skulked but hes not so thick that time wont take its toll. I think when he was first discovered he was full of hope and delusion that all his autistic fantasies would come true. But a decade of trolling and nothing to show for his "hard work" is beginning to take its toll on Chris. To me he seems some what depressed, and no wonder with his lack of friends and little social interaction. not to mention his health and home situation.
