Helldivers 2 - Hell is more diverse than ever as PlayStation's demographics continue to grow and change.

They also glow very bright, they should only get the drop on you if you're not really paying attention or if you're occupied by something else.
I generally agree, but the overall problem with Illuminate is they are designed so you are always occupied by something else. The entire faction's design philosophy is death by distraction.

Surrounded by Voteless? Switch to your crowd control and start blasting, oops you ignored the Overseer who ran up behind you and juggled you to death. Ok, focus the Overseer with a mag dump, oops you ignored the flying Overseer who threw the most precise grenade in gaming at your feet. Ok, time for careful sniping with path predicting, oops while you were scoped in a Fleshmob ran down the street and now you're squished.

Ok, dump half your resources into the bullet sponge (weak spot targetting LMAO good luck). Oops while you were emptying your gun a Harvester poked his head over a building and death lasered you from a previously safe angle. Ok break out the AT and aim at middle distance, oops while you had the ground out of view a Stingray strafed you. Ok bust out the medium pen and aim at the horizon, oops while you were doing that you got swarmed by Voteless again. Plus that Watcher hanging around while you killed the other 5 threats ran out his timer, so you have unkillable reinforcement ships beaming squads directly onto your head.

Now add the Leviathan to all this.

To be fair, every faction can kill you with distraction. I've died to Stalkers and Warriors while lining up shots on Bile Titans, but you can at least clear the ground before dealing with Titans or Chargers. You can position out of firing range for bots to deal with different threats. You can set up lengthy bombardment, fire, or sentries to deal with bug breaches. You can hide behind rocks and shoot down bot reinforcements. Etc.

Literally nothing gains you breathing room for Illuminate. You're fighting every style of threat, at all times, and any of them can pop up without warning at any point. There's no flow to the battle, you can't be strategic. It does encourage team play and sticking together to cover each other's weaknesses; but it does that by discouraging strategy and forcing the rock-paper-scissors countering game to be played every single second.

Just run sentries against the illuminate. Pick the sentry types that deal with the enemies you hate dealing with yourself then take a support weapon that handles the rest. Mg sentry plus gatling working together will thoroughly lock down an area from overseers and voteless, allowing you to focus down the tankier enemies.

In countless missions now I've times dead impacted these diamond-shaped snitches repeatedly with shit like Plasma Guns, and they stay in the air until 3-4 hits finally bring them down. It's a tiny, hyper-mobile flyer, and in any rational design document it wouldn't survive a number of hits on-par with a dedicated medium-tier enemy of another faction. But they fucking do.
I tested this myself, all I can say is don't use the Scorcher on Illuminate then. Every other Plasma gun can take them down in 1-2 shots depending on what you use. The Purifier just seems to be the best thing to use with a pistol secondary like the Peacemaker, Verdict, or anything else honestly to deal with the Squids. Again out of all of the enemies, I don't think the Watcher is the worst of the worst. Annoying? Sure, but I think the fact that any Bot footsoldier can call in reinforcements if anyone in its squad sees you.

Either I am insane or retarded (being on this site, the latter is true) but I personally think that it's fine. They're the faction that is supposed to put you under pressure constantly, but at the same time I believe that they are the easiest to contain during a battle and finish them off since they have only one unit that is able to call in reinforcements. You can wipe out an entire legion of the Squids with your squad if you're all smart enough to keep an eye out for the big fucking glowing floating beacon with next to no armor. All of the enemies besides the Fleshmob, Overseers, and obviously the Leviathan can be very easily countered in one way or another. Even the Harvester can be dealt with pretty easily just by breaking its shield and destroying its shield prong on the top of its head then shooting at its exposed points with a medium or heavy AP weapon or explosive, one EAT can take it down.

The biggest sin that this faction has that makes people say that they're the worst is just being a pressure based faction with major unit and variety stagnation, making them really easy to get tired of. They just need to nerf the armor and/or the health on the Overseers and Fleshmobs along with reworking or removing the Leviathan entirely then it would be perfect.

Are people bitching about the watcher and ignoring the ONE thing about them that's actually a problem? The fact that you can kill them, and their reinforcement call will still go out sometimes.
That is retarded, but no more so than a crippled bug missing its head and all its limbs somehow calling for reinforcements while dead, which also happens.

I just find the fact that fleshmobs are just a pure 6000 HP pool with no weak points or counters is astounding. Its nightmarish trying to fight the 5-6 that spawn at once on a hell dive or super helldive
BUH-BUH-BUH-BUH DA HEADS! You will never see all of because the thing is a spastic bastard.

All novelty of the Illuminate ended 4 days into Super Earth defense. (WAAAAAAAAAAAY sooner for me personally)

It's just not interruptable. Once they start the animation bugs are called there is no stopping it.

I think it still might be interruptable but when the spore smoke comes out it's over.

I've seen people say this but I don't think I've ever actually experienced it. Not saying it's not a thing that happens but I wouldn't be surprised if it has to do more with lag and your connection to the host or servers.

I'm planning to pick this one up when it comes to the Series X. Looks like a lot of fun.
I recommend it. Protip a lot of the starter strategems are viable at any difficulty as other ones. Except for rocket pods and orbital smoke those are hot garbage don't even buy them it just clutters your strategem menu

Your first warbond should be democratic detonation.

The more I play the more sick I'm getting of this super credit grinding. If they kept super credits for cosmetics I think that would be fine but tying premium currency into weapon and stratagem progression feels like free to play game pay-to-win tactics except you have to pay $40 to play the game.

They've also been making the warbonds smaller while still charging 1k credits. To add insult to injury playing higher difficulties punishes you because you'll get far less super credits due to higher odds of other random shit spawning reducing super shekel spawns and not having the time or reinforcements to explore on most 8-10 difficultly dives. Or you can play the boring super low difficulties to farm. I feel punished for wanting to play higher difficulties where it takes me 35+ hours of gameplay to unlock a single warbond unless I go spam level 3 missions.

I checked (((reddit))) to see what other retards think and unsurprisingly they're clapping like retarded seals talking about how the devs so generous to grace us with free curency and you should actually be grateful, sweaty. They're tying weapon and stragems behind overpriced warbonds that offer increasingly little content for your benefit, chud. And think of the free 500 currency. What are you, ungrateful? You don't think weapons should be tied behind premium currency in a game you already paid $40 for? Give the company more money and thank them for the honor. These people have stockholm syndrome.

The weirdest shit is Helldivers gets a pass from everybody for doing this. Imagine if any other game did this shit. Imagine if Deep Rock Galactic tied weapons behind premium currency, or Teamfortress 2, Vermintide, Darktide, so on. People would be upset. But with Helldivers everyone just accepts it. Put cosmetics behind paid currency, fine. But weapons and stratagems? Fuck off with that shit.

I hate modern games and modern "gamers"

It's fucking Reddit.

Being mad at them for being retards is like being angry at water for being wet.

Easily solved if MO's offered SC as a reward for completion instead of medals. Maybe not every single MO, but here and there a reward of 750 would motivate people. However that would also require no scripting/railroading and you'd have to let players actually win (or lose) in fun and interesting ways; the GM won't abide an iota of any of that.

on the one hand, fuck the developers of this game for being braindead retarded niggers that cant make the bugs loud enough, despite this issue being easily fixed with mods, so that players are aware that they are standing next to bugs. on the other hand, fuck bugdivers for being bitchmade babies that will kick you because they were standing in the middle of five bile spewers and your backpack drone hit them. guess if im going to play im going to have to host.
