Shit like this is what happens when dev niggers see gooners jacking it to overwatch porn and think that means faggot hero shooters are popular

On a side note gtao is older than overwatch and still more popular, why arent any of these fags trying to copy that? all I seen are shitty low budget mobile games doing it

Highguard doesn't even have entries in rule34, how could it survive?
The game is not attractive enough to justify it, even with the one obvious gooner bait character, nor is it ugly enough to parody by making it sexy like with concord. It’s so generic that no one cares.

Foolishness tbh. Throw as much money at Concord as possible and I don't think it even makes a splash. There are simply too many live service games out there, on top of shooter ones specifically. People at the top really be fiending for that live service fortnite money without understanding shit about what makes those games appealing.

And yeah, man. Bring out every failed franchise and the kitchen sink. Always interesting to look at what failed and why it did.
it’s definitely possible to succeed, Marvel Rivals and Ark Knights both proved that, but there needs to be a proper vision and way to stand out which this game doesn’t have. It’s every other AAA brown garbage looking game with a generic art style.

This game is a lot like Foamstars, Square Enix’s attempt at making a splatoon clone. Generic, very Fortnite inspired art style, bland gameplay that was noticeably worse than its competitor, and no sense of identity

I don't mind stylized artstyle, I often prefer it to realistic graphics (where it makes sense, Sunset Overdrive would be a good example). But how the fuck did game developers manage to make even that generic? It boggles the mind.
I wish we got another Sunset Overdrive game.

Devs usually have a developer tag. He could be a janny, I doubt it though. Probably just a retard. Regardless, the guy on some weapons grade copium. Have some more.

He is not a janny. Jannies have a star next to their name.

At least you have the choice, plus I think it's a good idea giving the troons their own little space to make their slop games; definitely preferable to letting them infiltrate projects that actually matter and fag them up with self-inserts and non-binary horse people.
as long as they don't cry genocide just because their fetish game doesn't appeal to me in any way.
there ARE titles out there made by trannies that are genuinely inspired, like the bloodborne kart game by infamous troon BunLith, but these games are almost always contaminated in one way or another.
and even IF we ignore them and leave them alone in their "safespaces", they will time and time again keep invading our spaces.
It's almost a rule of nature, a rule of tran if you will, to shove their disgusting axewounds in our faces and cry harassment if you say "no thank you, please get out."

But I digress, this isn't about Highguard. It's about escapism in general, because troons WILL infest everything eventually.

After this, what do you guys think will be the next AAA crash and burn?
Fairgames, if it comes out, but I don't think it will.

I said something similar when the Saints Row reboot came out (and swiftly failed). Even if the writing hadn't been cringe, what did the game offer that I couldn't get from a previous Saints Row game, or any of the other open world games already on the market?

I don't think studios do elevator pitches for investors any more. They write Fortnite's annual turnover on a whiteboard and say 'This could be us. Maybe. Probably not. Statistically not, actually. But maybe.'

I'm talking purely the art style no the game or the state of Marvel.

The Art style is very good and distinct, it's nothing like Overwatch, and it's clearly made by people who like old(er) comics, as the characters are much more built around 90s and early 2000s styles and motifs.
Again Overwatch was made specifically like Pixar.. this is not, sorry you are art illiterate/blind
I get it, Deadpools cock tastes like Chimichangas. Look, call it whatever you want but it's just a coat of paint and translating abilities into a hero-based shooter that will be fun upon release and then balanced into blandability as a new character goes and shines, where the match is made of 'metas' and 'newcomers'. You are jerking off an IP that is doing so bad that their best comic of 2025 was fucking 'BATMAN' related.

I was talking about everything else about the game and that it's just Overwatch but Marvel. I bet if I download and play it, I would run out of fingers for what characters are doing what Overwatch did at launch. Which shouldn't be hard as Overwatch looted from TF2 for a bunch of things as well that they went and distanced themselves with.

But yes. Overwatch went for a Pixar aethstetic, namely because they hired all the artists out of the same building where Pixar teachers retire to, And Marvel Rivals is a chinese clone with a licenced IP that allows boobs to exist. I know that much, but again... It's Marvel Overwatch. If I had to explain it to someone, that is what I would say.

Guess what? They did a Warner Brothers Smash clone and everyone simply just said 'Oh, It's Smash Bros but with Superman and Bugs Bunny.' You can argue all you want the graphics are different, the damage dealing is different, the supers are different. But it is basically a platform fighter inspired by Super Smash Brothers with their own IPs.

It always gets me because no game other than Fortnite could sustain being Fortnite. It gets new content every single week, major updates every month and is constantly adding new content and upgrades on top of a full suite for custom games. The developer turnover rate is intense because the game is effectively always crunching. Everyone wants to be Fortnite without realizing that it’s extremely expensive and labor intensive to do so.

Also for better or worse, Fortnite has one of the more consumer friendly monetization models, something no one else copies.
The main battle passes costs $8 each, but for a one time $11 a month purchase you get all current passes plus $10 of in game currency, and the main battle pass always gives you $9 worth of in game currency so you can in theory just buy it once and always get the next one. And if you keep the $11 a month Sub even when there isn’t a new pass, you get an exclusive skin every month, outfit variations for your existing exclusive skins, and still the $10 in currency. Some people even game the system by paying for the sub 3 weeks before the season ends, and getting both the current battle pass that’s ending and the new one for the $11 price.

On top of that, epic gives you reward points for every purchase that can accrue and be used for more in game purchases or any other epic game store purchase.

That’s the thing that baffles me the most about all these service games. Fortnite proved that you can make a fuck ton of money and still not rip off people. Yes, $5 a song is ridiculous, $5-$8 a dance is awful, and so of the cars cost $20. But you can still get a lot of stuff for cheap, for many $8 every 3 months, and 100% of the game’s non-cosmetic content is free to play without any limits, caps, or forced grind. The only negative for a free player is that the default character’s race changes every single game and you’ll be forced to occasionally be a black woman(which is a genius way to convince people to pay for skins… or sign up for a free lego account to get the lego girl skin just so you’re not a black woman)

I believe we have seen the game already dip below 10k player count within the early morning/night. I would highlight it, but KDE's screenshot feature is something I'm still learning, so just trust me when I say that around 10:00 am UTC, this game dipped into less than 7k players. At this rate, I wouldn't be shocked if the game is shut down within the year or even the next couple of months.

I am really happy that this game is free. It's refreshing to see that the general market is rejecting this type of game. There's an important lesson for CEOs and aggressive shareholders that they need to understand: these types of games are not going to become popular just like Fortnite no longer. I am genuinely pleased to see that a market correction is happening.

They won't learn.

There's still lots more coming. It'll be funny!
These games take upwards of 3 or 4 years to develop, and they are extremely reluctant to cancel games that have already had a lot of money spent on them. It does happen sometimes, but many will still come out anyways. There are probably at least 2 years of Concord-likes left.

I thought 10k was just a large dropoff. I didn't know the game was F2P

LOL RIP BOZO
Shit, being f2p was the only reason they hit 97k or whatever it was in the first place. If this were even $20 it wouldn't have had a fraction of its peak player count, and probably would have been closer to Concord if it were $40. The other part of the reason for the peak player count being at a weird time of day was due to the paid streamers wanting to get their required sponsored play time out of the way early.
