Today the final horse race test was released. The dev also did an interview with some blog.

In a twist ending, Jovial Merryment and the other one (who cares) lost to one of the abomination horses, then there were credits and that's it. I kind of expected him to do something with it but in the end, it stayed true to the Horse Race Test experience, it was really all just about horses bouncin' around.

I think it's kind of cool that both groups yell at me, and both groups are sending me death threats. I think that's really cool that they can come together to fuck with me.

I think what's cool about the horse game is people are being performative in a way that is just completely unacceptable in real life [laughs], which I think is so fun. I mean, I'm getting suicide threats constantly.

Holy shit, it's incredible how trivial the things people are willing to send death threats over are. Not even over money, these motherfuckers are just hating for the sake of it.
 
This is probably in the op and I'm a nimrod, but I just found a fan website dedicated to the HRT. It's got stats, tier lists, the timeline, racer specs, links to all the races, community comments, and A GAME. Browser and downloadable from what I can tell.

Btw. While perusing horse race test artwork and news and such, I had a terrible thought. Is there hrt fanart on e621? I soiled my browser history to find the answer, and that answer is YES. Less than a page thankfully.

Lmao I knew that would be the first reaction. I'd react the same way I suppose. If I had to be all erm ackshually, I'd say that browsing isn't the same as directly seeking out. And the thought process was like...morbid curiosity, y'know? In hindsight I definitely wish I had just stayed curious. And Delaware is right, hrt porn is everywhere already unfortunately

Saaaaaame :[ I'm mad at myself for not getting invested sooner even though I knew it existed. But maybe special brief internet fads like this wouldn't be so special if they lasted forever. It will be one of those "you just had to be there" things that you recall with a smile. In a few years you'll see threads like "Remember Horse Race Tests?", or you'll stumble across some hrt fanart stored away in a folder or in somebody's profile picture. Oh no...nostalgia. :(

It was ironic at first
But I've been starving for authentic content so much, that when I saw that there was a 43min long video out of this, I knew that this would be the highlight of my week

So, I'm just watching this video, baffled, thinking "what is going through this guy's head?"
I thought this was some weird ARG thing at first, but looking at his twitter, he has been doing this weird shit for years
I got the impression the guy is a high iq schizophrenic, and I'm just trying to figure out how his mind works

Why is jovial merriment some weird creature now?
Why is it called "Fearsome Fate" now?
I think that the tests are actually random, and this guy is sitting on dozens of them, and he always picks the one where Jovial wins, for some weird reason, and then he posts it on twitter

Anyways, I couldn't sit though the whole 43 minutes of the video, I skimmed through a lot of it
There are a couple of sections where the guy is giving live commentary on the horses racing, it's really funny
