How did you find out Phil in the first place?

One day in July 2014, I was talking to a close friend on PSN and he told me to look up a video of DSP failing at Kingdom Hearts (this one, to be specific). My exact response was "Who the fuck is DSP?" and I watched the video.

The rest is history.
 
Looking up Spiderman Web of Shadows videos, came across his by chance and was annoyed by how he mispronounced the word "Symbiotic" as "Sym-Bye-ote" turned me off from him and his camera recording. Then found him again from Retsupurea.

Found out about him from my then-crush who was into MGS and he sent me the TIHYDP MGS3 video.

It's been all downhill ever since.

I first heard of Phil when the first DSP thread was around though I may of actually heard of him earlier when a couple guys may of referenced him, at least something along the lines of a fighting game tournament player being banned though they could of referred to someone else though I may of heard on them say king of hate. Money's on the thread though.
 
I found out about Phil through seeing a "TIHYDP Dark Souls" video in my youtube recommendations.
 
Like the OP i found out about DSP though the Archfiends beef with Tobuscus, i thought at the time that phil was a decent person and subbed to him..checked out his videos..realized he was a twat and unsubbed and went into therapy.

Then i randomly discovered TheycallemeTXT on twitter and got into the whole detractor thing.
 
It may have been a Snort video possibly , but I think i really started watching those Street Fighter and other fighting game videos then. It was around late 2016 and I watched the videos and was amazed at what I saw.
 
I was considering buying the ghostbusters game for ps3 and his was the only gameplay videos i could find, was fascinated that someone would just film themselves playing without any effort.
 
I heard about him through Retsupurae back in the day. I think the ChipCheezum video mocking his MGS2 Let's Play made me start watching the TIHYDPs. I tried watching his streams a couple of times but I've never made it more than 20 minutes because they're so fucking boring.
 
I was browsing gameFags and was on the Dark Souls board. Somebody posted his original run of Dark Souls and I was fascinated by his twenty minute struggle to figure out how to kick.

When learning about GamerGate brought me here, I was quite pleased to see DSP as a major part of the site.

I had no idea what Gamergate was so I typed it into google and Brianna Wu's KF page was one of the first hits. I read the entire 1000+ page thread and haven't stopped reading about lolcows since. I've read up on so damn many.
 
The Retsupurae of Phil not knowing how to use the Coolant or rations was my first dose of Phil. Then TiHYDP MGS3 sealed it.

I was looking for old BlackBusterCritic videos that were not on his channel, and I stumbled upon Christmas Bedpan's DSP videos back in 2014. I have followed DSP's antics ever since.
 
I fought him in SFIV a few times and beat him. I had no idea who he was until I started looking for tutorial videos on YouTube and his hundreds of shit matches showed up in search results. Never subscribed to any of his channels on or off YouTube. Instantly forgot about him until Mai NeenJa had Dave's dumb ass in his salt videos.

I actually think my initial exposure might be the strangest of all: Someone who I enjoyed for a while (Irate Gamer riffer, there's an ancient one) suddenly showed up with, essentially, a TIHYDP of Mega Man. And I watched it, and was amazed. And a little embarrassed. And even more amazed that DSP refused to edit out his fails. And I jumped right in, and here we are now.

I was browsing cringe videos on YouTube and one video of him and Pandalee was in the compilation. Something compelled me to look up that specific clip and I watched more videos of him and Pandalee or just Pandalee and then lost interest before the surface was even scratched. Then I briefly read his thread here before he got his own board and somehow lost interest or forgot. Took a break from KF and saw that he had his own board when I came back and I've been obsessed ever since. It's amazing and it's really destroying my productivity but not complaining.
