Like I said, I don't disagree with what everyone's saying about there being no need to feel remorse, I just don't think it's as much of an epidemic as it's being played up to be.

I also think it's less troll's remorse in a lot of cases than it is people having their confirmation bias challenged. Internet lore holds that "people who talk about suicide all the time don't do it" and that "cutters don't kill themselves". Neither of those things are true, but they're widely believed online and waved around almost like magic talismans.

I think that what some are perceiving as troll's remorse is more a case of people being surprised, or perhaps even a little confused, by their assumptions not holding true rather than any belief that KF has any responsibility for how events played out. It's more "well I didn't expect that to happen than "omg what have we done".

Julie wasn't exactly notorious for suicide threats, unlike a lot of cows who constantly threaten it. In fact, even her final Facebook message was apparently not explicit enough that anyone called the cops, even though people have in the past over such threats.
