The drag queen's back story seems to imply that they became a drag queen after seeing a drag show as a minor. It might just be clunky wording, like "Oh, I was a sad gay boy, but when I became an adult I realized I loved drag!" or something. Idk, I have a bad habit of assuming good intentions in people who have none. It really wouldn't shock me if they were promoting underage drag queens.

That person is only saying that because the game was a hilarious flop. If it had been a success, they'd be calling it "bold, unapologetic camp" instead of "transphobic."

Given how much time, money, effort and talent it makes to even make a mediocre AAA game, it's incredibly hard to make a game that topples Overwatch, especially considering there are already like a dozen games adjacent to it.

I just realized what this reminds me of. Its like Killjoys, that show which I believe thought it would be a Firefly spiritual successor , but turned out to just be so unbelievable, aggressively generic.

Do you think they'll ever stop trying to push stylistically low-brow worlds? Is it the irony-poisoning, or is it just that they can't tell the difference between low brow and low fantasy?

They don't need ROI so long as the industry is the way it is. Even ignoring the Fed, for decades, companies like Blackrock, Vanguard, State Street, erc have become the place where everyone parks their money to get easy and cheap exposure to a diversified portfolio of companies, it's their primary business model. Even if your retirement account isn't managed by them, it is probably put into one of their many ETFs and Mutual Funds because they offer the lowest fees and it takes a few clicks to instantly get a diversified retirement account in almost every asset you could want. Hedge Funds and Banks use their ETFs and Mutual Funds for the same reasons, as unless you only only investing in a few individual stocks, the standard is to use the index funds by Blackrock and co.

So basically it's another example of "fake economics." Nothing of value is being produced, distributed or sold. Numbers on a page are moving around.

It's a lucrative industry. To give concrete numbers, VOO, one of Vanguard's funds, simply invests in the S&P 500 companies and is made for boomers who just want to click one button and get a nice diversified portfolio of corporate America without having to manually invest or do any research themselves, while watching their portfolio grow. They currently manage almost 1 trillion in just one fund. They take a small 0.03% annual fee, which is nothing to any fund or individual invested with them, but taking that percentage of a trillion, that is 300 million a year for one fund in revenue. And this is regardless of if the actual stocks go up or down.
