The "Do it, fag!" response has been heartening. They're probably trying to get as much money as they can since they know this and Pharaoh are never going to make their money back.
This will fail, but Pharoah is basically fancy Troy DLC, so won't take much to turn a profit.
Compared to the cashcow of Warhammer though, it's nothing.

I'm not usually the first one to complain that they are deliberately making it ugly, but what the hell else do you call this shit? Who wants this? Even people who look like this don't want to be presented like this, that's why they use cutesy avatars on social media. Even if the game was good, this presentation is such a massive turnoff.

This looks like a parody of what people think of when they hear “ forced diversity”. There’s no way people actually like this.

Remind me how well Troy did, though? I'm pretty sure it didn't do very well and something tells me Pharaoh will do even worse.

To be an "overwatch killer" you have to offer something that we haven't seen yet, not the same shit but gayer and more repetitive.

Did I read that right? They've named a faction "the Taint" in their anti capitalistic lore?
This is all we have to look forward to, these are the writers of today. This reminds me of inXile - of which is like one OG guy? - working on the Fallout MMO with Monkey Butt Mines. Thank God that fell through...

CA will do anything to avoid making a proper historical Total War game again won't they. To be fair if they make a game like Hyenas it's probably best they don't develop another one.

It's hard to say, as Troy was absolutely free on release day, so lots of people 'bought' it but didn't bother playing it.
Pharoah seems to be basically historic-mode only Troy

Pretty much.

Yeah, free on Epic. Wonder how many Tencent Bucks they got given for that, though. As to Pharaoh... how many people anyone actually care about that period of time? For Christ's sake CA has also shot themselves in the foot by making it the Bronze Age period with no mention of the Myceneans, and the map is just Egypt, Canaan, and Anatolia.

Everyone wants Medieval 3, they want knights and longbow men and mongol hordes. It can be argued that Total Warhammer kind of gives that, but it would be nice to have without all the fantasy stuff.

Remember the old days of gaming when we didn't find out about canceled games until many years after they were already quietly shelved? I kind of miss those days.

Not that anyone was looking forward to this. Aside from zero gravity and containment foam, I didn't see anything in that trailer that hasn't already been done before.

oh no no no no no.....

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!

at one hand, its smart they didn't even bother releasing this but in another, we lost some good entertainment.

"edit" people are speculating that the real reason for the games cannulation, is because ESG are re-branding themselves and decided to freeze all their funds at the moment.
