Whatever dude, I only know they released a half baked mess, was left as is and it still sold decently well purely on being Sonic. That a legion of autists decided to fix it up doesn't change how it released or how Sega has never bothered to release a "Extreme version: it actually works thus time". Exact same story with Boom.

Another thing I forgot to mention, CA has waaaay too many employees. God I hate corporate bloat, what do you need 900 employees for? Because it's clearly not making good games.

Devs wanted to do so badly, but Sega didn't even give them the go ahead to patch the game, leaving it in a state it is now. Game was fine, problem came with Sega and it's mismanagment.
Maybe do your research next time when bringing up examples like this

Game was released broken and left broken and Sega was fine with it since it still sold, Heynas has no hope in hell in getting those numbers so it got cancelled, there is nothing else to add to that.

I have had to deal with issues like this myself, both with familiar languages like COBOL and with weird esoteric crap, like one shop I contracted for was using a failed Java competitor from the 90s for their revenue management. In addition to industrial environments, there's all sort of weird CRUD applications out there that are way past their expiration date.

Complacency with technical debt is the key ingredient for these sorts of environments. Redesign it? Hire a younger backup developer? Too expensive! It just works... until it doesn't and you can't find anyone to make it work. Then you end up paying some MSP seven or eight figures to solve the problem you created.

Waifu simulator anime games (courtesy of Atlus) and Dreamcast nostalgiafags on youtube have convinced the younger generations that Sega is a competent company and not a bunch of greedy morons who failed again and again at every step.

Unfinished games ARE bad games. Unfinished, buggy, whatever, it doesn't matter if the devs could have fixed it later, it didn't happen and even fixing a bad game later still doesn't change that it launched as a bad game no matter what game/IP/etc. it is. Acceptance of bad games, for whatever the reason they happen to be bad, is one of many issues plaguing the game industry allowing publishers to shovel garbage out the door knowing it'll sell.

And considering the game sold over 2 million copies, all that does is act as another example of consumers putting up with shitty practices from game publishers.

Sonic fags, like Bethesdrones, rate a game by what it SHOULD have been, what they IMAGINE it to be or what they believe it COULD HAVE been, not for what it actually is...
 
It’s too bad the game is dead, the gameplay didn’t look half bad. The industry went two for two on this genre now after law breakers. Eventually someone’s is going to nail this zero gravity or relativity shooter thing… but they have to fix the fundamental game mechanic first. If you want a relativity shooter then the map can’t be static, it needs to have no preferred orientation. Oh and I don’t know why both hyenas and lawbreakers wanted to do this thing where the zero g is limited and you go back to foot travel at times… very silly.
