What were the prompts, exactly

From what I recall one of the prompts was to do an essay on why words like mankind were demeaning to women. Another was a similar concept on why words which were variants according to gender like headmaster/headmistress was sexist. A lot of the students including myself in my class struggled to reach the three page minimum requirement for a passing grade on the latter.

Point of fact--and please note that this is just me being silly:

Write a paper about how writing papers is the patriarchy in action. Propose that you, as a woman, should not be expected to quantify your lived experience nor subject it to a male professor's scrutiny, after which he may engage in mansplaining via "correcting" your paper. And if he gives it a grade less than an A, then he is also wielding the power of the patriarchy over you.

And then note that the grand irony is that written language is truly a social construct, one which institutions founded and operated by rich white cis-males force all others to embrace.

...Again, just me being silly, but wouldn't it be hilarious to watch the faculty tear itself apart like the Omnidroid from The Incredibles?

Take the contrarian approach. Do the assignment by disagreeing with the premises. If the teacher wants you to explain why X is oppressed, explain why they are not. Use good citations and so on, and if she dunks on you dispute the grade.

I dont know, i'm not fully subscribed to that explanation. I think theres probably some psychological thing that exists in most, or a large number of humans that people have figured out how to turn the knob on. And the mass shitflinging, cancel culture, with us or against us etc is the result of that. I dont think its some internal puppeteer group recruiting loyal slaves and building a nation of useful idiots. I'm not saying its wrong, I just dont think thats the cause.
