I have a gender studies assignment that I need to submit today. - It's bad.

Gender sterotypes are:

I dont know, i'm not fully subscribed to that explanation. I think theres probably some psychological thing that exists in most, or a large number of humans that people have figured out how to turn the knob on. And the mass shitflinging, cancel culture, with us or against us etc is the result of that. I dont think its some internal puppeteer group recruiting loyal slaves and building a nation of useful idiots. I'm not saying its wrong, I just dont think thats the cause.

How could it be true AND not the cause?

Either it's wrong, or it's (part of) the cause.

It also doesn't really matter if it's puppeteered / engineered, or if it developed organically. The way it functions isn't changed by its intent.

My point is that even if you figure out how to turn the knob on, you are training yourself into a habit of bowing and agreeing to something you know to be false and it's hard to predict what are the consequences of that habit of moral lapse. It reminds me of an old ritual that the Chinese emperors used to have, where people would bow to them and they'd walk over the small of your neck. People have this fantasy that you could allow something like that to be done to you and be psychologically unaffected by it.

I genuinely believe that there's value for a ruling class to have a number of "emperor's clothes" things in society. As an example, practically everybody knows that having trannies in female sport competition is ridiculously unfair. And you only have to watch 5 minutes of it if you are undecided. But despite everybody knowing this, it is paraded in front of us like a great new progressive advance in society. It's daring people to speak against it. It's a good way to find out who is disagreeable. Much like the soviet communist speeches where the people that clapped least long were sent to the gulags. We're obviously not at that level yet and if we get there, it might be as severe but will also be different in nature. But the mechanics are the same, the way it functions is the same; those that don't pretend hard enough to go along are punished for it.

And it isn't even just about the person getting punished; that's mostly a spectacle to strike fear into others who might have been considering it. All these things like James Damore, it doesn't matter to google if they're proven to be correct; as long as they're also proven to pay a price for speaking the truth, so few will emulate him.

The principled, the morally upright, they're weeded out or forced to bend, bow and have someone walk over the small of the neck. And if they don't bend, they're object examples of why you should bend.

Genuinely nice post to read through, better than the garbage I'm used to wading through, nice to see someone who knows how to think.

You're right that the cause doesn't matter as long as the function is the same. Those scenarios you mentioned like trans in the olympics, I've seen only a few articles that speak out about it, and its usually the same small set of articles which makes it seem like data or circumstances are cherrypicked so those who oppose it have something to run with. Thats the kind of thing that makes me lose faith. Knowing that my belief or opinion is just associated with people who are hated or people who legitimately act like assholes. That's really lo-fi way of getting rid of dissenters, no one wants to be hated, and if the only ones who have that opinion are hated, then you conform to not be hated, or you give up and associate with the assholes.

Scientist, expert, professor, university degree, as long as one of these synonyms is quoted as saying something is true to back up whatever lie is being perpetuated, its easy to agree with as long as its not too outlandish.

just make a Powerpoint of some playboy pages and point at boobs for half an hour.

Holy shit, I woke up to 45 notifications. Didn't think this would blow up after my last post.
If one of these assignments ever comes around that require you to do more than some halfassed google searches to complete, just proposition your professor for sex. If they call you out on it just say that it was a commentary on the power dynamics between men/women and professor/student and the offer of sex was your assignment. If they accept then you go on twitter and screech.
Problem: The professor is a female who is a distance teacher. As in she just sends us links to read and watch. I don't even know where she works.
Please explain
What is there to explain? I don't own one anymore because we aren't dating? I dunno hahaha.
You could sneak in a ‘As a nonbinary lesbian’ and you’re sure to get an A!
Problem: we were required to input if we were ever in a relationship with someone in a form. I put yes and with a younger guy I knew.

Yes dudes, I was a oneesan dating a younger guy, though not that young that he was a shota.
Should of just walked into class, told the professor that as a woman you shouldn't have to remind him or explain to him the evils of the Patriarchy™ and that him demanding you write a paper on it is the epitome of male privilege and sexual discrimination. With any luck you'll get him fired, be able to sue him for all he's worth, and even if you don't get your degree the fame alone will carry you for a while.
Problem: see above.

Wait what? What the hell business of your college is that? Do go to a religious school or something? Also, you can be bi. It's CURRENT YEAR for heaven's sake.

@Foolish Samuari Warrior if you still have it and you don't mind, can you share what you submitted? Would be an interesting read.
Really? I mean it's complete garbage but ok. Lemme see if I haven't deleted it haha.

What kind of Mickey Mouse bullshit degree are you going for where that isn't a completely avoidable elective?

What kind of completely useless course are you taking that would give you a gender studies assignment in the first place?

Reaction to the evils of patriarchy.

Honestly as someone who grew up with a father who actually knew his shit, it's blows my mind the nonsense women sprout out.

Sweetie do you even English? Your father may be the patriarch of your family but that has zero to do with the kind of "patriarchy" they talk about in gender studies-DO YOU KNOW THAT?

Looks about on par with what I could've wrote. Unless your professor is a complete cunt, I think you aced it.

Hmmm. Okay. So this is pretty bad from an academic standpoint, but it does have words and citations. At this point in the game if I were the instructor and this passed the plagiarism checker, and I do see original thinking here at least, I'd give it a B- for a Freshman level course. What kind of school still allows Wikipedia as a reference?

say that reading about the patriarchy and social inequality has made you relive a past trauma and you are unable to do the assignment under such emotional distress. if she makes you write the paper anyway, write about how you're unable to write the paper.

I know OP said Entertainment but this is why I'm doing my IT bachelor's through Capella University. Was going to do Cleveland State, but even for Comp Sci/IT they make you throw away money on mandatory SocJus courses. No fucking thanks.

What the hell kind of class asks you about previous relationships you've had? If I were you I'd file a title IX complaint over that alone.
