I'm not trying to say that I disagree with the concept that Chris truly believes he is talking to his characters; Marvin has stated many times that is the case and, generally, Marv isn't in the wrong. The idea seems logical and, certainly, it holds together while explaining the very odd actions Chris has taken throughout this saga.
The problem I'm having is in coming to terms with *how* Chris can believe he is speaking with his own characters. I understand that the line between reality and fantasy is very blurred for Chris at the best of times and, with his life in the real world spiralling further out of his control, he desperately wants to believe that CWCville is real and that he can go there and live permanently. I even understand that Chris views his creative processes (his dreams and the ideas he comes up with) as his characters telling him what is going on with their lives, which Chris merely chronicles.
But, still, (well, to me, at least) there is a big difference between Chris fantasizing something, convincing himself Sonichu told him it happened, and drawing it into his comic than there is with some random person contacting him, telling Chris that he is Sonichu and filling his skull with all of the nonsense that we've seen ( to say nothing of the stuff that goes against the canon Chris has already established). I just find it hard to comprehend that Chris would blithely accept all of that as fact and dutifully publish it. After all, at some point deep down, doesn't Chris realize that Sonichu really isn't real, or is he truly that stupid and/or delusional?
I share your disbelief, but events have proven that this is the case.
The part we don't know yet about this troll's plot is the "in", what does the Idea Guy have that all those weens didn't? Clearly it isn't just a case of his signal cutting through the noise and just reaching Chris.
We have seen the Sonichu and Rosechu pretender weens, and we have seen Desiree Delightful try similar stunts, all of which has failed. So clearly there must be some special sauce or ingredient we don't know about.
Also, Chris clearly isn't blindly accepting that stuff, you've seen how salty he was over transRosechu, he did the poll on Rosechu becoming trans, and how he deleted it all when the poll didn't turn out to his liking, which inherently means that he is still fighting for his personal vision in some way.
The info dump will happen. It has to. If it doesn't, there is no point at all to Idea Guy's trolling. While a good part of the Quinn saga happened privately, the breakup and the resulting fallout were public. Otherwise, how could Quinn (or Idea Guy, for that matter) try to cement his/her status as a master troll?
What I mean by info dump is the conversations and new info this troll has acquired on Chris, Jessica still hasn't dropped hers, which Chris has taken as evidence she isn't a troll if you remember.
I don't mean to sound cold but life goes on for Chris. It always does. One of the most admirable things about Chris is that he somehow manages to bounce back from everything. Yes, the Simonla incident kept Chris from writing Sonichu for a while but I'm pretty sure that, in his mind, things continued on their merry way in CWCville. Then, when Chris realized he could get Patreonbux from publishing Sonichu, he started publishing it again.
More than likely, #2 will happen. Chris has already been forced to face the Simonla paradox once, he dealt with it, and emerged none the worse for wear. Once the Idea Guy comes clean, I have no doubt that Chris will retcon everything he doesn't like, add in more ponies, and life in CWCville will continue unabated. After all, one of the benefits of being a god/dictator of your own little world means that things don't need to be logically consistent.
I honestly don't see it that way, I think that Chris has accumulated damage from the constant trolling he got, kind of like a boxer, they keep making comeback after comeback, but ultimately the damage accumulates and you suddenly hear that Boxer X got punch-drunk syndrome for example, the damage builds up over time.
Also, you need to realize what the success of this troll saga means, it is conclusive evidence that Chris can't actually see CWCville, even in the schizo way some people theorized, because if he did, then this troll plot simply won't work on him, you know? He would be easily capable of saying "Hmm, no, I see Sonichu in front of me, and you're not Sonichu" or something to that effect.
Marvin previously said that Chris has resorted to making his initial defenses very hard, right? Well, after this troll plot ends, he has to fix this loophole, right? Or otherwise he risks getting trolled again but in a slightly different way. The only foolproof way to achieve this would be to
never think of CWCville as real again. Sure, he may deny it all happened and CTRL+Z his way back to what the hugbox used to be, maybe even give us a couple of posts saying that CWCville is better than ever! But deep inside, he'll know it isn't real, and it will eat at him.
Though either way this pans out, it will be more informative than funny, just like this whole saga.
I know it's

to put it mildly, but I'd still be willing to wager on the Tao Of Maud guy being Ideas Guy. Consider - someone possibly faking mild autism himself, who just happens to be heavily into pony crap as well as spirituality/psychic powers crap, and would thus be the perfect person to hoodwink Chris into accepting the possibility of psychic newsflashes being sent from those in CWCville. And Chris is ready to suck up whatever old crap 'Maud' comes out with unquestioningly, as we've seen for months now, even adopting Maud-isms such as 'namaste' while clearly being clueless as to what they mean.
Further to this, how could our latest contender continue to influence Chris if he stopped the Maud updates as he'd said he would? Short answer - he couldn't. Chris is now treating Maud's stuff as holy writ. So, 'Maud' declares with false modesty that his girlfriend's asked him to continue it because it 'helps' other people so much. Nah. He's the only one, other than Chris, who gives a shit about it continuing. Because it allows him to play Chris like a fiddle with

.
Tao of Maud = ToM = ToMgirl. That one's purely circumstantial, but I genuinely reckon the guy behind 'Maud' is still a prime suspect for Ideas Guy.
Tao of Maud made a very big deal about closing the channel because some harassment problems in the Brony community weren't solved, I doubt it's them.
