I could tell that when I came here I was just here for the afterparty and that I would never really get what brought people here in the first place. Like albinoblacksheep, you just wouldn't understand if you weren't there and in retrospect it looks silly when taken out of it's unique time and context.

I know I'm probably part of the decline, like after centuries when the first bacteria that could digest trees showed up and finally the giant piles of fallen down trees could finally be cleaned up. I'm like one of those new bacteria that can digest plastic. I'm here to feast on the rotting kiwi's. The short time here has been tremendous fun. It's rare to have websites that aren't sanitized corporate monopoly's these days. One with character. It may be a shadow of its former self, but that shadow still has more definition and personality than 99.99% of other sites, because it's obviously lovingly handcrafted.

In my time on the net I've seen many things eventually go down the drain and this site still seems far from it. The decline may have begun, but if you didn't have the responsibility, cost, investments tied up with it, it'd be easier to have fun with it. Figure out a way to give yourself an extended break. You'll know if you want to come back or not pretty quickly.

Finally remember. The huge outpouring of positivity that's been in these 37 pages so far, is VERY VERY rare. It's not something that should bind you to this place, but it is something to be proud of.

All of a sudden they're sending me rough drafts for a music video highlighting a ton of stuff I'd never even seen you say which fit with the lyrics to nearly a perfect T. They turned it into a message from the community and from what I've seen you've never even attempted a reply to it.

I might not be an old fag, and frankly I don't care. You push off responding to criticism that might make you look inwardly and realize you are just as much a part of the equation that is your life. You wait until it comes to a head, then push it off as people attacking you.

I'm actually surprised with you Null. You proactively made this statement. You didn't let it build up, you put it out there for all to see, and you are actively seeking advice on topics. Its a big change from thinking you are always right, and believing that your course of action will be the best. Rather than lashing out at people right now take this time to reflect on what they're saying, and what you can do to be better.

To give my two cents on your 3 statements, just slow down on one. A relationship built on just one subject is destined to fail. Relationships just for sex will be just as unfulfilling as a relationship for companionship or a relationship for profit. You don't want to find someone that will just give you a kid you want someone who you will go through life with.

That's the most common retort I see, "A&H is too homogeneous when it comes to the views shared there." This is usually accompanied alongside criticisms of the president, or his followers, or whomever, because for some people r/The_Donald is their equivalent to "I bet the Jews did this."

Given the state of current politics and the most common responses to it, I don't see a (naturally-occurring) zeitgeist as bad. Rather, I see it as people coming to a similar conclusion based on evidence (usually) and reason. The only time I would consider "A&H is too ideologically similar" a reasonable criticism is if views contrary to those views were outright banned. As it stands they just get negative ratings, which are worthless.

I haven’t used the site as a user for long, but I was a lurker long before. I completely understand your desire to have a more stable life, and if this site in standing in the way of that then fuck it.

With that said, I feel like KF is the only place in my life where I can authentically express myself without being ostracized by friends, family, and my employer. Even though all good things come to an end, I just wanted to say that I am truly grateful for you having preserved this space for as long as you have. Thank you for all that you’ve done, and I hope you keep taking donations. I want to give back a little.

Late the responding to this, of course. Not sure if you’ll read this amidst all of the other responses, but do know you’re appreciated for your work and efforts here despite the numerous detractors. I’ve turned a few real life friends on to site as a refuge from social media norms, and they’ve thoroughly enjoyed their stay. I cannot imagine the amount of mental fatigue you must have managing all of these ventures. You are a babysitter for a very vocal part of the Internet.

I don’t know how you do it. I don’t know how you wake up knowing that people wish harm upon you based upon the content hosted on your website. I don’t know how you can live so far away from your family friends. I don’t know how you do any of this.

I’m not much older than you, and started a family a few years ago. It’s an incredibly gratifying feeling, the best ever. This site, however, is my salvation from the typical grind. You have no idea how much I appreciate being able to come here, be a dickhead, read “unbiased” opinions, have an interesting news article aggregate, etc.

My account is on the newer side but I’ve lurked forever. If this site is bringing you more dismay than it pleasure, it’s not selfish of you to want to prioritize what you feel is more important to you.
