Why haven't the bugs bitten Chris or Barb yet? They seem like they wouldn't pay for an exterminator.

From what I recall, Chris managed to keep the majority of Barb's hoard out of his room, and that includes the majority of the bugs. Chris spends almost all his time in there, and judging from the Facebook dump, so does Barb now.

Think about that. Chris' room is the cleanest part of that house. :briefs:
Nah, Chris stopped having access to his room because Barb doesn't want to let him have privacy. Staying in the same room as her doesn't mean she's coming to him, it's the opposite.

But yeah, his room's a lot cleaner than the rest of the house.

Edit: clarification, he doesn't have absolutely zero access to his room, but like his access to the outside world, it's limited, I believe.

So it's not enough that Barb fucked Chris up from the get-go with shitty parenting. Now she's compounding all of his other issues by making him a shut in - a recluse. She's also fostering a sense of helplessness. At this point, Chris will never be able to take care of himself once she's gone.

Yes, Chris has proven time and time again that he doesn't know how to act appropriately in pubic, but he may be able to be taught. If Barb (or Rocky) really cared about him, they'd see about getting him into an adult day program. He could get up to 40 hours per week of supervised activities / outings with a staff member. This may help him develop some social skills, assuming that he's not too far gone at this point.

Then again, Chris might not be receptive to such an arrangement. He'd probably see the staff person as a babysitter. (Which, to be honest, they basically are.)

Still, you'd think that anything would be better than being holed up with Barb.

Marvin, could you clarify this some? Does Chris keep his vidya in his room, or has he moved them to whatever space he is sharing with Barb? How exactly is she restricting access to his room, is she telling him to not go in there or making him ask permission before he can go in there? Why doesn't Barb want to allow him privacy? I imagine he looks forward to errands because it gets him away from her, unless she tags along...

He has a bunch of stuff in his room. There's not enough space in the room they're staying in for him to stash his stuff there.

And I guess saying Barb's restricting his privacy might not be the best way to phrase it. I said privacy because I was thinking of her wanting him to sleep in the same room as her, but I think her motivation is more just that she doesn't want Chris to be away from her, even if it's just upstairs in his room.

I was kinda surprised at that. I thought she would've at least let him play his video games in his room, but I guess she's getting crazier about letting Chris have time away from her. I imagine that he can go into his room, but if he's gone for too long, Barb would probably get antsy.

Most of his errands are him alone, but occasionally he'll take her along. She might want to look for new things for the hoard at goodwill. :tomgirl:

Could Barb wanting Chris to sleep in the same room with her have something to do with her sleep apnea? Maybe she's afraid that she'll stop breathing in the middle of the night and nobody will be there to notice.

I'm not sure that Chris would notice though.

WHAT THE HELL. Chris must of done something really bad that only him and Barb know about to have him practically banished from his bedroom.

barb is obviously very depressed and very old.

and also very selfish to not realize the harm she is causing her son.

Maybe? I don't know. I think it just fits into the rest of her craziness and her restrictions on Chris' freedom.

So if he is forced to share a bed with another person, isn't it curing his "messed up biological clock"?

Barb doesn't have a job either, so there's the chance that her bio clock is now screwed up too.

Probably. But I don't know when his biological clock was last still fucked up.

I think Bob told some trolls that Barb and Chris both sleep mostly during the day and stay up at night. Evidently Barb was sometimes active during daylight hours, but she might have usually gotten up at 2 or 3 pm. Seeing as how she almost never leaves the hoard now she probably just mostly sleeps. Maybe her inactivity has gotten to the point where she's as bit up as Bob was.

In theory someone could watch the "Trophies By Time" section on his PSN profile and copy down the numbers every day, and use the differences to see what time his new trophies are being added these days. I'm not going to though (:_(

That's a good point. Though that's something I'd automate. I've got better things to do with my time. Well, also, does the psn profile include vita times? How do those work? Because he's probably playing that more if Barb is pestering him about his ps3 playing.

I'd post the house centipede but whenever I do that people shit their pants

OMFG! I see what you mean. Hard to believe they can get THAT big though. Not positive that the image below isn't shooped.

images
I can assure you that image in entirely real, I've seen that species of centipede in real life (in a zoo of course)
EDIT: Oh if you mean do house centipedes specifically get that big, they don't. The biggest one I've ever seen was about as long as my finger including it's freaky lil' butt legs. And trust me, I've seen a shit ton of them.

Or maybe she does realize and just doesn't care how much harm she's causing. I wouldn't put it past her to realize how much she's messing him up/making him miserable and just not care so long as she has her little manbaby at her beck and call.

14BC probably has German roaches that are big enough to satisfy a bearded dragon, a Russian tortoise or an iguana. I once set foot in an abandoned hoarder house and liberated a number of things, I was probably 13 years old then, there were German roaches of the type I believe to be in 14BC. I still have the Hallicrafters Loudenboomer tube amplifier (needs rewiring), a Speedy Alka-Seltzer nodder, a tin model of a Volkswagen bug and a few other small things I liberated, after I got them cleaned up and made sure there was nothing living or dead inside.

I have it on good authority these are the bugs infesting 14BC. Poor Bob never stood a chance.
