Oh, so is that what happened? I knew a publication happened that triggered the lawsuit, but I didn't catch wind that it was a fan encyclopedia Rowling ended up using herself multiple times.

"This is such a great site that I have been known to sneak into an internet café while out writing and check a fact rather than go into a bookshop and buy a copy of Harry Potter (which is embarrassing)."

Wait what the fuck? Does she not own her own copies/notes of her own story? Does the bitch seriously not take the time to go skimming through her own documents, or is she that seriously disorganized? And where the fuck was her editor while she was writing?

For the sake of quality control, there should be a rule in the publishing world that as soon as an author makes this kind of excuse, there's no going back from being unmasked as the hack writer they are and should fuck off into the ether never to return to writing. Stephenie Meyer said something similar when an editor or whoever leaked documents of her unfinished Midnight Sun (a retelling of Twilight through Edward's eyes) and she had such a fit over it that she stopped working on it, stating, "If I tried to write Midnight Sun now, in my current frame of mind, James would probably win and all the Cullens would die, which wouldn't dovetail too well with the original story. In any case, I feel too sad about what has happened to continue working on Midnight Sun, and so it is on hold indefinitely." She still kept the chapters on her website for fans to read, but has no plans on touching it again. Which is for the best.

Edit: I cant find any article proving this but I distinctly remember there being talk between 5-6 about Nagini being a animagus but that rumor was shut down by Rowling saying she was just a smart snake And then implying that her standing as a horcrux made her more intelligent.

Supposedly Nagini has turned out to have been some Asian witch who was an Animagus all along, but she was cursed to eventually, permanently become a snake. Thing is, as far as I can bloody remember, this was never mentioned in the books, she was just some giant-ass snake Voldemort had to do his bidding. I think Nagini was the one who attacked Arthur Weasley in the fifth book, and Harry had a vision where he was the snake. If Nagini still had a human mind inside the body of a snake (unless her mind went, too, I don't know, don't give a fuck), I think that would've been something to have brought up about the snake being unusually intelligent or some other shit.

At least it led to some hilarious chimping out for the Fantastic Beasts movie.

So it's made up bullshit from a cashgrab movie to desperately cash in on a done and dusted kid's book and not in the materials at all. What you're telling me is it's a desperate attempt to link said cashgrab to the books in some way for pretty much no reason while shoving in a quota hack-handedly while the hack of an 'author' pretends to still be relevant. And despite the fraud of an author ex cathedra'ing this, this shit movie and everything in that series is as canon as the Star Wars EU was (ie not really due to dweeb precedence on material). If George Lucas had left Star Wars the fuck alone the world would be a better place, and the same goes with this chick- you gave legions of pre-teens decent fiction and some pretty good movies, so why completely fuck things for them as they get older so you can pretend to be hip? Ah, this snake is actually an Asian woman! Ah, half the characters in my novels are bisexual even though I never said so explicitly in those novels! One of the main characters in my novels is actually Black! Nevermind that I described them as having pale skin before, I'm with the times so my characters need to be diverse!

I liked the Harry Potter franchise and could respect JK Rowling, but now, especially after reading that whole thing about The Harry Potter Lexicon, I just cannot respect her in the slightest. Keep real-world politics out of fantasy novels and their adaptations unless you have particular talent and can make your message work without completely overtaking the narrative, damn. And maybe don't screw over your fans who write entire wikis about your books, not a good look.

Lucas has a thing for special effects while JK Rowling wants everyone to know how woke and a good person she is (As long as it doesn’t inconvenience her).
