The thing is if James wasn't lazy, Screenwave would have caused less issues. James didn't bother to write reviews for Monster Madness 2021 as he decided to leave to the slobs which then led to the plagiarism controversy. James is complicit with the current state of Cinemassacre because of his laziness. He acts like he has "no time" yet has enough time to do Rex Viper and interviews with no view podcasts. The videos are soulless because James stopped caring about the channel long ago and is just doing videos to pay the bills at this point.

It's true his stuff is minor compared to everyone else's. But do remember. 9/10 of the issues James has had lately could have been solved by James not being lazy, or being more direct with the audience and telling them that after 10+ years of entertaining people for free that he is stepping back and letting people do some of the lifting for him.

A lot of the shit from him is just James being unwilling to admit that he is bored with the show and he has other people helping him out as James wants to keep up the appearance of it being a one man show, when it's barely even his now. James doesn't edit the AVGN videos or get gameplay footage. Mike gets the gameplay footage and Sean one of the Screenwave Slobs edits them. What is James doing that is causing him to have burnout? If it was Doug Walker, then yeah burnout would be a reasonable explaination considering he has to put out a NC video every week, does at least 2 streams a week, and is working on Disneycember along with other videos, He's also dealing with a disease at the moment hat causes him to have brain fog and fatigue at times. James already has people doing the hard work for him at this point. James effectively uses his kids as a scrapegoat for why he has "no time" thus why he's lazy when a lot of people balance having a job along with raising kids. Why can't James do the same?

slopes game room, while nowhere big as james, puts out longform retro gaming content/docs that are at least 30 mins and up...he only recently quit (i think 2 or so years ago) his real job to do YT fulltime. He has a family too...but never put out lazy crap that james does...and as far as I'm aware he does all his stuff by himself.

Burnout from what? If this was post movie James who'd just spent two years working on it along with having a baby or two, I could see the argument. But current day James does almost nothing. Ever since Screenwave stepped in James wasn't writing, editing, or even capturing the game footage for AVGN for years. He doesn't even bother memorizing the lines; he uses a teleprompter instead. So he'd just show up, read the lines and do some shitty acting for two hours. He didn't even write last years (or was it the year before that? can't remember) Monster Madness, considering the plagiarism shit with Newt.

Yes, now apparently James is at least writing AVGN and all of these movie "reviews" and whatnot he's doing, and you can see how well that's turned out. James summarizing a movie for fifteen minutes in front of a greenscreen every 3 weeks. Or playing a game with his neighbor for an hour. I'd be surprised if James works more than about 4 hours in a week considering the content output for Cinemassacre the past year along with how little we know he's actually doing. He's not burntout; he just doesn't care anymore and he can get a satisfactory income letting Screenwave handle most of the work, so that's what he's doing.
