As for Pat, I'm certain that the only reason he was able to collab with James was because he owns those 2 rare NES cartridges and James wanted to include them in his video.....which is Pat's legacy.....owning a rare cartridge, something which he's leveraged to appear on Pawn Stars and AVGN

I can't remember where it was said, but IIRC Pat told the story of how he connected with James - he was just one of a million people to randomly email his show to James and asked him to check it out, and as luck would have it, James actually did, he liked the show, and that's how they got together.

James has the absolute worst taste in the world when it comes to collaborators. First it's Pat, then the Screen Wave crew and now the possibility of Chris Bores in an AVGN. WTF? Jontron is right over yonder and idolized James and his work. I'm sure Jon would do a cameo in a heartbeat and there ya' go, instant click bait and you get someone that people would like to see in an AVGN. But noooo. Not James. Even though Jon appeared in a couple of non-AVGN videos for the channel because he's a legit fan of James. Noooooo. Better use the likes of Pat and now Chris Bores.

I mean, you're right in that JT would definitely do a cameo for James but I'm pretty sure Jontron is persona non grata these days. Your average internet plebe wouldn't care but the sponsors and stuff most likely would take umbrage with it. I finally decided to force myself to watch the AVGN Vegas Stakes episode.

I don't really hate Tony but he's not funny at all.
James' Hunter S. Thompson impression is godawful. Every single line is cringe. Just absolute cringe. "All around me I see bats... Bats from Castlevania! Bats from Nightmare on Elm Street!"

I just imagine James and the Screen Wave crew watching this 27 minute abomination just like George watching The Phantom Menace.

James' impression of Hunter consisted of just doing a deep voice and repeating lines from Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas. The episode has some really baffling games included beyond just casino games. He spends about 5 minutes (barely) on a Road Runner game and what does this have to do with Vegas or Fear & Loathing? Then he spends less than 5 minutes on the PSX game LSD and barely does any commenting.

The line "We can't stop here... This is Donkey Kong Country!" Got a sarcastic laugh from me. That was it.
