You can also see this reflective in the channel as well past 2021, where they addressed a lot of criticisms layed on to them in 2022. Again, if you have evidence that points to the contrary, I would like to see it.

Elfy and Beardo never cared about any of the Cinemassacre stuff. It got them views from truthers because their normal content barely scratched 1k views whereas any James related content would get 20 times that, even more sometimes.

I'm guessing between The Legendary Axe and Dynamite Headdy because out of everything that Mike streamed recently these are the only two retro-games with good review scores.
But he just finished playing The Legendary Axe and I don't think it's possible for James and his current editor to complete the episode just in a couple of days.
Dynamite Headdy usually comes up in "underrated games" lists and has some potential for a good episode but modern-day AVGN is just going to make green-screen "jokes", replacing James' head with random shit.

There is nothing wrong with criticizing his content. The problem is that that is all there really is to James's downfall at this point. As I said the other day with the Olson video and I said plenty of other times in this thread, his detractor base a lot of the time is putting the cart before the horse when it comes to James. They are trying to make him out to be in the elite levels of being this unlikable lolcow when he has just barely entered the building.

The reason why we mock cows like DSP and Wings is because they put out atrocious behavior that warrants mockery. The reason why we mock the appearances of people like Moviebob, Patrick Tomlinson and Ethan Ralph are because they are sociopathic egomaniacs with violent personas and underserved superiority complexes. The reason why people so heavily fucked with Chris Chan is because he gave out extreme reactions to being fucked with.

The same can't however be said with James. James doesn't do any of the bad things that other content creators do to warrant their hatred. His saga thus far has just been that his content is in decline and that he is holding onto his nerd character because he doesn't know what his next step is in his life. That is it. He has done nothing to make him worth hating. If anything he is more sympathetic right now and you want to feel bad for what he is struggling with.

And while it is okay to speculate about what is going on behind the scenes (which we all do), it has to be rooted in something more. Again, with those other cows you gather evidence with things that they may have accidentally said or personality traits that they demonstrate regularly. It gives you more of a capability to make that speculation an accurate one.

To sum up my issue and why I wrote this out: James detractors want to paint him as being a Wings or Patrick Tomlinson because of silly reasons like his content turning to crap or because he won't shave his head. They come off as more bullies just looking to beat someone up rather than people who are targeting people that deserve to be exposed for who they really are. I am not trying to shield James for criticism, but you have to be more realistic about the issues surrounding him.
