Been noticing he has scheduled his streams to only 4 times a week, taking 3 days off instead of 2. Anyone still keeping up know why? Did he say it's because he has to work on heartbound more?

His kind of game feels like little updates and additions would feel like nothing at all so a content drop every quarter year sounds more reasonable but the problem is he has abandoned his game for more than a year and has nothing to show for it. If he wants to add anything substantial, it would add another 3-4 months and it'd look even worse optically. He's at the point where he has to choose: stream his usual garbage or not stream and actually make his game offline OR stream his heartbound devs. All not good options that make him look bad one way or another.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we got him. This means his light sources are NOT raytraced. When a light source is turned off in a raytraced environment, the change is immediately reflected on characters and objects because the light rays no longer reach them. In a true raytracing system, the physical behavior of light rays means they cannot cast shadows without illuminating the objects they hit. If you see shadows without illumination or vice versa it's likely a trick or an artifact of non-raytraced rendering techniques. He debunked his own lies via literal retardation.

The only thing I can think of is that it's raytraced shadows and not raytraced lighting, but even then it's a 2D pixel art game and so it would be pointless to do a shadow only raytraced implementation when you're already doing the computation for emitted/captured rays. You can do full blown 2d raytracing with minimal computation if competent. I actually think it's just a screen space effect or traditional sprite based lighting. There is no chance the game has real-time raytraced lighting based on the idea that characters could be illuminated standing in a turned off light source. Raytracing doesn't work like that. I can't imagine any scenario where this could happen. Maybe someone can correct me but I've built many raytracing examples over the years and I have no idea how one could program a system where rays illuminate a character but the light is off. Even if there was a bug where the light remained "on" but was set to be "off", it would still illuminate the environment, not just the character.

I think you are giving him too much credit. Sure he is like american CEO, but only in the sense that he keeps failing upwards thanks to connections.
I am sure he would be making Heartbound if he could. But the code is a mess, it's truly amazing he was able to do as much this way.
For him to finish it, he would have to face reality of his incompetence. That he has to learn how to actually structure code, and that he probably has to trash most of his work.

I think he cares much more about recognition and his persona than money.

That's not elegant or engaging. If I took a deck of cards and threw them into the air, scattering them, and then instructed you to put the cards back into the deck, in order, would that qualify as a good puzzle to you? No, that's cleaning up a mess. Your puzzles are a mess.

Over the years I've developed a burning hatred for "ARG"s that are just Caesar ciphers and steganography or whatever. It's not a puzzle, it's an Easter egg hunt for adults, and a chance for those "in the know" to show everyone how smart they are.

the 'load save' screen will tell you exactly how many puzzles, (+)environmental puzzles, and obelisks you have completed.

skimming mald's stream, i haven't seen his loadsave screen as he starts with the game already loaded in,
there's 523 puzzles and i think 135 environ puzzles, saying he has 500 done isn't unbelievable but he would've been probably done or be super close to being done ( doing endgame ) if that were true.
he's probably including the non mandatory environment puzzles from insecurities with puzzles lately

also there's a pond that'll show which points of interest you've completed on the island
